  1. Freaking LOVE Surge 2.0. As for the smoother pieces, they remind me of Ben 10 and I'm not really digging it :S The villains look sorta wierd too but very prototype-y. I hated the first wave of villains with the preliminary pics, so I wouldn't doubt they look cooler later on. This just made my day :3 I love seeing new sets. I doubt I'm getting any, though, but Surge is looking really cool this time around. It's nice to see some new heroes in the mix, too.
  2. Nobody seems to notice how that Great Being who touched the Ignika and now everything he touches comes to life just suddenly appeared? Then again I could be wrong. But that looks like the most likely thing. Also I totally didn't predict Vezon for once.
  3. Judging from the backs of those two canisters, the Heroes all have respective archenemies. Or it might just be pure promotion like how the Mistika had different Avtoran pinned on their backs :S But Stormer vs. von Nebula makes sense because they're the leaders and all.
  4. I doubt I'll end up getting any sets because of the fact I'm tight on money but Stringer looks pretty amazing. Then again maybe it's just because he's orange and black. And has the name Jimi. :\ But yeah other than the ridiculous prices the sets so far look very nice - definitely different but similar to Bionicle, with its superhero feel going on. *totally irrelevant to current discussion but is way too out of the loop to care* ~ck
  5. I find it that in children's sci-fi it's best not to question physics :P ~ck
  6. The way I saw it was that the dots weren't individual people but big crowds. After all, if they're travelling such long-distance they'd need to set up camp, travel in groups, etc. Or they could be big, but the scale is just most likely off x3 ~ck
  7. I don't know, I don't think any mask, Great Rau included, have looked all that "feminine" so far. Soft, rounded, maybe, but I prefer it that way. Another thing I'd like to point out - the Noble Ruru looks far more feminine than the Noble Rau, in my opinion, but it works on male characters. ~ck
  8. Aw come on. Gadunka was awesome, if extremely random. I mean, I wouldn't say he was *literally* the best part of 2007 but you've gotta admit the thing was cool. I'd like to see some ordinary-sized Gadunka frog/toad/fish/whatevers in the future story sometime ~ck
  9. I thought Jaller Mahri's mask was pretty awesome. Like a samurai mask or something :P *sneaks out* ~ck
  10. That's awesome. I didn't hear about that ~ck
  11. I would have loved a Malum serial. Really, he's one of the most interesting characters we've had yet. He's sorta treacherous, but not so much as Strakk, he could still be considered a pretty good guy if it weren't for his anger management problems. Even though it would have a chance of being written terribly, it'd still be cool to see more of the guy. ~ck
  12. Ah, then all apologies. I thought you were just one of those who despised the concept of humans in Lego action figure lines. Anyways, I was considering participating but I'm not very active, and I'd prefer to stick with Bionicle fanfiction =P ~ck
  13. I totally agree here. But still, you can't please the fanbase, really. Making sets look "non-feminine" will make some freak out, while making female characters slimmer or *cough* like Roodaka will make the feminazi part of the fanbase spaz out. I prefer having people freak out over non-femininity, thanks :P (Besides, on the subject of Bionicle, do biomechanical robot people even care that much about gender? They don't grow up from babies and therefore don't have puberty and therefore don't grow differently than one another :S) ~ck
  14. I don't think there are humans in herO Factory either, they just look like time-traveling robot superheroes. Plus, I don't see what's wrong with humans. We -do- live on a planet inhabited by them right? So unless you're a misanthropist you really can't complain about the fact that a Lego line has characters with humans in it :< ~ck
  15. Haha, agreed. See, I'm not one to complain, but Vezon is just too much for me D: ~ck
  16. Ugh, PLEASE no Vezon D: He is officially the most annoying and pointless character ever. Maybe he was cool as a raging homicidal maniac in 2006, but ever since the serials he's like a comic relief character, only lower. Like, Matau, only instead of being serious on occasion he's just always a joke. An unfunny joke at that. Yet Greg insists on putting him in pretty much every MU serial :S Meh. I hope he just dies in the alternate universe. ~ck
  17. It's AMAZING. ~ck
  18. Great, Greg. Name the Matoran of gravity. Throw BZP into pointless chaos. Three, two, one... ~ck
  19. Ooooh my god. If they put minifigs in Bionicle-style mecha suits my day would be made. I was never the biggest fan of Exo-Force, though, it just seemed like it was trying too hard to be anime-inspired and not doing so well at it. And I don't see why it wouldn't be classified as "Bionicle" at first - after all, Bionicle was once a sub-line of Technic when it first started out so I suppose it would just be labeled as so as not to confuse casual Lego fans. ~cap'n
  20. Even though they don't have the greatest design, I think the stars are pretty awesome and in fact a huge salute to the fans who have been with Bionicle since the beginning. I mean just look at it: Tahu Mata, Takanuva, and the Rahkshi, not to mention the fact that the Piraka is actually Nektann, a character which would most likely only be known by hardcore Bionicle fans and not the casual set-buyer. I've never been too partial to the Av-Matoran/Agori design, but I think the final wave of sets pulled it off well. It's not just better than nothing, it's a pretty awesome ending in my opinion. ~cap'n
  21. I get your point, but I wasn't just referring to fan-designed stuff. I mean, how many times have you seen this or something similar in the past year? It's official art, but it appears so often that I'd have to deprive myself of Eurobricks and BZPower and whatnot for a good few years to get any "nostalgic" feeling from seeing Tahu... but I dunno about you :S
  22. Although I get the angle you're coming from with the "nostalgia" factor since there's Tahu and Rahkshi and Takanuva, I really don't get why so many Bionicle fans will comment on "nostalgic" sets or pictures... I mean, if you're visiting a Lego/Bionicle forum on a regular basis, won't you see all those original sets all the time, for instance in signatures and avatars, usernames, fanart and fanfiction, revamp MOCs, and just around the forums in general. Unless you either hide yourself from any pre-say, 2005 discussion, which would be near impossible, or just get really, really into it when you're looking at the new sets, I can't see how you'd get a "nostalgic feeling" :\ Not that it's impossible, but I think many Bionicle fans use the term "nostalgia" way too much. ~cap'n
  23. I've always thought the same thing :P But then again it's more like "I used to be the world" Anyways, the video was pretty good. The selection of clips fit nicely, although it wasn't aligned to the music's rhythm too well. Either way, it had a pretty epic feel to it. ~cap'n
  24. I don't know, I thought the names were pretty cool I doubt anything will have a story as deep or complex as BIONICLE's anyway. ~cap'n
