  1. I was under the notion it'd be a cheap glossy-paper type, especially since Lego would probably sell a stretchy type separately, and that you can get this just by buying the set above. =/ Who said it'd be the stretchy type? If it is, that'd be nice. [-TA-]
  2. Man, this has diiiied. I have an idea, but I'll need some sort of small personality and background of each character, so if everyone could hand in one [and a name if there isn't], that'd be great. [-TA-]
  3. Yes, you heard me right. Today, I went to Target, and imagine my surprise when I got to the Aisle: Summer Lego! Not only that though, the critically acclaimed [ ] 7195 Ambush in Cairo was selling for the Price Cut $9.99. It's not much, of a sale, but still, very early for something like this; the set just came out. Knowing that Target usually bumps up the price of some smaller sets, imagine my surprise when I saw it. I'm not sure at all if it holds for all or any other Targets, other than the one I went to [Athens, GA], but I think it's well worth to check out. Happy Hunting, [-TA-]
  4. Heh, it was a general question on my mind for a while, but my example was my MOC Topic with no replies. :P And if I posted again, that'd be selfish bumping, alright, thanks Siegfried. [-TA-]
  5. I went today to the one in Athens, GA. Shame, they only had a bunch of the same Bionicle set from 2007, for $7. A sale, $10MSRP, but that set sold for half price for months on S@H last summer. So yea, it all depends on which Big Lots you go too. =/ [-TA-]
  6. Nah Bunda, that goes to Rockoh Pohatu. How nasty, out of the box, I built him the way he should be. Averted myself from horror. [-TA-]
  7. Lol I go for looks, overall design and pieces. Bunda, Wal Mart had them for $20. Dunno what the shipping is to you, but still. D: And BFA, so then one side of the Metus Shield would be all sliver basically then. :P Which would be pretty useful. [-TA-]
  8. I couldn't find it when searching the forums, so just a quick question: When is double posting allowed? Is it allowed when there is discussion to be added? Is it allowed when something is updated? Is it allowed when a topic gets no replies? Thanks. [-TA-]
  9. Oh, that's an interesting fact there Front. And about the head movement, I was trying to say that if the armor is moved up one axle, then the head has to rest a bit higher on the raised armor, than what it says in the instructions. It's just one stud of a difference, and it isn't that big. I meant that if it's like the one in the instructions, there's a gap in the shoulder/armpit area. With it moved a notch up, all the armor meshes together. [-TA-]
  10. You'd have to wait until November at the earliest, I feel. =/ Good Luck. I suggest trying Craigslist [i've seen some Lego Advent calendars there for good prices, or Bricklink] [-TA-]
  11. Heh, Mata Nui reminds me of Lhikan now. Well, I went out yesterday and found the Legends at a Walmart, second time seeing them in stores, >.> I grabbed Stronius, instead of Ackar or MN. Here's a mini-review, I have no access to a camera here, and a review topic without pictures feels awkward. -------------- Stronius is great, no doubts about it. His look emanates a "Bash-now-question-later" character. And if you think about it, looking at just the sets, he's the only one that actually gives off a character that matches. You wouldn't know Ackar was a champion, or Kiina was the aggressive crazy-nut she is, just by looking at them. Stronius has the lovely armor parts too. :3 They're new, and well designed. I already have some uses for them in MOCs in my head. Club pieces are great too. The spiky scheme just works altogether. I do wish he had some spiky Inika feet, but I'm not sure how they will look compared to the mostly "dull spikes" that cover Stronius. I'll take a picture of him with those once I get home. I'm sure all/most of you read Shan's review and LewaLew [He's still alive apparently. :o] rebuttal on BZP. I agree with Shan that the armor piece moved up a notch looks better, but Lego did not do it like that for a reason. It is because his head moves up a stud in placement, and he loses some of his short, stocky and bulky look. But the shoulder gaps disappear, and the loss of that stud down is fine. The Vorox-type neck is fine. Thanks to his mask [That wonderful wonderful mask], he can even look up, without looking like a giraffe. The mask is great, although it may not be as commonly used in Glatorian [or agori], I see some "creature" or rahi that can use it well. I'm a little miffed they used a bley Inika torso. It's covered well in the front, and pretty good in the back, but it's still visible. I found it interesting they used two technic pinjoiners, to keep the chest armor separated from the body. It's a light Gray though, which is kind of sad. The usual problems with light gray axles, Mata red 2 axles and bushel with pins still exists, although it is minor, and doesn't stick out, thanks to the dark red, black color scheme. His chest is gappy, a problem fixed with a black Metru torso and a pin I think. I'm fine with the lack of upper arm armor. I feel that it would either kill the dark red too much or stop the articulation short. All in all, Stronius is a great set. Pros: Glorious mask, armor and 2 piece club that match well. [Count as 3, if you will] New[?] Dark red pieces Overall look is very menacing.[?list] Cons: Bley Inika Torso Light Gray pieces Mata Red stuff Gap in Chest armor. All the cons are minor, easy fixes. Stronius is great fun. I really do suggest him to all of you. I don't have any Legends to compare him with, but as a single set, he's pretty darn amazing. ---------------------------- Don't quote this post. >.> [-TA-]
  12. Well that's a movie picture. :P Of course there's some scaling and stuff. Ackar's sword is pretty big for his size, but looking at pictures, the Jaller Mahri blade is much bigger than Ackar's flame. I'm going agree with Front here, the Jaller blade looks big on most canisters already, adding a huge hilt would make it oversized for a regular canister. [-TA-]
  13. Much better, the shape is clear, and it's obvious which vehicle you're trying to portray. Personally I'd edit the first post with new pics, as well as the pictures of V1. I have issues with the bottom, and the fact that it rises from the back to the front. If you could add head lights, that'd also be great. The windshield is also flat, and if you could add a hinge, get rid of the than, but keep the color, I think it'd look better. I like the mudflaps in the back. [-TA-]
  14. Oh man, I loved the voices. Strakk had a Russian Accent? I think it fit well. I liked how Ackar's voice worked in the battle, after Strakk was down. Very Noble and it has the hint of old. Perfect. And then came Raanu's voice, also great. Battle Scenes were fluid, compared to the last 3 movies. What's irking is all the Agori are the same ;_; [-TA-]
  15. If that's true it sounds like MU for 2010. And then an "A-team" assembles from a bunch of the beings inside Teridax or something or other. Heh, A-Team Bionicle. [-TA-]
  16. It'd be funny to have a Pakari though. =/ Maybe a modified Pakari with clay and stuff? >.> Hey, there's a market. Those custom shops should make attachable Clicks. [-TA-]
  17. Which is a problem Maybe tail? Oh last time I just had one ball joint. With Two, it has a pretty nice spin. @_@ Very Entertaining. Lemme test 'em out with cones, ball joints and chains. Hopefully we'll get one that works well. Mmm... The two ball joints on each end of the chain seems to work best. A stud and a cone on the firing end with the ball on the other works okay too. If you want to lose the cool dangling chain factor and go for distance, having both ends of the chain on the missile and then a ball join goes pretty far. [-TA-]
  18. Hm. Well If you actually flick them, they go pretty darn far. I have couple from Turbocar chase [] so I'll try it out right now. EDIT: Aaand after attaching the old Ball Joint to a system chain to a flickfire missile... It works. Kinda. From like 2 feet off the ground it goes around 3 feet. Oh and it's hard to store the long length of chain... lemme try adding both chain end to it. Impractical, but just to try. [-TA-]
  19. Here's what we do: Imagine a launcher that launches balls with chains. Draw it out Use it. Done. :D But I love the MOCs. They're all pretty nifty The Drone could use claws on all feet. Scorponox could use better legs. I like the spikes on the back of the refugee. I hate the Piraka Arm and the Nuva Armor on his foot though. [-TA-]
  20. Wait, what pointed to Berix again? I remember that evidence for Metus was that the extended ending was "Metus's Revenge" [-TA-]
  21. I was saying "Oh man," as I watched the video. That was great. The fight was stiff, didn't like it, but Click is cute, the battle cry of the Vorox is perfect, and the movie makes the Vorox ferocious and strong. I love how it moves. Best part was when Metus drove up. That line showed that the voice is perfect for Metus. Very business salesman-like, just like how he should be. This movie will be great. I remember reading somewhere [probably here] a couple weeks back that Mata Nui was armed with a Vorox Tail. I thought that was neat, seeing the Titan Mata Nui and all. I do wonder if he'll ever get a Thornax Launcher in the movie. [-TA-]
  22. Heh I don't remember any. Frankly, I'd just like one that has MOCable colors. >.> Knowing my luck, I won't win though. Anyway, Cendox is the bomb. The "Loose Front End"? Steering. Awesome Steering. It's a Speederbike. With Two Black Brutaka Blades. And Treads. And Mata Yellow. For $20, I'd say it's a steal. Baranus, has a thrown together Chariot and awkward Spikit , and while I like Sahmad, the overall mash of a bunch of silver parts is just not worth the $50. [-TA-]
  23. Heh, my fault, I missed the link. >.> The slime pit is pretty nice, I like the TNG parabolas and studs as bubbles and stuff. That rack of TNG weapons for D. Zaster is neat. I like what you did there overall. I like the henchmen making marshmallows, nice touch. xD In terms of what I'd like to see done, I think I've said them all in my first post. :P [-TA-]
  24. If they're bothersome, do what I do. Get Firefox. Get Ad-blocker. Done. [-TA-]
  25. Foliage was really well done, with the stumps, brush and plants everywhere. The cave and all the different colors give a nice facade, but the side are completely smooth. If you made it so it rockily peaked at the top, I think it would look better. The little touches like the cooking rat and dead wolf are really nice. The minifigs are fine, I like the ones in the middle and the far left the most. The close right's hair doesn't fit, I feel. If you have a hat to give him, try that? [-TA-]
