Karie cringes. Gods, so help me, Octavyn... "Masson, we can talk about this after. Right now we have more important things to deal with!"
-
Caged animals? Karie's mind goes to a dark crevice of her mind, a place she wished it didn't go. She clears the thought from her mind before hearing Em's remark. She couldn't show weakness in front of this monstrosity, despite it being the largest creature she'd ever seen. "Do you need a weapon? Take Doppelgänger, I'll be alright without it." She holds out her longsword to the warden.
-
Karie groggily gets up and begins to get dressed. "Typical." She decides not to drink anything until she gets a proper view of whatever the Regret wanted them to see. She follows the others sleepily.
-
Brickdoctor would know, he's the one who created both towns.
-
A chill is sent down Karie's spine as she groggily wakes up, missing whoever was at the door. "What... who's there? If it's the captain tell him it can wait five minutes..." Karie nods back to sleep until the ruckus walks her up. "Ugh. Just so everyone knows, I'm cranky without my sleep. Who was knocking?"
-
Somewhere between Veer and R'klif might work. I don't think those forests have been named, or claimed by any one faction.
-
Karie makes her way to her cot and begins to take off her sweater, laying it at her feet. She makes sure to keep her shirt on. As she lies down she thinks back to three weeks of failing to interact with anyone in any real manner besides Masson. Lawrence still put her off, never really looking her in the eye when they ran into each other. She looks about for Baaffy, wondering where she ran off to. "So, perhaps we should at least mention why we're here? Why everyone wants the Regret dead, besides him being a prick?" She'd only seen him once, at the hall, and there he seemed intimidating enough. She was more intent on killing Oculoids, but if killing the Regret would end this, so be it. She lingers on Doppel, and Skrall firing his shot into his arm. The Regret had to be put down, there would be no mercy for him.
-
Karie hadn't spoken to Lawrence since the quest first began. She drily sternly to the paladin, a glint of seriousness in her eyes. "Clearly you're talking about yourself if this is how you're going to act, Lawrence."
-
"I thought you'd like to relax a little bit. We've got three weeks until we get to this island, so we might as well take some time to enjoy it." She replies back to him. Karie listens with intrigue as the discussion of the Ameobosses is brought up. "I've heard of them, from Octavyn, and to be honest, if they're dead, why should we care? One less obstacle in our way!"
-
Karie leans back in her chair and begins to ponder. The last thing she wanted was distrust to spread throughout the heroes. "No reason in particular. I'm just usually paranoid about this kind of stuff." She wished the party had more privacy to speak, but with the Regret having sent the invitation himself, who's to say his minions were aboard the vessel. She remembers back to the Oculoids having thought reading abilities. If you can hear me, you won't for very long. "I'll have a bottle of alcohol please. Masson, I know you're abstaining, but why don't we share a bottle? I know you drink it occasionally." She suggests playfully.
-
"Captain Armstrong, it seems you have quite the career. My name is Karie. Let's just hope everything goes well and we have a safe journey." As Armstrong mentions Erdathcath, she looks her over. It had been awhile since the two actually spoke, and even when they did, she got no real answers why she was part tree. "Actually captain, I do have a question, a serious one. How much do you trust your crew?" Karie hoped she wouldn't have to delve into the potential paranoia, but if her previous encounters ensured her anything...

Kintobor replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
I apologize for not updating last night. By the time I got home, I was exhausted. I know I haven't been doing a very good job to update the quest, but I hope to change that with a big one later on tonight. I'm sincerely sorry.- 500 replies

Karie found herself getting intrigued by the Proggs and their culture as she continued to ask Punii questions. However, she knew the next question wouldn't be a very pleasant one. "How powerful are Proggs, in terms of strength. Is there something I should know should we get into a fight with... well, your people?"
-
"Apparently heroes have had run ins with witches, and being a witch myself doesn't make my case any easier. However, Masson isn't one of those people." Karie's mind goes back to the inklings she'd heard of Baba, an individual she'd never met. Perhaps she was partially to blame for all this? "How so?"
-
I know you've hosted before, Flare. If you'd like, it'd be helpful if you could add a synopsis to each of your quests. You can find a list of quests on the wiki!

"Ah, I see. I've met a few of your race before, a bunch of multi-coloured ones, about your size. Quite active for a bunch of... larvae. Myself? Well, personally, I guess I'm kind of a healer, but what I would be called in a general sense, well..." She looks about, ensuring no one is listening before stepping back so she can be in private. "I guess I would be classified as a Witch."
-
Karie leaves the hall behind, her sheep following behind her. Apparently Hershey didn't feel like fighting off a god-like being. She didn't blame for not wanting to come. While walking she notices the Progg in the group. "I don't think we've met. The name's Karie. I'd shake your hand, except you Proggs don't really have hands..." While waiting for a reply, Karie begins to sharpen Sexy with her grating stone. She felt a little disappointed in her lack of using her rapier, but she hoped to have the opportunity to unsheathe her blade soon.
-
Karie rolls her eyes as Lawrence attempts to compensate for something. She checks her pack over to make sure all of her various weapons are in check. "I've got no real questions, Sand Queen, although it's weird seeing you in the flesh. I never really thought I'd see your likes just out in the hall." She turned to Masson. She had a hunch why he was here, but she didn't fully know. Was it truly on behalf of the veterans? She felt nervous. She'd been branded with the Oculoid mark; something she hoped to hide. Her dual pronged scar, although no longer sore, still irritated her. She felt shamed by it. Lawrence's words rang throughout her ears. "You could start by shutting the hell up, your lordship." She mumbled, under her breath. "It's... a long, complicated story that I can tell you along the way. Thank you for at least understanding, unlike some people." She glances to Lawrence before looking back to Jeaux. "Yeah, I hope you find some use for it, what with you being a mage and all." She raises her hands in the air and wiggles her fingers as if she's casting some sort of spell, accentuating her words. She quickly turned to Masson, kissing him on the cheek. "How you feeling about this, sweet cheeks?"
-
Karie shrugs. She had little interaction with the tree person, but she seemed confident enough. "I'll agree to that sentiment. I vote for... Erdathcath? It was Erdathcath, right? Yes, I vote for her as party leader." She rummaged through her stuff, noticing stuff she didn't need. "Jeaux, you need anything? How about this ruby?" She feels awkward talking to the automaton after all this time. What had he been up to. She wondered if anything had changed about him.
-
Karie fumbles in late, looking slightly hung over. "Yup, I'm here. Don't worry." "Jeaux, look, remember that letter I sent you at Grogmas? Well, yeah... he's my husband." Karie notices Lawrence at the back, glancing him over. Everything looks good.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Third Anniversary of Heroica RPG
Kintobor replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Look everybody, I got my Cutie Mark! Thank you, Sandy for organizing the game for these past three years, and thank you to everyone on the site! You guys are an awesome bunch! -
Perhaps the poisons dilute the other applied poison, making the player decide which one they want on their weapon? It'd make it easier to balance, and I don't believe we've run into that issue yet.

Karie winces as her sister tightens the corset gripping her waist. As she does so, a letter lands on her snow white dress. Picking it, and looking it over, she signs her name on the raffle card and sends it off. Karie Alderflask signs ups for the raffle.

Heroica RPG- Quest #103: Alfendi Lupine Strikes Again!

Lind attempts to jerk his arm free to no avail. Even his munchkin abilities can't free him from the predicament he's in. Perhaps he'd have to call for help? Arthur begins lugging the various items into the cellar, making an awful racket as he does so. Looking around the foyer, Thormanil notices the large clock they'd heard throughout the evening. A few potted plants sit about the room. Looking about the rack, Arthur notices a few bottles that look similar to the painting upstairs. They're positioned in the rack with the rest of the aging wines, branded with a Shadeux stamp. Hoke announces his presence to no one in particular as he enters the bathing room. A small tub and sink rest in the room, while a toilet sits nearby. Looking about, he finds some incense, imported from Luosh. They have a clean, lylac-y smell to them. Although not finding any fine china, Alexandre takes not of the chairs and table, which appears to be not only old, but valuable, as their in near perfect condition.- 500 replies
