Zaria nods. "I would be honoured to assist you on your journey. Wisdom is meant to be shared for all our benefit. I do not need any accommodations, although I would not mind sitting with you and your associate, if you do not mind. " Zaria smiles. She notices the scene taking place with Merei and the mercenaries, but minds nothing of it for the moment.
-
"My apologies, I did not realize I was speaking to a nobleman." Zaria stands out of her seat and bows with a small flourish. "I am Zaria Kanara, I am a priest of Varuth. If you would like some of my advice on your current circumstance, I would love to assist you and your associate if you would allow me? I am new to this region, myself, but I would be more than willing to give travel advice, if you would allow me."

Zaria looked up from her food, having nearly finished, and noticed the stranger approach her. She wiped her mouth with he napkin before responding. “I am well acquainted with travel, yes, but not around these parts. It’s my first time in the area. Might I ask who you are?” Zaria inquired.

This is something that can be looked into. Also, Happy Halloween, everyone! -
Zaria nodded towards the two officers. "If I need any assistance in the matter I will make sure to seek you two out." Zaria went back to her meal, a twinge of suspect lingering in her. More questions were raised regarding the mission at hand, but at this small moment, she had food to eat.
-
Her suspicion aroused, Zaria takes another drink before responding. "The freighter I am looking for was last reported here. The Valencia left this port on route to Cosmopoli and then disappeared with no word from her crew. I do not know anything about a freighter not being reported, but if you have information I would appreciate hearing it." Zaria applied her sense of insight to the two officers, trying to gauge how honest they were being with her.
-
Zaria squints at the Space Police insignia on the uniforms of the two men next to her. She wasn't sure what to make of the organization, but they seemed to have good intentions. "No, there isn't a problem." Zaria responds. "My associates and I are looking into a missing freighter that passed through here. The name of the freighter was the Valencia. You wouldn't happen to have seen it or have any information regarding it, sir?" Zaria asks, beginning to eat her meal. The drink was not what Zaria was used to, but it was a cold reprieve from the spiciness of the wings. She exhales as she feels her cheeks swelter and her mouth water. She was used to spicy cuisine, but this was hot for the hell of it. Zaria looked down at the orange coloured sauce of the wings. This was now a challenge to be overcome.

Can you still move while blinded? -
Zaria realizes she's a little late to the game as she shakes herself out of her daze, taking in the atmosphere of the diner. She steps up to the bar and pulls out 25 credits from her credits pouch. "Barkeep? Riqon '75 and an order of wings, please." She leans against the bar and looks over the two uniformed men, attempting to gauge which organization they belonged to.

Zaria’s eyes widen at the grenades. “Well, just keep them away from me when you throw them and you should be alright.” Zaria prepared for a bout of meditation as she spoke to Kirwin, crossing her legs on the floor. “If you don’t feel comfortable with a blade that is understandable. Not everyone has the constitution for close combat.” Zaria stood up and looked at the view screen towards the port. She tried to find the benefits in all of life’s paths but was finding it hard here. She smiles in an attempt to improve her own morale. “Well, I imagine it has a more rustic charm once we get inside, you know? Maybe a nice restaurant or pub?”
-
Zaria turns to Merei and shakes her head. "Oh no, if anything I will likely be resting my mind in meditation until we reach Port Charon, but if you wish to talk, Merei, I am willing to converse. In terms of what I believe is going on... I am not entirely sure. If bandits or pirates were involved, the first recovery crew would have discovered as such and reported it. This could be a trap, but what benefit does our supposed enemy gain from laying it? This whole situation raises many questions, and we do not have enough information to come to solid answers. In any case, if it is a trap, I think we are capable of handling it." Zaria removed her khopesh from the hilt and pulled out a whetstone out of a leather pouch on her belt, proceeding to rhythmically sharpen the blade. "If it is Blackguard, then I will deliver divine judgment on them for their transgression against the passengers and staff of the Boreal Express." She smiles confidently. She enjoyed the calm that came in routine, in the calm before the storm, even if the storm was arguably more invigorating. As Zaria sharpens her blade, she speaks to Kirwin. "You did not answer my earlier question, Kirwin." She ceases the sharpening to focus on Kirwin, looking at them directly. "Did you cut off that arm you were holding, or did you find it?"
-
Zaria realizes where the wary glance from Jace is stemming from and shakes her head, awkwardly smiling in an attempt to defuse the situation. "No, no, I have no interest in stealing the goods aboard the freighter. I am merely wondering if there is anything aboard the freighter that would catch the interest of thieves, or I guess out this far, pirates. I have dealt with Blackguard once and their perchance for violence, it would not surprise me to see them at the heart of this issue. Also, no hard feelings here, Jace."

It’s a big, scary world out there, and not all of it is levelled to your character. -
Zaria sighs. “No, I should apologize, Jace. I’m just bitter about someone else considering me nothing less than some wanderer when I am more than that. This sword is not for show: elven forged steel, reinforced with a dura-iron core and enhanced with power servos to propel slashes forward: it is not something to be played with and it is only drawn when it needs to be.” Zaria exclaims, removing the blade from her back but keeping it sheathed. She shows off the handle of the blade. “It’s as much a work of art as it is a tool for violence. It is to be respected.” She keeps her khopsh in her lap, turning to Jace and speaking sincerely. “I apologize for my outburst. It was uncalled for. As for questions, what can we expect at Port Charon? Is there any place worth investigating first? Also, I understand you don’t have access to the full manifest, but what do you know was in the freighter? Anything worth stealing?”

"Let us hope that is the case." Zaria responds back, nodding as Merei opens up about her youth. "I have spent so long on Khazra' Fal that I have neglected seeing the Arm in full. I am hoping to one day see Tehanulan and Tehanuyan, but we will see, I guess. I have the fortune of having time on my side." Zaria states, a reflective, somewhat solemn note in her tone. "Eih juvoka aj ujjihot. Varuth's watchful gaze will keep us safe during our travels." Zaria replied with a warm smile. "As nice as luxury trains are, I prefer good company and a sturdy pair of boots." Zaria gives Jace a side-eye glare. "I would not say I am fresh. You do not survive travelling Khazra' Fal on your feet without learning how to defend yourself." Zaria motions to her sword on her back. "Jace, I understand based on the description you provided that you want us to recover a shipment on a freighter for this Mortizar fellow. Can you give us a thorough run down of the events that have transpired? I would like to know everything you know before stepping foot onto anything floating in the abyss of space." As beautiful as the stars were and as eye-widening the majesty of the Arm was, Zaria was hesitant stepping onto a derelict freighter in the cold darkness of the void.

I mean, I think the archetype might be fun. A character who was just a faceless soldier and leaves to give themselves and identity beyond just "soldier who shoots things". It's got legs to go interesting places. -

Fair. Should I have the extra spell listed in my stats for when I want to cast using the scroll, or can I decide what that spell is when I equip it, as it's likely I'll be moving between it and the farsight googles. I remember this as well. That was some deep, recessed memory you just stirred, samurai-turtle, holy smokes. -
“Did you cut off the arm yourself?” Zaria asks, intrigued. A bewildered smile grows across her face from the sheer absurdity of the statement made by Kirwin. “The alternative would be that you found one lying around, and I think that would be worse out of the two possibilities.”
-
Zaria finds a place in the back of the shuttle to sit, lower her satchel for a moment. It seemed both Merei and Jace. ”Well, my previous contract through Heroica had my crew and I steal a set of documents from a group of corporate figures on a luxury train. We succeeded, but the group was quite strained. We had a severe lack of trust, and greed clouded the minds of my colleagues. We succeeded, but I found myself questioning the trustworthiness of the group I led.” Zaria contemplates on the previous mission, still concerned with the flagrant lack of teamwork and the allure the cube seemed to arrest over her two allies. She sighed in frustration. “But that is behind us. Before joining this organization I wandered my home planet for one hundred years, seeing everything that there was to. As a priest of Varuth travelling is important to me, and joining Heroica seemed like a good way to see the Arm.” She crosses her legs, trying to find some amount of comfort in the shuttle.

Zaria looks to Kirwin "Well, you put your hands on hips, you keep your elbows out, and... yeah." Zaria does it again to show Kirwin how the pose is done. "If you want to feel more confident, and you want others to think you feel confident, it's a good pose to hold." OOC: It's basically just the Superman pose, sorry if my language isn't clear. Stepping into the shuttle Zaria nods in Jace's direction. "Jace, it's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Zaria." She wasn't sure how well she felt working for another corporate entity, keeping her tongue still regarding whether it was a pleasure to meet a corporate representative. She remained pleasant to Jace, though. "By all means, let us be off. I am interested in knowing more about what we are getting ourselves involved with, but I am certain we have time." Zaria gave a wary smile, still unsure of what to make of Varen. "Yes. It is good to see you again as well. I guess I finally get to see what a lawyer is capable of doing."
-
Zaria reflexively places her hands on her hips assertively as the celestial looks in her direction, unintentionally showing off her muscles. She was mostly unfamiliar with everyone here, save the ex-lawyer. While she knew what she would be getting into with Yelana or Soren present, the predominantly new faces left her feeling awkward and out of place. "No need for secrets." Zaria smiled. "I promise I do not bite. I am Zaria Kanara, a priest of Varuth. It is a pleasure to meet the two of you." Zaria respectfully bows, clasping her right hand around her fisted left hand as she did.
