Good news :)

Great idea, I love the trance beat - the fast pace mirrors the fast pace the story is moving at. ~iL

I know Tyranide, just clearing things up for other members :)

The catalog pics will come when Tyranide gets the catalog from his source, as for the discussion, the problem is solved, that discussion has its own topic :) ~iL

The Unofficial BIONICLE Story Critique Topic

And, they mess up the flow of the story, the plot of 2004 and 2005 is such a screwy mess it's not even funny. ~iL -

Yeah, I know right? If they really want to please the fans, scrap all the movies, and make dirt cheap flash games :D ~iL -

The Unofficial BIONICLE Story Critique Topic

Well I for one adore cliches. And, most of the people on this site seem to as well. How do I know this you ask? 2 words, 1 franchise: Star Wars. If you enjoy Star Wars, then you probably like the cliche characters, in their unique setting Lucas casts them in. Who cares what is a cliche? Was King Arthur a cliche when he was invented? Just because BIONICLE features the archetypal hero characters, doesn't mean it's a bad thing. Oh - and the layout for the story for the past few years is a little irksome for me, 2007 in particular. It just seemed like the story had so much going for it, until the heroes showed up and blew away all the villains. ~iL -
Looky what I made for all you off topic posters ;) The Unofficial BIONICLE Story Critique Topic ~iL

I've noticed a lot of people have been critiquing the BIONICLE story, it's characters and the writing in the 2010 topic. Since this is a good discussion, but it really detracts us away from the 2010 discussion, I thought I would start a topic to focus on the story critique. So have a ball - talk about the characters, the writing and the plot - what you like - what you don't like and what you would change. :) ~iL

Back on topic: @Tyranide, do you have any info on the catalog yet? I'm really interested to see the background they choose for the Stars. ~iL

DV - don't judge Greg until you hace read something else by him, the Shatterzone book is quite good ;). Now let's get back on topic before we get in trouble again.
-
Yeah, let's end this. I'm looking forward to what Tyranide has to say about the MU . . . ~iL
-
Agreed. Greg is also a very nice person - I met him in CT - I should know. What people keep forgetting is that Greg is really just a part of the story team. You can only complain if you don't like his writing voice, if you don't like anything else, complain about the story team. If you remember, Greg is usually the one with the better choices, Vakama staying good (obviously voted down), a female Makuta in 2008 (Gorast) and many more. I don't know too many authors that can deal with both 9 year olds and hardcore fans. Greg clearly thinks about us, if he didn't, why would he bother with the serials - it isn't 1935, most young kids don't read serialized stories. If Greg was to leave, I may very well leave BIONICLE, as far as I'm concerned as a fan of the story, Greg is the voice of the line. ~iL

The Vahki were the worst, the others were more like insects, the Vahki were like bad robots. I wish the Vahki had a "queen" that acted like Braniac from Superman.
-
Yeah, I asked himif a vahi could warp space while it warps time, or if could create gravity. But - that really is a hard concept.
-
I think Greg is great for BIONICLE. He truly does think in a comic book mind, his narrations are great, and some of the plot twists are very good. You have to remember, the story is written by the story team, Greg only presents it in a readable format. If theam says no elemental powers, then Greg can't write about elemental powers.

End of the week an no catalog? Bummer. I know Tyranide is looking for it, and so are a few other members, so it must be super elusive this year.
-
I think GregF may have quit the story team had they done that.

Tahu and Takanuva and the Rahkshi are true Stars IMO. Tahu is lead Toa of 2001, Taka is the lead Toa of 2003 and the Rahkshi are just great villains that really evolved the concept of BIONICLE design (knees, turning heads etc.). I guess LEGO did an okay job with with what they had to do. They really had a hard job - pick 6 sets, 3 heroes, 3 villains - one of each color scheme, and all must be the same size and look okay together. ~iL
-
I think he looks better than the 08 Taka, but I agree i seems that most of the parts are reused.
-
Yeah, most kids don't know or care about reincarnation. I think "All Stars" would be a better name for kids - but that's just me. ~iL
-
Good idea :)
-
Thanks you really helped us :). So only 6 sets - that sucks. Tyranide, when you get the catalog, could you get a pic of this page please? :)

I'm 75% sure it's fake.
