  1. I skipped this year's train and instead picked up the 40573 Christmas Tree and 40746 Santa's Delivery, both on the cheap(ish), to add to the village. Like @Christmas Jack, I too am maxing out my available space, and my post office and alpine lodge remain unbuilt for now. Anyway, has anyone modded 40746 to be a model of a more traditional vintage looking delivery truck? I'm not a fan of the open cab look and would like to do something with this that gets rid of the workshop play aspect.
  2. This car design is really fun and it makes me want to add to my set, even though I know it'll get pricey. I'll have to see if prices drop before it goes EOL. I lucked out earlier this summer and found a set with a damaged box at a LEGO store at a discount. I found the build to be pretty enjoyable and, now that it's built, I'm fine with the size of the engine / details / etc. I found it interesting that while my set had the updated sticker sheet it did not include the new printed city tiles. I assumed they'd be sealed in their own small bag and tossed in on future runs. In any case, i opened a ticket for the tiles and the packing list says it includes a sticker sheet as well.
  3. Another leak: June 2026 - "Trains" Lego City 60506 (7+) Lego City 60509 (8+) No other details but maybe related to the airport subtheme....some sort of monorail-type tram or something? Anyway, we'll see.
  4. Yeah, I don't have a major problem with the price increase and, while I'd rather not another train, I get the need to revisit to allow new collectors to enter the fold. I also don't have a problem with the lack of power accessories. I don't have / want my #10254 motorized so I would have been pretty disappointed to be forced to buy and not use those parts, same goes for the new version. With all that said, this new train design is atrocious. I hate saying that because I know many people worked very hard to bring this to market but the fact is, overall, it's a poor model. There are elements of it I like but the features I don't like are major deal breakers and when I already have a holiday train it's an easy decision to pass. Part of me wishes if they felt they had to revisit the train I wish they'd gone a new direction and released it in phases, similar to the modular sets they released during the 9v phase (Amtrak, Super Chief, etc) to allow for more detailed cars. I know this isn't realistic anymore and they moved away from that set model for a reason. Alas... Anyway, looking forward to the upscaled Santa...
  5. Oh man, why does this look like it came out 20 years ago??? The design is so dated. And the polar bear? wtf is that? The locomotive doesn't even have drive wheels! I can't believe this made it through to market. 100% pass...I wouldn't even bother with this at deep discount.
  6. I've mentioned it before but the Hogsmeade from 2021 https://brickset.com/sets/76388-1/Hogsmeade-Village-Visit fits the WV scale nicely...and can be head on Bricklink for a reasonable price. I made some modifications for more snow on each roof and some minor architectural stuff. I'm interested to see this train but it makes me wonder if a new station is in the works for next year, and if so, I'm not sure how I'd feel about that.
  7. 10361 is rumored to be a train with 956 pcs $129.99
  8. This would be a disappointing trend...if going forward the WV sets go from a 26 month cycle to 14 months.
  9. Loooooong way to mid-September.
  10. It's a set for kids. What you want is a $250 train station and we all know that it's happening within the City line. It looks like it's been designed to attach to the forthcoming City Tower set. And if we pull the thread, the same could be said for every train station (ie: platform only long enough to unload a single car, etc).
  11. There must be some kind of plate mechanism that is depressed when the train rolls over it...in turn it functions as a lever to raise the vertical axle that activates another lever at the top to tip the large white Lego plate to roll the boulders off the ledge. That's my guess based on the image.
  12. Station images released. It feels incomplete but, I gotta say, I kinda like it as a starting point for something a little more substantial. I may pick this up if it gets discounted and I'm looking forward to seeing what others do with this.
  13. Official images leaked from a retailer. 2 cars and a locomotive, no third car. Rock falling function confirmed but not sure how exactly it functions, though it appears to be mechanical and not powered (lever and vertical axle visible). Arctic fox molds, Johnny Thunder with scarf. Main tunnel structure plus two side builds, (1) small cave (attaches to tunnel structure) and (1) outpost structure with small crane. Includes tracked vehicle w/ open cab and small cargo bed. Vehicle is carried by split level train base car, car also has a camera turret for some reason. Locomotive appears to be designed to accommodate 1 pair of led lights, unclear if they're included. Operable doors behind the battery box to reveal compartments (side compartments appear to hold minor greebling). Other new track piece appears to be a rerailer. My thoughts: I'm kinda underwhelmed. Over the years I've become less interested in the City trains and this appears to be no different. I'm glad the theme continues, it's just not for me lately. Looking forward to more Icons / Creator Expert level trains. With that said, I'm glad to see them do something different and I think a lot of people are going to like this, especially how it dovetails with the other arctic sets past, present, and future.
  14. Based on the render, there appears to be some sort of boulder / rock fall function? Maybe that is related to the new pieces? Interesting but I gotta see better images...
  15. LEGO City Arctic 2025 The set includes a train with a single car and an icebreaker at the front. The train can be connected to a remote control. It emerges from a tunnel in a snowy mountain cliff with a waterfall, with a play feature where boulders can fall onto the train. The set also includes railroad tracks, a small loading station with a rail cart, and a small loader vehicle. 60470 Arctic Explorer Express Train 1517 pcs. $199.99 June 1, 2025 Something seems to be lost in translation here, so grain of salt. Terrain aspect is interesting. I suppose we'll start to see some images soonish.
