I voted for the trading post because I like the look of it better, but since I plan to buy ATLEAST 3 of both it doesn't really matter which is best. If only the armada had such a fortress/trading post.

I have : 6245 harbor sentry x2 6251 pirate minifigs 6263 imperial outpost 6267 lagoon lock-up I plan to make moc's out of every set once I have 3 or more of the same set. For castle , I have 2 wolfpack towers and 1 renegade cart. I plan to make a wolfpack moc once I have 5 to 6 towers.

I really can't choose which is best : pirates have imperials and the ultra cool armada. Castle has dragon masters and the best lego minifigs ever made : wolfpack. So I am collecting both.

The price aint to bad but certainly not cheap ( atleast not for me). A couple of days ago , I bought : pirate mini figures (6251) , harbor sentry (6245) and last but certainly not least , lagoon lock-up (6267) . All that for 30 €. This is a good buy for me and I intent to sell the pirate minifigs to get a little bit money back. + I don't really like pirates , only guards !!!

Haha, well there is plenty to go around for everyone. 2009 is going to be a top lego year for pirate fans.

Wow , the imperial impulse set is amazing, anyone living in regio limburg belgium, I'm gonna buy em all !

I only got 6263 Imperial outpost but more is to come, I'm close to a lagoon lock-up so thats 2 nice medium sized sets !

Wow ,that's BIG and must have costed a lot of money !!! I only have 14 redcoats and 17 bluecoats.

Prices for red and bluecoats went skyhigh in belgium recently . 13 redcoats : 45.30€ !!! 11 redcoat officers + 3 cannons : 31.88€ !! Thats insane and totaly out of my price range.

Skull island, a set I used to own as a child and boy did I love it ! It was next to lagoon lock-up the biggest pirate set I had. So my review : parts: 8/10 playability : 10/10 figs : 10/10 design then/now : 8/10 9/10 So that gives the set a nice 9/10 !

I voted redcoats but bluecoats are cool aswell. The 'reds' are just harder to come by then the 'blues' so that makes redcoats more precious to me. My current total : 14 redcoats 17 bluecoats and each with 2 cannons.

I tought so but am not sure It sold for 5.50€ which I would gladly pay for it. I don't own a single armada minifig. so I'm searching. In belgium you could get sets like lagoon lock-up for 30€ and eldorado fortress for only 50€. Also pirate minifigs generaly cost less than 1€ a piece. Castle however could be far more expensive, i've seen sets like dragon wagon (dragon masters) sell for 35€ which is more than double the cost back in the day.

Did you buy harbor sentry with it aswell? I was interested to but unfortunaly missed the auction cause of a barbecue.

In belgium they aren't to expensive either. A few days ago I bought me 23 imperial soldiers (mostly bluecoats) and the imperial flagschip for only 40€. So my army is rapidly expanding and I will post some pictures one of these days.

definately armada, in belgium (where i live) these a extremely hard to come by
