Hi, Just wanted to share a new MOC. It's 99.5 studs long and has modular docking for different science experiments and cargo. Crew of 3. Click here for the gallery! Hope you space more spacin. Chris <><

They should be available in LDD. Make a model, put on a sticker and you get the sheet. I'm pretty sure that's the drill. There's always enough Giddens to go around.

Ownership of the new StarJustice SpaceSkulls?
Admiral Giddens replied to xenologer's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Subthemes have never been closed to other builders. At least not PCS and 3vil. It's open season. We didn't give LEGO those phrases or names. They own Star Justice and Space Skulls. Build as you like! No one ever said you couldn't build other Mars Mission ships did they? You can build what you like, call it PCS, 3vil or whatever. Just note, folks know when you have the "vibe" or not with the theme and will make a comment. If you build something and think OH I add a subtheme name and it'll be cooler, *BZZT* try again. Other's building in subthemes is why they were really popular for a while. It was open ended with a few design aesthetics that anyone could join in on. BUILD! POST! -
I'm global. Ya, it was odd to see that noggin show up in EVERY town set in 2007... I thought of making a comic about it, then got lazy.

When we were putting our models in LDD sometimes we had to put pieces floating near and send a note to LEGO saying "hey this connection is broken"... I would guess these connections will be fixed in the next version. Our version of LDD is just LDD with a special access to the space palette... and that's an older version of the palette and not what will be coming out in April.

yes. yes. I think they already are... yes.

Seriously... shesh. Don't make us come over there and smack you. ;-)

In time, in time...

HEY, Put the gold star on the Admiral Giddens with goatee fig your you get demoted! C'MON! Thanks for the review! I'm so very glad you had fun building it.

Since LEGO doesn't currently do waterslide decals, they would have to start an entirely new system to do this. The would either have to purchase the supplies and machinery, or outsource, etc. Imagine that cost. I don't know many 10 year olds now days know how to use waterslide decals. The sets are 10+ not just for Adults. How is lego printing additional stickers free labor?? :-| We asked for all kinds of tires. I think big ol pieces like that are expensive and don't get used much. (and not enough imho) Thanks for the compliment over the buggy.

Stickers are like emoticons ;-) What would your solution to a minifig based space set in factory?
-
There are alternate models... YOURS! We built these with the mindset that a Lego Fan wants to build BEYOND THE BOX. If you got these sets you can build the models and then tear it up and go for broke building what you want. While the factory palette is limited, it's still non specialized pieces for the most part. Possibly you'll see alts too... just wait!

And easy to target... *PEW PEW KABLAAMMMMO*

You may just be onto something... There are a couple preprinted elements. They've been in sets for a while. As for the stickers and other printed elements... If I catch your meaning. The stickers will go on blank pieces. It's the LEGO way. They wouldn't put preprinted expensive parts to be covered up again.

They shoot wimpy pink rays and are scared of TEH JUSTICE.

Tom McDonald pulls out his spamcast equipment again and does and interview with Mark and me. There's info about the sets, stickers, the process, and more... http://www.archive.org/download/TheReturnO...rnOfSpace-1.mp3 http://www.archive.org/download/TheReturnO...pace-2_64kb.mp3

Either will work. Flickr is awesome for Lego sharing, especially works in progress.

Hey, great job! I think that's pretty close, plus or minus a few things. I hope it's fun to zip around and explore with. (it's purpose)... oh and shooting skulls. What's your flickr account? I'm Fazoom on flickr... link up so I can make comments about your pics! Fun stuff...

Windscreens are really important to space. We explored as many elements for windshields and colors as we could in the process. You won't find any unusual canopies and colors in the set, but there are good ones in it.

You've hit the vibe we were going for in teh Justice set. Classic Space ideas brought back. Scooters, rovers, bases, robots and spacehips. Simple space. (with justice.)
-
Thanks, that was nice of you. We'll try to do less next time. You haven't seen the rest of the box, but if that's your prevailing attitude it probably won't help. I hope it's not the case.

Always remember, the process goes something like this.... The DREAM, the CONCEPT, the REVISIONS, and the reality.... We're proud of what's in the box, it's good building and lots of brick. The process through LEGO changes things through rules of building and part changes. We dreamed big and tried our best to keep those dreams alive all through the process. The reality is what is in the box and approved and built with stability.

Honestly you've seen, in the pics, less than half of what's in the box. While you may feel the skeleton has been done to death, it easily communicates OOO EVIL and contains lotsa useful building bits to make. As to classic space fans preferring closed airtight sets, you're right, and you'll get that. Classic Space sets we loved also had open cockpits. It's part of the genre. (so are "open back" bases and such) I hope you guys give these sets a look, we really think you'll like them. HAHAHAHA! sweet.
-
If LEGO choses that as an anime theme I guess you'd be happy then, or maybe not. We look forward to sharing more about the sets and the process and some good honest critique... this kinda OMG IT SUCKS ALREADY stuff will probably make that less likely.

Hiya, Put together a "devolved" version of the Classic Starfleet Voyager ship (the best of the best CS ships there ever was). It's 2x longer than the original with less cargo room. PCS is moving more towards the CS shape. Twas a fun build. Click here for the whole set. http://flickr.com/photos/fazoom/sets/72157603682704701/ Hope you enjoy it.
