  1. I totally agree with you. Lego technic is about creativity, giving some ideas a try. Of course one can built just from instructions that have been given by TLG but the whole fun and satisfaction starts when one tries to modify, share his/her ideas with others. This is why me as an adult chose Lego Technic as my hobby instead of whole ready built rc models industry (which is cheaper) just because Lego gives such big possibilities to modify and build my very own creations - MOCs. So when I see somebody complaining about something used or not used in a new lego set I just smile and laugh a little. This is what Lego is all about - MODYFYING, building MOCs.
  2. They might be usefull but fundamental question is if they have been made by TLG and meet Lego's quality requirements as we have seen some lego knockoffs on the market since several years ago.
  3. I have to say that I very appreciate The Boss entry but my favourite one is Highway Enforcer just because in my opinion The Enforcer has got the body that is more sophisticated, shows bigger creativity and gives the whole crawler a completely new look and character comparing to the original 9398 crawler. I like the colour scheme where you can see mainly two colours (black and white) nicely combined with the third dark gray (great effect achieved without stickers!). I simply love "the patrol car" character of the enforcer, have to congratulate crazy1993 his idea for the crawler and hope to see his entry as a new technic set in the end (also concerning parts and colours that he used). And also can't forget about two versions of the crawler: closed and opened. Once again my congrat's to crazy1993.
  4. As Lipko have said: The analogy is quite poor. I don't have a problem with anybody buying Lego clones at all. If anybody likes to buy clones or bricks of other producers than Lego - no problem for me. What is a serious problem is a lack of difference in appearance between Real Lego Technic and its fake clones. Plus it's illegal to clone, produce, make money out of products that already have its own style and brand. Plus some people are still unaware that such fakes with poor quality even exist. This all makes that all these Lego clones, fakes become a serious problem for Lego second hand market. For me decoo, bela and other crappy companies may produce its crappy bricks - no problem for me if they do not copy LEGO's ideas, styles, bricks, if they just make their own, unique, crappy bricks that are easily recognized and differed from Lego. And here I am serious: I think Lego should run a case in court against these companies that produce fake lego. Just because Lego customers, children, fans, Afols as well as Lego itself as a brand and company lose out of this sick situation. Someone should teach these cheaters a lesson.
  5. I've been watching discussions and threads over eurobricks for months but this one eventually pushed me to register and take part actively. I think these Lego Technic clones are rubbish, sh.t and may seriously be a big problem according to Lego Technic second hand market. When I was a child I got legendary Lego set with pneumatics 8443 and few years ago I decided to try and come back to Lego technic as an older person. I tried to modify this set 8443 and had an idea to make an rc model. I found a second hand market place in my city where I was able to buy Technic pieces for grams cheaper and didn't have to buy whole new sets (At that time for me it was a great opportunity as I was sure that Lego technic parts are unique and wasn't even considering existence of its clones). But further on I bought few new big and medium Lego Technic sets, lots of PF parts and so on. Now I have quite a big collection of nice Lego Technic sets but also a kilo or two of that old technic pieces from the second hand market. The problem is that I am not sure if my Lego technic collecton isn't mixed with rubbish decoo or something parts. How to recognize this rubbish (clones) pieces. I found that some parts (example pins) from my second hand market collection don't have a friction of my new (sure Lego Technic parts). All this creates my opinion that the ones who produce these clones should be banned and pay for it as a threat for others who may want to copy brand product whit sh.t quality. So eventually my question. Are these clones sets, parts recognizable? We may come to a situation that all second hand market of lego technic (amazon, e-bay) may be mixed with rubbish clones of poor quality and you wouldn't even be able to recongnize and differ ORIGINAL LEGO from a poor clone. It's sad. Then you have to stick to new lego sets.
