  1. Welcome to Eurobricks!!! See you around the Pirate forum.
  2. Welcome to Eurobricks!!!
  3. Welcome to Euro Bricks!!!
  4. Welcome to the Pirates Forum You can't go wrong with the imperial flagship! There are also many examples of great sip MOC's around here if you are interested in building your own.
  5. I am probably 80% Lego Pirate. It was the main theme I played with as a child. I have some Lego Castle, mostly minifigs that fit with the pirate theme. The other 20% of my collection is unopened Star Wars Sets. If Lego Star Wars was around in my youth I would have only collected that (I use to make some awful ATAT's and actually a good x-wing out of misc parts). My wife and I are trying to have children now and I am collecting the Star Wars Lego for our future children (in hopes they will like it). I am looking forward to "re-living" my childhood with my children and playing with the Star Wars Lego I would have killed for in my youth.
  6. This is easy for me, Classic all the way! That being said there are some new parts that I will use from POTC with my MOCS.
  7. This is one of the coolest MOCS ever. I LOVE IT!!! Amazing work, for a moment I was looking at one of the interior shots and thought "ok, where is the lego version and realized I was looking at Lego and not a screne cap".
  8. No Worries, I think my tips are for those who want a Large collection 50+ Minifigs. On the flip side if you bought a bunch of torsos and did nothing with them, they would probably go up in value once discontinued. Good Luck, I look forward to seeing what you come up with
  9. Ah welcome to Army Building, it's nice if you don't have a lot of time for MOCing. But be prepared it's EXPENSIVE! As everyone else has mentioned e-bay and bricklink are the way to go. Here are my suggestions 1. Pick one or two torso's you really want(it's better if they are still in production). It's even better if they are part of a cheaper set (ie impulse) or in multiple sets as that drives the price down. 2. Usually the hardest part to collect is the torso, since the legs, headgear and weapons tend to be used over and over again. My advice is to buy as many of the torso's as possible while they are still in production and lower in price. Once you have enough (can army builders ever have enough?) start buying your legs, heads, headgear and weapons in bulk. This is where patience is important, it can take a few years to build your army this way but you don't have to deal with your soldier being out of print if you do it this way. I have a few hundred Imperial soldier Torso's, epaulettes and Shakos stashed away with no weapons, legs or heads. I can add the rest whenever, but the other parts are essentially off the shelves. 3. Buy in Bulk. I put the hard parts to collect in "my wanted" list on bricklink and set the minimum number of parts I want. When I see that a store has a large number of that part I buy the whole lot. Sometimes I will contact the seller and see if they will give a discount if I buy the entire lot. I usually get 10% off. Its a good deal for me and an easy order for the store to process (only one lot and I bought them out so no need to count). The exception to this is when the price is really good or it's a hard to find part and I don't want to risk someone else getting them, in that case I will buy them ASAP. I got 50 blue imperial torsos' for about $1.40 each, a great deal that I bought while on my smart phone at dinner one night when I got the brinklink e-mail. That was a huge score for an army builder and I did not want to risk losing it. 4. Watch e-bay, sometimes you get lucky 5. Watch out for the torsos from China, I stopped buying the Red imperial Torso's once the cheap ones from china came out. I hope this helps, good luck and I will see you on the battlefield.
  10. Congrats Admiral! Now how much rum is it going to take to bribe you?
  11. Just got a brinklink order (took almost a month to get it ) I will update with some new pics in a few days.
  12. I found your post this morning just as I was taking my first sip of coffee. So to that I say "Cheers". If what you are saying is true, then that is very funny about one of the employee's coffee addiction.
  13. Looks like a great review of the "Golden" age of pirate Lego. Those 1st 4 sets that were releases in 1989 will always be my favorite. Thanks for Sharing.
  14. Just bought 5 SW hoth battle paks, $2.00 off each at target!
  15. I have a few more pics I am playing around with different ways to do the stairs as you can see above. I ran out of the gold parts to complete the roof on the smaller building (bricklink here I come). As far as using the small gold statues, I will see where they fit best as I come closer to completing the MOC. For know I have just put them here and there. Here is a pic from the back I will add more pics as I get time to build some more
  16. Welcome to Euro Bricks! I look forward to seeing you over on the pirate board. The website bricklink is great for getting bricks and parts. You might do ok on ebay if you hit it right for pirate sets.
  17. That would be me, I did not realize you could see all that on bricklink. That's cool. I was surprised by the 36,000. I had bought that store out of them last month (2,700) So that means he had at least 38,700 at some point. I will see what I can do on the Bird, not too hopeful.
  18. I wish I could do the Condor I am not sure I get it, could you explain a little more? Thanks. 48 by 48 Baseplate Thanks! so far I would say I have spent around $200 US. There is a lot of Gold Jumpers and other parts that are sitting in bags still. I spent an average of $.04 for each jumper. I am not including the baseplate or the black and grey brick I am using for support since I had it already. Simple, go to Bricklink 1x2 jumpers for sale You are correct Sir!
  19. Looks good, I always love to see the Blue Coats. Even though you had a limited number of bricks your MOC looks great, I really like to boat.
  20. Star Trek is for Nerds. Says the man with a half dozen Master Replica Lightsabers on display in his office I think as everyone above has stated, its more about the stability and minifig scale that has stopped Star Trek from being popular in Lego. If you are succsessful I would love to see some MOC's. Good Luck and "May the force be with you" or if you prefer in your nerd terms "live long and prosper"
  21. Welcome to Euro Bricks! I look forward to seeing some of your MOCS.
  22. I agree, I like the new bow, hate it as the stern. I don't really care what the ship looks like, I will most likley buy it and use it for MOCs. As long as it has some cool parts and good sails I will be happy
  23. Welcome to Euro Bricks! I really like your MOC. The boat looks great and the colors look really clean and sharp together. Even in times of war opposing armies often traded goods. Of course only a red coat would be dumb enough to allow the enemy into their port
  24. Thanks, I am doing just that. I think there are a number of parts that will be helpful with building the roofs. I am not going to rush this MOC. I am going to finish the two buildings I am working on and then experiment with different techniques and parts to try to make some different looking buildings. Once I have some samples of other ideas I will post them and would appreciate any feedback on them.
