Very nice work! Looks alot like te one from the film. I can't seem to get the other pictures to work though.

Cool, I'm actually in America. I live on the east coast so there are alot of conventions around me.
-
I'm actually the treasurer of the "Cosplay Club" at my college. I make several different types of costumes (ranging from otaku, to period wear, to other more specialized ones) and may even be taking commisions for fursuits in the fall. Our group will be going to our first convention together this summer :)

I've always loved the more animalistic designs myself... So, I think we could use more of them ;) Malum always reminded me of an ape. I got the feeling he was supposed to walk on all fours likea gorilla, using thyose claws as knuckles but mabe that is just me. A ccouple of the toa from the pit resembles things too. Like Hewkee always looked like a sea-urchin to me.

RIOT!!!! Hahaha This is very cool. Be really awesome to do with some more scenery. The guys in the back flipping the car are funny :)
-
Maybe it is just me but I'd like to see more stuff that isn't some kind of vehicle. I detested the GG set but I think it was a step in the right direction. Maybe more character sets like that or a huge 3d wall mural? Maybe showing different scenes like the deathstar but flat-ish so it can hang on the wall. Like maybe all different scenes from the clone wars.

No clue what these are but they're neat. Be really cool if they were in alot of colors.

Cool, it looks good. I don't know alot about the newer star wars stuff but it kinda looks alittle skinny to me. The one from birckmaster is proportionally wider. My little lego one also has a bunch of guns on its sides, not sure if they are really meant to be there or not. Just stuff I noticed that I thought might help you.

"Your first (And next) giant builds"
Kakihara Smile replied to darkrebellion's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm not one to build sets just because they're big but because I like them instead. So, the biggest set I've built was the recent castle village/market. The shop at home exclusive one. Took me a while to build, just me at the table with the parts all dumped in a tiny shoebox. Probably close to 7-8 hours with a lunch break in between. My method was certainly a hinderance for speed but it made it more challenging. I remember searching for a single piece for like fives minutes in that tiny shoebox ;) -
Is there line to be drawn when making MOCs?
Kakihara Smile replied to Derek's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Lego may be art but it is first and foremost a children's toy. So I'm against some things being created in lego. I find it poor taste given the medium's first intetion is to appeal to children. -
"Angry Mob Supplies" Ha! Gotta love it!!! Piles of dynamite are always fun. Booooom :)

You can only get that kind of "help" from lovely little siblings... or cats ;) I live on a farm and have 15 of the furry "helpers" that love to just bat my pieces away.

I think it is a de-stress method for alot of people, myself included ;) I was actually wondering if that was one of the reasons a person would build alone even if they had the option of building with someone else (like you do).
-
As I was sitting at my desk getting all my castle stuff back out the other day I got to wondering... Do you typically build legos with another person or do you build alone? I understand that there are communities, groups, and such that do it occasionaly. However, I got to wondering about the everyday building. I used to build with my sister all the time when I was young. Even now, my mate seems less than interested in legos and would probably never build them. So I pondered... Do you build alone or with another person?

I must be like the only person who liked the speed racer legos ;) I loved the silly car designs, even if they were far from the silly car designs of the movie. Agents gets best set overall though. They really had a phenomenal line. With robot arms, their stuffed full command base, and all the creative vehicles (really liked the jet).... Plus there was a shark with a gatling gun on it's head. How cool is that!

The heros have gotten worse and worse. Kopaka from 08 is probably the pinacle of boring design though. He just sums up the same design we'd seen a bunch of time already. The others are also boringly similar but Kopaka stands as the leader in "rehash." Not to mention using those legs as arms... What were the designers on when they did that ;) While the heros have been practically the same, the villains have been varied and dynamic. The barraki especially. Each was unique and different, even if some of the designs were lacking (I'm looking at you Pridak). The makuta also found a way to be unique (the leg designs), despite the fact most of them had the same torso. 09 Looks like we will get another mix of the boring same old same old and a few really innovative sets.

The old horse works but it could definantly be improved upon. I like the old horse alot but if they could add more articulation, I'd be all for a new design. The new cow... Pure love.

The fact teridax was defeated AT ALL makes him weak... He was the ultimate master of shadow and then he just fell so very short of actually living up to that. And I don't care what greg wrote and what greg didn't. The movies were made, they exist, and they can be considered in all their badness. Also, look at any fight with the makuta... They never actually have the upper hand they claim too. Not only have the makuta not been able to win but a few battles, they've only won against non main characters (like botar). They, like teridax, have failed to fill the shoes left out for them. 08 failed to me. It failed hard and it failed long. I'm actually annoyed the site hasn't reset yet so we can get it over with. Still, I wonder if I had loved 08, if anybody would have responded to my post...

Yeah, I think this year did fail. I also couldn't stand the story. The only part even worth paying attention too has been the online serial with mazeka. The nuva were useless in the story (they couldn't fight very well and ended up failing) and in the end, the makuta were both stupid and pathetic (they were outsmarted by teridax, a weak villain who has been beaten almost a dozen times already). Seriously, a villain like teridax does not do bionicle justice, not anymore anyway. He just ended up be as lame a disappointment as he was in 04. I dunno, I still like the sets but the story has lost the magic from 06. I hope next year is better.

Count me in too!!!

It is MUCH easier if you blow the image up to full size and not use the reduced one. I saw 15-16 because I forgot if I counted one thing or not.

I need agents ideas please!
Kakihara Smile replied to user's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I added to my mobile command center a gun rack and some extra cabinets. If I had bought the volcano base I'd have probably have added a set of "docks" for the two exoforce style mechs I made for my agent's badguys. Other ideas include computers, maybe some kind of little lab with odd robots, or a cage with a monster in it. Sleeping quarters or an armory are also decent ideas. Just tossing out ideas for you. -
It is a nice design. I tend to try and simplify things instead of make them more complex. So, I like this one because it is not made out of a bijillion little tiny parts. I wonder if it could be simpler and still have that look though.

Renaming Bionicle beings...
Kakihara Smile replied to Ikki o' Moopyville's topic in LEGO Action Figures
The only name I CANNOT stand is Teridax... Every time I see it I think "Terry-Dax" and I can't stand the names based on english names. I could keep the basic structure though and maybe make it something like Tryedax (T-Rye-Dax) or Teradax (Tear-A-Dax). -
In the new Lego Club Magazine...
Kakihara Smile replied to Dadster's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Lego has been known to make goofs before... I don't have the mag yet but I'll look for all those things when I get it.
