Has anyone seen any Hulkbuster Smash sets on the shelves lately? Checking the Gold Coast around the Southport and Broadbeach areas, there are nooooone, and haven't been for ages. -

Slow shipping (I seriously don't mind waiting 4 weeks) is only US$22.50 or something. Add-in the Shipito handling fee and that's $130 for two sets. Bear in mind that I also purchased the Hayabusa, which is not available to Australia on Shop@home. That alone would be $70 + shipping for the set on Bricklink and the cheapest I have found on eBay is $90 incl. shipping. The biggest thing is I am not paying $70 for a Lego DeLorean. That can take a long trip up the backside of a buffalo. Yes, the added shipping cost eats up a lot of the money I save, but.... Not paying $70 for a Lego DeLorean. -

I got the email this morning - my order has shipped. It's in FedEx's trusting hands as we speak... -

Here's a sale for you... Change Shop@Home region to United States. Order DeLorean for $34.99 and Hayabusa for $49.99 (which isn't available to Australia, unless you pay $70 on Bricklink). Oh, and pay sales tax of $7.65 for California. In AU dollars that's $103.51. Send to Shipito address and have it forwarded to me for about US$55, I would expect. That $69.99 price for the DeLorean in Australia is a bit too much to swallow, I think. -

I price-matched K-mart on a set that was on-sale (but sold out) at Toyworld at X-mas time. A lot of shops do it. -

Check out the instructions for the 9493 X-Wing. 160MB!!! Good quality, though. -

I highly doubt that they would get an extra discount at sale time. No retail mob I've ever worked for has done this. But on the bright side, staff discounts are cheaper any time you want them without having to wait for a sale. Unless of course the product you want has a back-end rebate, which will sometimes mean that the ticket price is lower than staff price. You get that a lot with things like computers. -

It's funny how the reseller market went nuts for them a few months ago, then they popped up on the Lego Shop again, and... there they are, on a shelf at EB Games. You'd be pretty upset if you stockpiled a couple of them hoping to let them appreciate greatly in value. If you strip away the Minecraft branding, it's as you say, a mess of small bricks. Probably cost you $20 to assemble the parts on Bricklink. -

Speaking of EB, their store Australia Fair (Gold Coast) has Minecraft Lego sets in-stock. About $75 each I think. A lot of money to pay for a box of Lego that small. -

Thanks AB, that's an excellent suggestion. -

But I just bought one, after a month dealing with problem eBay sellers and people on Bricklink who wouldn't respond to my queries, I caved and bought one off the Lego Shop, and padded the order to make the free shipping limit. -

Cheers for that. It looks like Myer is the place to get it. Are you kidding? How much are they there? -

Does anyone know who has the Technic 42000 Grand Prix Racer in stock? I know that Toys R Us has it but I want to know if there are any other shops stocking it so I can grab one at a 20% off sale in the coming weeks. Thanks! -
Ah, I see that this question has been asked a million times before! Thanks for the links guys, I appreciate it.

I went to my parent's place this evening and decided I wanted to dig out my Technic 8880 set and have a build, for old time's sake. Upon bringing it home and looking in the box, I was greeted with this: Here is a 'white' 4x1 plate on top of a newer X-Wing: And... wait for it! The same piece next to a new white element and a new tan element. So I started this thread to see if anyone had any good tips or ideas regarding the cleaning and restoring of old pieces like this. I'd like to know about old grey as well, I have plenty of pieces in that colour that have turned into something closer to manky grey than their original splendour. Also, how would one go about washing the dust off a thousand little Technic pieces without losing them down the drain? I'd like to get stuck into this before I go ahead and assemble the set again.
-
My opinion may sound harsh, but the thing is, if they didn't want to dig through lots and lots of Lego pieces to make a sale, then surely they would not open a shop on Bricklink. Either that or they will just tell you that they won't do it. Not long ago I pieced up a police helicopter that came as part of a police station set from the 90s. The order looked really long and annoying for one of this, three of that, totalling to about $7. Worth it? For me, yes. For the poor guy assembling my order? Not my problem...!

I saw a heap of Galaxy Squad at Big W Runaway Bay on Thursday. No idea what's what, because I don't follow it. -

If anyone's interested in the Shuttle Expedition set, my local K-Mart (Southport, Gold Coast) had none on the shelf when I looked on the weekend. If you want to buy one, I suggest you don't wait for a sale and get one ASAP. They might have more coming, then again they probably don't. Either way, it is not worth missing out on. -

K-Mart has a sale on with a few TMNT sets and others a couple of bucks off. -
The customer was very rude to me, at least it came across that way in the messages. I explained the situation and told him he should be more polite. He apologised. All good.

If anyone is interested, K-mart in Southport on the Gold Coast still has bucket loads of the SW Planet Series Cloud Car and they're down to $8. It might be the same for other K-marts as well. A good orange piece battle pack if anyone wants that many orange pieces.... and that many ugly Bespins to hang up or use as chew toys for your dog. -

Just knock a set worth $20 off the order, then buy it locally. -
Hi everyone. I would like to know if anyone has a good suggestion for the best way to deal fairly with a problem with a buyer. The situation is this: I am in Australia and the buyer is in the USA. He purchased something from me worth $5, but did not make enquiries beforehand regarding the shipping cost. I invoiced him $13.70 for postage, which is the cheapest and easiest shipping option (I make no profit from this myself) bringing the total to $18.70. This morning I recieved a message telling me to cancel it bcasue the shipping cost is "rediculous." I have not yet responded or taken any action. What should my next step be?

I got mine 2nd-hand off eBay, no box, stickers, instructions or carriage for US$130, plus US$40 to ship it to Australia in a poly bag. That was the last cheap one I saw... Good value considering they go for over $250 new.

Triple Review Special: 60002 - Fire Truck
Rare White Ape replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Town
Hi. I'm new here. I think this truck looks just like a Sasgar Type B: http://www.sasgar.com.au/fire-fighting-vehicles/typeb AKA an 'Alpha' appliance for Queensland Fire and Rescue Service. Which is quite neat because the truck from the 60003 set it a splitting image of the 'Juliette' ladder trucks used by QFRS. A perfect pair! http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=60003-1
