  1. I'm not a member of a LUG. I want to join the Brickish Association but apparently you cannot do so without owning a checkbook(!). Not to crazy about acquiring one so sent them a mail asking for alternate payment methods but got no response :/
  2. Nice! Great use of rubber bands, got to remember that
  3. Awesome! Where's the skull piece from?
  4. I got 7 The Zombies yesterday, currently considering if I should build one or not :/ Also got the new Sail barge for my 3 year old son. I really like the new model and the new hair piece for Leia is amazing. It's way to expensive for the parts though. I took the new Jabba fig from the set to keep it sealed, and disassembled an old jabba for my son to buld, he didn't notice and so I may sell the jabba to cut the cost :)
  5. So now I have to disassemble the set and go through it piece by piece to carefully inspect each part for cracks, that will take me at least an hour (if optimistic). Personally I would also feel bad re-selling this set without disclosing these facts, which probably will take from its value. Can Lego really get around UK consumer laws by replacing the parts?
  6. Almost 30% of the white pieces in my #10225 R2-D2 cracked while building, even large ones like *both* of the 2x2x3 bricks. Called customer support and they want me to send them the cracked pieces and they will replace them one by one... That is extremely unsatisfactory for such an expensive product, especially when I don't know if they will all eventually crack (most of the set is white pieces) :( Edit: Only other instance of cracked pieces I can remember is that all but one of the 1x2 medium blue tiles in my #6862 Quinjet cracked on the sides while building, that is worrying but not as devastating as the R2 situation. I doubt there is anything in my environment as other sets/parts in my collection are fine.
  7. I googled this quite recently and I read somewhere that the bricks clutch together stronger when left on display for a long time, and the problem first starts when you take it apart. It was anecdotal (someone who worked at Lego said...), but I'm too scared now to store my bricks in stacks :)
  8. My name is Ask (yes, really). I'm from Norway, but currently living in London where I work as a software developer. I used to love lego as a child, I remember being crazy about the big pirate ship (late 1980/90 something), it was all I ever wanted for christmas, but my parents bought me the Playmobil one instead. I can still feel the disappointment to this day :( So now I have a kid of my own, a boy of soon to be 3 years. He started with Duplo, but didn't like it that much, so I tried buying a Lego set. After we built the first set me we immediately wanted to build more so we bought the big new police station that same day and had an awesome evening together. Since then I've been buying Lego for hundreds of dollars a month, and I'm sure I will find a pirate ship some day :) My interests are Space, Pirates,Castle and Superheroes. I never really liked Star Wars, as I'm not that into fantasy, but I do actually like Lego Star Wars, it's better than the real thing.
  9. I really like this style. Surreal and cinematic
