  1. Thanks for emphasizing my point.
  2. My Own Train is hardly comparable to a one-off, licensed set which blows most people’s budget out of the water. When many train fans aren’t interested in the first steam engine in years, you know you’ve screwed up.
  3. The could have released the carriages as a separate set, like they use to do back in the day. And then also released a decent steam engine as at the same time, like an EN re-release or something. It would’ve satisfied so many people. Missed opportunity.
  4. This is exactly what they should have done in my opinion. Released the OE carriages as one set, and released the Sapphire Star (based on the EN) separately. We’d get an iconic set that many missed out on, an engine that looks fantastic, and an engine with the appropriate brick count, and a known quantity for powering. The people who don’t care for the engine (“the OE was pulled by many different engines” etc) would be happy because they wouldn’t need to invest in an engine they didn’t want. I feel like the price of this set will put it out of reach for many people. And then there’s the engine which has clearly been sacrificed. Separating them out would give people greater ability to purchase what the want.
  5. Yes, but nobody cares about the details.
  6. You can bring in goods up to the value of $700 and they will be tax free.
  7. Looks good Lazarus.
  8. Or TLG could recognise that a little investment now could benefit them in the future. Developing some new, varied sets (particluar add on's, at mentioned) may encourge more people to buy into the train products. TLG have the ability to develop a new, true gauge of model train. Do it!
  9. Hello West Islanders :P I'm coming over to Brisbane/Gold Coast for two weeks in September. Are there any shops in particular I should look for Lego? Thanks.
  10. Grabbed palace cinema and pet shop. Happy.
  11. Haven't seen the Palace Cinema at my local; or the Pet Shop for that matter. I'm after both.
  12. IQ Toys reigns supreme in terms of NZ Lego sales. Always at least 20% off.
  13. My request list is endless! Could definately be keen on some polys. Where in New Zealand are you moving to?
  14. NZ ripped off as usual, $400NZD Sigh.
  15. Does the instruction book not have PF instructions? That's really short sighted by Lego if it doesn't.
  16. Why would you even think about getting it from within Australia at that price. Just order one from overseas. Doesn't take that long to arrive. Also, if you don't care about the box get the seller to repackage it into something smaller and you may save a bit more.
  17. How much cheaper did you find bricklinking the red EN compared to bricklinking the green EN?
  18. Go with 9v. As Lazarus said it gives you more options in the long run.
  19. You'd expect at least a yellow sticker on the clearance items though. I'm not going to go in store and scan items until I find one on clearance.
  20. There was nothing at my local WH (Wellington city); no was there any indication of a sale in the first instance.
  21. 25% off at Toyco at the moment. Not all sets are on special though. Free shipping for orders over $100.
  22. I imagine there must be some sort of Waitangi sale this week.
  23. Excellent work, it looks fantastic.
  24. You could have PM'd that little rant, too, as it is 'rather rude'. Good luck with the Emerald Night, MizFinn.
