    OoC: I apologize, truly just trying to learn the system, so maybe this is dumb - should Bers have gotten an opportunity attack, even though they also got a regular attack? "Kirwin, do what you will do. I don't want to lose him here, but I think you are right to prepare for that, should it happen." Merei turns to Yissam♥ and Bers. "That being said, I'd like him to stay. Let's make that happen." She turns to Raymond. "Please. Stay." She casts gravity fissure on Raymond, trying to yank him to D1. If it works, she steps to E2.

    My only question is I'm not sure what "build: 16" means? Also, RAW, I can't split movement, right? So I can't move over to Yissam, take an action, and then back to my spot? It says "once per turn when applicable." Also, finally, Tarrian mentioned a Haast red speeder. I understand that as totally different from Raymond's, yes? Merei watches the others spring into action. She walks over to Yissam♥ (F2). "Control him, please." She says quietly as she rallies Yissam♥. She then raises her voice. "My adamite friends! Do not be concerned with stopping him with your bodies! I will watch over your health!"

    Seeing Bers to move to intercept, and seeing Yissam♥ take up a position at the door, Merei hangs back, hovering near the kitchen door in case the punk makes a break for it. OoC: I don't know if we can ready an action or not, or what sort of impact that'd have on the first round, but it looks like Bers is going to try to play things cool for now. So I won't mess around with that quite yet.

    I've been giving spirit recharge some thought - I think we all agree it's not great that its recharge is tied to battle when it has out of battle application. Could we possibly instead tie it to something like "benchmark completion?" That could be a battle, or that could be solving a situation through other means. It'd be a little more for the MM to consider, but I don't think it'd be too much more, and would allow for it to be used out of battle for more utility purposes.

    "Not potentially help you out. Will help you. We don't deal in potentials. What sort of help do you need? I think you've heard the speeder we're looking for. Who has it? And why does that make you nervous? What are you holding back?"

    Totally cool, AND very generous! And again, just speaking for myself - this was an intentional muck up, but if I ever just really drop the ball by accident, I'm cool with living with the consequences of that too. Also happy to wait a second if CMP wants to resolve streamer conversation - that's the tough thing of online - don't want to blow past anyone else's good moments.

    Don't want to keep going back and forth OoC in thread, but again, the dramatic irony is 100% intentional. Merei is like "this dude wants to crack skulls, I'll pull him in to show Flo we can defend her!" I, Zepher, the player, understand this will be misconstrued as a threat, even though Merei absolutely does not. It is, in short, a joke.

    OoC: My own clarifications. 1) Maybe this was left ambiguous purposefully, but what do you mean by "interest in labor union sympathies." Like, they are scared the members will want to unionize? Or that's a pro? Or they're just asking, and it's not clear if they are for or against. Happy to do some legalize check if it's purposefully ambiguous, or also happy to just be told nothing on the form indicates it one way or the other. As for my OWN ambiguity, that's 100% purposeful. Merei always sounds sweet. She thinks she's simply offering an opportunity to be honest. But yeah, obviously she said it in a vaguely threatening way, even if she doesn't know that. I am happy to have you rule it however you see fit / however Flo takes it! In general feel free to always run things (for me, at least) as what you think is the most appropriate check. If I'm REALLY desperately angling for a specific check, I'll make it clear, but even feel free to override that if you feel it's right!

    OoC: I really want to look over that paperwork, but I don't think being overtly duplicitous is in Merei's nature, unfortunately hahaha. "I am not sure I'd be able to join your organization due to prior commitments," Merei tells Tarrian, a trace a genuine apology and deflation in her voice. While valuing her word to Heroica, she doesn't like it when avenues of exploration are closed to her. "Perhaps one day in the future, however, when my circumstances have changed. Would it be possible to see the paperwork, so I can make an informed decision should that time ever come?" She turns her attention back to Flo, rapping gently on Bers' leg under the bar as she does so, drawing his attention with her. "Are you nervous about something, Flo? Were those with the speeder dangerous? To you? To us? My friend Bers here is very good at defending anyone he considers a friend. Do you consider him a friend? Friends help friends."

    Thanks, WBD! Already having a blast! Knew of course CMP would bring some fire, but like I said up top I'm really enjoying both our robotic-esque new pals too! Excited to see how people who share a race (there are so many of them this time, with big histories too!) play off of each other and highlight similarities/differences!

    Merei glows warmly upon seeing her friends take a direct approach, even if the results are a little lackluster. Before she returns her attention to Tarrian, she tries to get a read on Flo. Is she being sincere? "Our eyes can do wonders. Even might be able to do what a broken security camera can do. You don't happen to recall anyone coming around with a blue speeder, very very new? Haast, of course. Menahi. The best." She says this loud enough for the others at the bar to hear. As she returns her gaze to Tarrian, she tries to recall if joining another guild would in any way violate her vows to Heroica (which... maybe a history check, but it's pretty recent history, so I don't know if you want to let that slide hahaha). If she believes that joining another guild would not break any promises she made to Heroica, she asks to see the paperwork.

    Merei tries to recall if she has any information on Wolfclaw. She hasn't lived a sheltered life, exactly, but there are many new terms being thrown around quickly. Hi-Pluvvon, Port Drandora... many things she recognizes in name only. Not to mention people named Yissam♥ and JanineXoX... "I'm never uninterested," she answers. "What sort of work do you generally do? Any jobs of interest recently?"

    "I will take the same, please." "Registration for what?" Merei asks curiously. As she waits for a response she whispers to Kirwin. "Good find, good work, bad news for us. We can see if anyone has seen anything. Or simply ask to see the recordings - either the diner is in on things, which I hope not, given the milkshakes, or they would have no reason to simply let us take a look. My approach would be to be open, and see what happens, but I will follow the group's wisdom."

    Really enjoying Bers' two quests for booze and murder, both of which keep not working out for them! And Decker looks great, Endgame! Looking over the quests so far I think most parties are gonna need a bit of a heavy hitter tank sort of situation, glad to see some folks going for it!

    "It's a good thing you still have credits, Bers. I will have to remember this in the future, in case I need to buy some food." Merei says as she takes a seat at the bar. She lowers her voice, but keeps an eye on the other patrons, particularly the valtar. "I don't know what you believe would be the best approach. It comes to mind that Haast is a Menahi company. Given my lineage, it'd be easy to pose as a member of the company and see if that sparks any interest." She says Haast quietly, but she isn't sure how quiet - she watches to see if the valtar hears, and, if so, if it reacts in any way to the name.

    "Good work," Merei says vaguely to everyone. "If the speeder's tracker is close, that is good. It may not be in the speeder, or it may be." Merei clocks Bers enjoying the music and begins to hum along. "I would be happy to assist you, Kirwin, in attempting to figure out what happened to the camera. Perhaps taking a look at the wiring? I imagine that will be difficult, however. I am good at Aether, not the physical installation of objects. As such, I believe I will be better utilized inside. I can read people better than I can wires. And it'd be a good idea for me to keep an eye on things in there." She directs her gaze calmly at Bers, not in condemnation of the violence he threatens, but just... careful about it. "Let us step inside. Kirwin, join us when you are ready. I think you are right to follow up here."

    "I appreciate the credits," says Merei. "The probability less so. It is either there, or it is not, and we will know which way it is when we arrive. No point creating troubling hypotheticals." Merei promptly returns the credits to Bers, thankfully accepting the bun from Yissam♥. "That is another way to go about things. It's apparent what you will bring to the team. Thank you, Yissam♥, Antony." The flames that compose her face peel back a little to create a quasi-mouth, about where a mouth ought to be, and she holds the sausage close. It burns as she takes a bite. "Delicious. I am ready to go."

    I wouldn't worry about the timing too much! If there are enough sign-ups (and there might be - there are some people in the Hall, and hopefully new members will be drawn in!) then the quest will go forward. If there aren't, WBD can put it off. Easy peasy. Hopefully there will be some others who host quests too, to take the burden off just WBD and Kinto. Hopefully one day I will join the ranks! Also: enjoying how tense the battles are so far! KoTZ, I'm sorry to see you go down a few times, but I like the feeling of danger. I didn't feel super in danger in Heroica 1.0 - don't want to constantly die, but like the threat, personally!

    "Free public transport. I appreciate that." Merei makes no move to take the keys, looking expectantly at Kirwin instead. "I would like nothing more than to sample your wares, but I am low on credits. Excuse me just a moment." She steps over to Yissam♥ or Bers, and asks if she can borrow 2 credits from either of them. She promises to pay them back as soon as the mission is resolved.

    Merei's face, with its single "iris," is difficult to read, but her deep laughter and the way her flaming head flares with pleasure is not. "I will hope for that as well." Merei, upon hearing the thing is a prototype and doesn't actually belong to Antony, tries to determine if he is telling the truth or is trying to slyly get them to steal something. "We will do our best to recover your speeder, and with as little damage as possible," she says, her iris shifting to Bers briefly. "As the others have said, the tracker seems like it would be beneficial, should the situation change. Besides that, you need only tell us how to get to the Red Comet, and we will be on our way." Merei also looks at what appears to be a food cart next to Antony, seeing what they sell and prices.

    OoC: Down 10 credits, up an Essence of Intellect. Merei hums along, very quietly, to the music piped into the Docking Terminal, glancing around at the city out the window. Unsure if she is being captured by it, she waves minutely to Yissam♥'s camera, but otherwise hangs back like Kirwin, letting the charismatic streamer take the lead. She leans over to Kirwin. "Are you able to pilot things?" she asks. "I have driven before, but it isn't my best strength. It seems wise that we would assess our strengths now, and see where we each fit in. That is, after all, why we are assigned as teams. I believe." She looks forward again to Yissam♥. "She will serve well as a person who can talk to others, assuming they are of the right persuasion. We will have to be considerate of their sensibilities. And your fellow Adamite seems to be the bulkiest of our numbers, a protector. Meaning only you and I must determine what we can provide." Reflecting on her own words, Merei attempts to use insight to see if Antony appears impressed by Yissam♥, or if he is put off by her torrent of compliments, subtle-put-downs, and product-placement.

    Before leaving on her mission, Merei buys an essence of intellect, reducing her credits to 0.

    Merei scoops up her holocubes, having never gotten around to ordering a drink. She bows respectfully to Aysu as she passes. "Our meeting will have to wait for another time," she says as she follows Yissam♥ and Kirwin out of the Hall. She hangs at the doorway a moment, locking her vision on Bers. "You should be accompanying us too. I won't rush you, but don't dawdle either, please."

    Phew! Was away without internet for a few days, was nervous I'd miss the boat for the mission. Looks like I'm back just in time! LETS GOOOOO! Glad to be back with Kinto and CMP, excited to adventure with some new blood too!
