  1. Haha! But really, it's an inspiring idea that you've had, or else I wouldn't want to pinch it!
  2. Ah, but you see I'm concerned about the weight of solid gold golems; it might be a disadvantage when traversing the desert sands. Allow me to explain. Your gold golems are essentially lumps of animated gold, correct? Their animation relies on their entire form being enchanted to move, yes? My proposal is not nearly as grounded in magic to animate. Instead of a golem, the construct is more like an automaton. Plates of metal wrap around magical circuitry, linking to a crystal core, effectively making the construct lighter. I visualise it like this; gold golems have magic running through their whole form, while gold constructs will have a larger mass of magic in the core, with small quantities flowing throughout the body. So you see, they're not really the same. Similar? Maybe. But not similar enough to be manufactured by the same person.
  3. Hmmm...I wonder what the crystal's for...
  4. Yep, that would be the one!
  5. Golden golems! Brilliant! I may even have...borrow...this idea for Kaliphlin.
  6. How about either the Wither-Woods or the Dry-Woods for the small foresty-area that the Oil Road goes through?
  7. At the dusty borders of Kaliphlin, where no sane Petraean would venture to, lies a wide expanse of near unhospitable land. Yet, a few groups of warriors inhabit the area, testing their skills against the monsters of the desert, and guarding the border of Kaliphlin domain, lest the other Guilds invade. In a place where the sun beats down mercilessly, and speed is of the utmost importance, the ‘outposts’ of the border are little but shelters, consisting of ruined remains of watchtowers long since fallen into disrepair. Barrels of long-lasting food are kept in the cooler shade, and the warriors that wander from outpost to outpost are always ready to move quickly amongst the countless ‘towers’ that line the border I'm not sure what to do with the back...ideas please! Also, my exams are coming up in the next few weeks, so this is probably the most I'll be able to do.
  8. I'm a little confused as to what it fires exactly...it looks like it fires no projectiles right now!
  9. That might do more harm than good when it comes to negotiations...
  10. You would do well to keep a civil tongue, lest you bring the full might of Kaliphlin upon you and your Guild. The Keeper of Secrets is an ancient entity, and it's power lies not in physical might, but in magic, more powerful than you Drow can comprehend! Amirite, Jorgevorg?
  11. My lords, It seems to me that the other guilds regard us as an excellent trading partner...I haven't detected much hostility towards us, while there has been some problems between the other guilds. Perhaps we could use this to our advantage? We should expand our trading routes to maximise this. Velethuil - Captain of the Kaliphlin Elf-Knights
  12. Wow! I really like the pulley system; makes it look like it could really work!
  13. I have an idea for desert 'watch towers'. Basically, they just constitute of dozens of ruins dotting the landscape mocked up into makeshift shelters. Most of the time, these shelters are just a wall with some sort of covering to provide some shade, and serve as a temporary resting place for the desert guards. There's some long lasting food and water and occasionally weapons in these shelters, but security is negligible - after all, only the bravest and craziest warriors wander the desert, leaving no room for thieves. What do you guys think?
  14. So many Orc kings...wouldn't it be easier to settle for chieftains instead of kings?
  15. My lords, I bring news concerning the gathering forces of our enemies. Our Elvish spellcasters (indeed, we have mages as well as warriors amongst us), have scryed that the opposing guilds now have war machines, and intimidating beasts on their side; dragons, trolls and others. Perhaps it is time for us to obtain such things as well... Velethuil, Captain of the Kaliphlin Elf-Knights
  16. I'm not sure how set in stone the locations are, but Thrashq4g posted a nice mock-up on Flickr. Link is below. If I'm correct, our location is highlighted in yellow. On a separate note, I like the idea of having two types of armies; the more uniform soldiers of the city, and the ragtag, mobile warriors collected from all over the lands. And then there's the topic of magic. How much magic are we talking here? LOTR magic or Eragon magic or D and D magic?
  17. So awesome! Just how did the gladiator get on top of the pillar?
  18. Hail, Guildsmen of Kaliphlin! I am Velethuil, Captain of the Kaliphlin Elf-Knights. I command a legion of noble Elvish warriors that are stationed mainly in Petraea, but occasionally ride out to patrol the other cities, as well as the Oil Road. Although fighting off bandits and the like has been the extent of our battles, I am sure that with our martial prowess and magical skill, we’ll be able to take on any enemies that we face! You have my sword, and my allegiance. I hope that the lack of red is okay...it doesn't really fit in anywhere with this little guy.
  19. Here's a Vader shot: This one's Halo, but...
  20. Just a heads up, Kmart has a toy sale on from the 11th to the 17th. Star Wars Battlepacks are $16, and the Atlantis sets have also been reduced in price (seen in catalogue).
  21. YG-49; No, the paint doesn't scrape off when you move the arms. Big Cam; the brand name of the paint is 'Apple Barrel'. I'm not sure if it's available outside Australia, but I got mine at Bunnings Warehouse.
  22. Featuring full body camo, a handpainted torso design, and 3D elements, here's my rendition of a marine in desert camo. Thanks!
  23. The first two of the figures was lit solely by blacklight and the luminescence created in the trans-coloured pieces by the blacklight. Both photos have been editted slightly by adjusting the Brightness and Contrast. Enerri, Born of Fire The Poisonous Scourge Enerri, Born of Fire without the flames Commander Axel my CW SigFig Thanks for looking!
  24. Yep, the guns hypothetically rotate around the shaft. I thought that the technic gear would create that 'rotary' feeling. About the boosters; I figured that the bulky side boosters generated most of the energy, the tiny booster opening would provide a concentrated burst of the energy, and that would give it the incredible speed.
