Thanks to all for the great welcome! Hello there, I'm living near Jodoigne (Geldenaken) somewhere between Brussels and Liege, at 10min of Tienen (1,536,000 studs away)

Well I had the intention of selling my entire collection but started to buy instead I sold almost all my castle and classic space sets and kept only the boxed and the new ones. I would say I've got around 1400€ for it. I kept my town and train sets. I loved the first 9V line (Metroliner, Crocodile Engine, Freighter, Metro Station). Starting around 1993, I was wondering what was going through the minds of the Lego designers (as a 14 old boy). I lost the interest because of the futuristic, non-realistic design of the town sets. The <insert that tiresome argument> turn from 1997 was the final suicide. I'm really glad that the actual management / designer team has corrected this with great town sets for young and old (it took them almost 10 years to understand that) .

Hello everyone, I guess it's time for me to subscribe to Eurobricks after three years of reading it So, My nickname is 'Karto', firstname 'Jonathan', born along with the Lego mini-figure back in 1979 and located somewhere in Belgium (I know, you like waffels...). I was lucky to grow up during the Lego Golden Years and spend almost all my time playing with the best toy ever. My favorite theme was Lego City (town and trains). In the early 90s I stopped collecting, basically because of the ugliness of the newer town sets (6398, 4559, etc.). I wasn't going into my dark years, but Lego was! 4 years ago I decided to sell my entire collection on eBay. I found out that there was quite a big community of adult collectors. To raise enough money out of it I'd to re-build and check every set (although most of the sets were still built). I was missing 13 pieces out of the 40,000. I started to buy on bricklink... you probably know what happened next I'm now collecting town and train sets, when possible boxed or MISB.
