  1. For me it actually depends on the sets I buy. Most of the time I buy multiple sets because I need large amount of many parts in those sets for a project, then the sets will be sorted out. But if I got hold of multiple set of some rare or exlusive sets I let one stay on the shelf in MISB condidtion and the other I part out. ALL set I buy I build them once, even build the alternative models if there are any. Then I start modding if I feel for it. But most of the time they just got sorted out. Well, actually there is ONE set that I never have taken apart or sorted out since I got it: Set # 3450-1: Statue of Liberty Sculpture It still stand in the window on display. Lek godt!
  2. It seems like I'm the only one that have one of this set so far (except for my two comrades from the contest that got their in the post Friday)? Have not seen much picture of this set on Brickshelf either. So I desided to put out a few pictures at: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=318281 (when moderated). Is there any particular view you want? I can try to provide it for you guys. I'm not that much into SW related stuff, but some of the models are pretty cool. And as a SciFi fan I also love the SW films. A quick review from me about the set: I saw it for the first time when I sat on stage ready to build it in the Norway-Sweden quick building contest at LEGO World Norway 2008. On front of the box it looks pretty cool. We was tre persons on each team, but only two part instruction set, so we desided that one guy start with the first instruction (me) and one start with the other, the third guy was providing us with parts for each step and helped us builders to find parts. That went pretty well most of the part until it was time for the two part beeing connected. Then It was being a bit crowded on the model and it is a bit "flimsy" and not very sturdy designed. But it IS a display model, and not designed to be played with. There are many small parts that just barly sits on... Each of the four arms are diffrent and each of the laser swords are diffrent so there was not much copying... It was a bit hard in the end to get all thing to stay on as there was 6 hands all over the model :) Well, actually it was I that finished the last steps of assembly. I was sitting beside the table and could see straight trough the model and saw that the Swedish team was at the same step as we most of the time! It was a fun build, and the Norwegian team won with about 30-40 seconds I think. We finished at 1 hour 20 minutes and 13 seconds :) We was thrown off a bit at the last step that where a "alternative" where the model only has two arms. And when we was at the last step an was going to attach the two last items I realized that we actually was finished building the set a few step earlier :D I got to take the model back home with me. And now it sits on display here. Not sure for how long time, as I dont have that much space to have models for display only.
  3. Thanx everyone for the warm welcome! If you wash your LEGO bricks first in warm water with some mild detergent in, the cat-hair would not cling to the bricks. Just a hot tip from a LEGO and cat loving member of this forum ;) This is from a life long experience with LEGO and cats togheter.
  4. Hello folks! This is my first msg here on this forum and I have just found out about this site from some swedish people visiting LEGO World Norway 2008. I was attenting that event as part of the Brikkelauget team and had a few models at display there. A little about myself: I am born in 1968 in a town called Tromsø in northern part of Norway. Here I have lived most of my life except 3 years in the navy. I am educated as an electronic technician. And work now in a large company that install almost anything in a industrial buildings. The last years I have mostly worked with Audio Video systems. Both programming and installations. Because of my upbringing and education I love LEGO Technic and has up til lately mostly built technic models. I have also a few RCX and NXT units that I like to program. A new intrest in LEGO is building houses. It started with just a test to see if it was possible at all to build a complex shaped dome from an old cinema in my town. I then tried building an iconic building from my town that realy stands out and also has a bit strange form. It is a church called "Ishavskatedralen" or "The Arctic Cathedral" I have also tried a few other buildings. And are now into more traditional designed buildings. And are working on a minifig scaled version of an old theater from my home town. I have been on Lugnet for several years but dont post there anymore. I mostly hang out at the Brikkelauget forum for LEGO related stuff. As other hobbies I also do a bit Geocaching mostly in the summer time. In the winter I go skiing, and bicycling in the summer. I have to cats, Whiskas and Casandra, that love laying around in my LEGO buckets and boxes :) My slogan is "Nothing is impossible, the impossible only takes longer time".
