It will be interesting to see if it is just the opening panels or if the whole thing or sections can spin around. For example, the light looks like an eye and I wonder if there is a plainer looking light on the other side. Mind you, it is my kid that mainly plays with this line and he likes the way they transform.

I really don't see how this can ever be called a MOD. Look at the past lighthouses from Scooby Doo, Creator and even Friends. They are all essentially the same at first glance - a lighthouse is a tall building with a light on top. But now look at construction. Sure there are differences in window placements and doors and so on but the tower is constructed from macaroni (curved) bricks plus studs up bricks to give it the shape. I'd say from a build perspective a lot of these are practically the same, the towers are studs up with stacks of macaronis at the corners for curves. Now look at the construction of this one below. Notice any difference? I do. This one is not studs up for a start. A lot of the sections are built sideways. There are no stacks of macaroni bricks in this one, unlike the past four above. Sure if you only glance at it, it looks like a lighthouse on rocks and so it looks like any lighthouse on rocks. But actually look at it and the build is completely different to the one in Scooby Doo, not just in play features but most importantly in the way it is built. There is no way it is practically the same. And to call it a mod is ridiculous, a mod implies minor changes. This doesn't even use the same style of building. EDIT: just read Exetrius comments, looks like we have the same opinion here in that the build is completely different.

I don't really see the problem with the subway station, it is just a small piece of one. The left hand side looks like a (small) section of platform and the taller middle arch is clearly the subway part, where the trains go. It appears that there is a train there, but that it is flipped open to reveal the monster inside it. I assume it looks more like a small train when flipped back down. I'm not sure what the third, right hand section is - it looks like a hole which might just be reminiscent of being an underground system, or maybe there is some specific use for it to be revealed.

It isn't a head-to-head competition though, as LEGO can accept any number they like.

There is a difference between secondary and primary markets. Kids want police sets, hence they sell well at retail stores (the primary market). However, the secondary market is much more AFOL focussed, and AFOLs tend not to want loads of police minifigures. Sets that contain them are generally quite cheap and plentiful and so there is a somewhat lower demand and higher supply on the secondary market for police minifigures. Thus they tend to be quite cheap.

In 20 years time the sequels will probably be revisited just as much as the OT and PT are now. The prequels were treated as the worse thing ever to happen to Star Wars when they came out, aside from the Christmas special. But now that the kids that grew up with them have aged they are seen with a different view. I imagine the same will happen with the sequels.

I think it looks good, but most MOCs can be improved by tearing them down and starting again. When it comes to colours, I'd also stick to a smaller number (2-3) for the majority of the rock and let texture work for you rather than colour. If doing rocks against sea, I tend to use dark bluish grey at the bottom, lightening up to light bluish grey higher up. That way, it looks like the sea has washed up / splashed the base of the cliffs but not higher up. You can always add in extra colours via plants and grass (1x1 cheese slopes are also good for this as moss), the odd flower and so on or white cheese slopes for snow if it is cold.

eBay don't sell LEGO. They sell services. Other companies and people sell on eBay. Most sellers are clear - if they use the word compatible anywhere, then they are selling clone / fake / knock-off parts. Very few sellers try to pass of clones as genuine LEGO simply becuase they will lose out and need to refund if the buyer reports them for it. The chances of getting fake LEGO with the LEGO logo is very low, especially for police. Police parts tend to be very cheap on the secondary market as few people want them as the supply is much greater than demand. However, I'd buy from Bricklink. You get a better range and you choose exactly which torsos and legs and so on you buy. If buying a load of torsos from one seller, then you might also want to buy the heads / legs from them too.

There is no evidence for this. The overlap between the markets for Trolls and Minions and other classic themes is likely to be small. If LEGO wasn't doing Tolls and Minions, other companies would be (like MegaConstrux did Minions in the past) and people wanting Minions sets would be buying from the other company. If there were more classic theme sets from LEGO, then they would not be of interest to them if they wanted Minions.

Sbrick have announced they are coming back with another model and are crowd funding again: https://tokeportal.hu/en/sbrick3/ They are not on kickstarter this time, but on a Hungarian website instead. After the badly run Sbrick+ campaign last time on KS I don't think I'd invest. It isn't even obvious what the investment is - is it a financial investment that you get returns on or just a gift to the company. Only the first 100 investors get the gift.

Why not just buy the parts you need. For example, there are 1000s of these and many similar torsos: on bricklink under 50c. Choose the torso you want your police force to wear, buy however many you need, then buy random heads to make them look different. Then buy legs and hair/hats.

KORUIT are all lego compatible, not genuine lego. I find the accessories are very good, especially if you customise / paint, but that the minifigure quality is not quite right. The prints are often very good, but the arms are sometimes a little loose and the "light flesh" (BL colour name) parts are too pale compared to LEGO's although if you don't mix them with other genuine LEGO figures, you do not notice the skin colour problem. If you just display as minifigures, they are great.

When sorting mixed lots, I often find most problems are due to non-lego parts. What happens if you put a clone 2x2 brick in the device? What about a non-lego accessory that looks a bit like lego but not quite?

Yeah, a decent MOC will be enhanced by well designed stickers. Although of course add stickers to a bad design and it will still look like a bad design with stickers - stickers shouldn't be used to try to make a bad design better, whether it is a MOC or an official set. Your TOROLUG container is most definitely enhanced by the decal as is the building, but most of all I love that cat face carriage on the right hand side of the picture. Is that based on the Tama Train?
