Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Pulp Detective replied to Pulp Detective's topic in LEGO Licensed
It makes sense though,it's the least loved movie of the series so much so that many people pretend it doesn't exist. And also I have a feeling that the sets based on that movie back in the day didn't sell very well compared to the ones who are based on the OG movies. -

The fact that it will include minifigures is a step towards the right direction. -

Pulp Detective replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
While I'm bumped for this being a non-Zelda theme on the other hand I'm glad because I'm fearful with how TLG will handle the license.I don't want another Super Mario situation. But still it's definitely annoying with how they keep denying all those Zelda related ideas project and yet they release no official sets of their own. -

Are those reliable leakers? I hope it is true and it would coincide with the new game coming this May. And yet I fear it may be another Mario scenario which would be very disappointing if that were the case. -

Yea I know delaying is much easier which is why I said that the chances are next to none. -

My bad,I though they already released Any way can't say I'm a fan of releasing sets after the movie and it's not like those sets are spoiler filled, either way their shown to the public before they and the movie release. -

I agree, getting those sets early has a next to no chance of happening but in the past TLG did delay some like the Eternals so you never know. -

Damn lego cataloges are becoming lamer each year. So I've noticed but I'm still holding out hope. -

Does the catalog showcase the March HP sets at least? At this point I'm hoping for some factory leaks because if we depend on clear cut pictures then we'll have to wait for a long time. -

It will probably be a logo and nothing else but we'll have to wait and see. -

As long as they reveal at least the indy minifgure then I'll be satisfied.Have a burning curiosity about that dual molded head piece. -

Isn't it too early for a reveal? Those sets will release in March if I'm not mistaken. -

Ok at this point lego has to be mocking us.The Mario line has been going on for what,3 years now?And yet there is still no sign of minifigs. And now they sneakily teasing Zelda which could result to nothing or something disappointing if it's tangible. And as for the Johnny Thunder poster,I think it was just an easter egg and nothing else.I highly doubt that they were teasing indy back there. -

I would love a Castle Brunwald set but I have a hard time imagining it as a set. It's most recognisable location is the interior and it's mostly that room with the fire place that most people remember about it.If it ends up as a set I expect a basic exterior with the interior being focused on the fireplace room. -

For a quite a while I was also thinking that it is a remake of 7623 but with lego you never know what to expect nowdays.I highly doubt we will ever see a brickbuilt macguffin only because the crazy amount of controversy that it will cause. -

Do you recall those abominable brick built figures from Harry Potter last year?Don't doubt for a second that TLG isn't willing to charge you 150$ for a brick built whip. -

I'm not expecting anything this month but hopefully we finally get to see something next month, even just Indy minifig would be enough for me. -

Am I the only who has low expectations when it comes to the new movie sets? Personally I think Lego has dropped the ball with licensed sets lately, those wave 1 Avatar were certainly disappointing. Maybe Indy will have a better budget we'll have to wait and see. -

I also speculated that they might go with named characters instead of soldiers in order to avoid possible controversy. That's good to know even though there was no doubt in my mind that it wasn't cancelled. Is this the new price or are you just speculating? -

No offense taken I'm just having fun speculating. The 150$ could be a D2C set but I'm having hard time believing it since this is (in a way) a brand new theme,so having such a set this early on sure is surprising. -

Regarding the soldier issue,as I said often in the past I don't think the theme will last long and I think one the reasons is the afformationed issue.I have a feeling TLG will do their best to avoid including enemy soldier as much as they can which will result avoiding alot of possible new sets or remakes. Thus far we have the German pilot in the 77012 set, which they included him because they couldn't avoid it.I believe that the content reveal of the 77015 set will give us a better idea about what path they will follow with this iteration of this theme. If it's the remake of the 7627 I have a feeling they will avoid adding the commie soldiers. -

I don't think we'll ever see sets based on the YIJ tv show unless disney reboots it. As for the battlefields, rumor is that the new movie will have time travel shenanigans so maybe there will be war scenes in the movie. If that is the case I'm curious if TLG will recreate those scenes into sets. -

Well in the OG line the enemy soldiers had no insignia therefore they looked like your average soldier.I'm assuming they'll take the same route this time around. -

I think we should be having this conversation after the second wave gets released. Let's see what TLG has to offer next year and then speculate on the future of the theme based on the quality of the sets. Besides we still don't know what the 150$ set is all about.
