[MOD] UCS Slave 1 (anti-droop/bend when on stand)
jasbury replied to ArchieNov's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Hmmm, very narrow market though. They would only be in demand for those who purchased the actual set which is rather expensive. After that you have to assume the majority of UCS slave 1 owners are fine with their model being Bobas which is by far the more iconic and recognized color scheme. -
Thanks! Just a convenient byproduct of my limited brick selection Quite a bit larger than 10195 especially in terms of wingspan and the front section. The best way to compare the two is the noseart. The panel used for the entire nose sticker in the official set is only large enough for the height of the mouth opening in my model.

Yes, on my Flickr! Only one so far but I'll probably take more
-
Yes but not easily! It's an arm workout

Hi guys, Just recently completed my first Star Wars oriented MOC, the Republic Laat/c with ATTE. I started this build about 3 years ago and it was going to be just the ship itself before I took up the walker project about a month ago. This is probably my largest MOC to date, and it's by far the heaviest. The hardest part was allowing the walker to connect and detach from the ship easily without the walker's weight putting too much strain on the bricks. Republic Dropship and AT-TE by James Asbury, on Flickr Let me know what you think! You can find all of my creations and more photos of the build at flickr.com/photos/jasbury

The stands seem very random. I can't find any pattern with some being different sized, and others being TIE fighter parts. Perhaps they were meant to be erased in an updated version of the pics, and we're only left there to pose the minifigure for photography.
-
No need to get angry at the video creator. He did not steal them, and stated he had no idea how they were acquired. Being stolen from the factory is just his best guess. He purchased them from a third party and was willing to make a video to show us how the minifigure looks in person

On the Lego version the bottom section of the wing is thinner than the rest of the wing. I'd bet that it either slides upwards or folds inside in some way for landing. After that, it would look real close to the ship on the poster. It must be a pretty iconic ship if it's on the poster to begin with, so why would lego build a really similar looking different ship? I have a feeling TLG will be going for all of the iconic vehicles for this first wave. Tie fighter, Rey's speeder, new x-wing, etc.

The details in this are terrific! I love the exploding AT-ST.

If the rumors of the UCS Milleniun falcon are true, I'd guess it to be in the $500 range like the last one. Based on the glimpse of it in the video, it looks like the same size/scale of the last one. Although Lego prices have gone up over the last couple of years, so it could be closer to $600.

Excellent work as always! I think that the staggered plates work really well in this situation to give it that gradual curve. I like the way you added those angles while still leaving room for the interior.
-
If there is one, it'll probably just be a difference in the printing like it was for the CW and non-CW clones
-
The AT-AT will probably be a bigger redesigned than the prelims are showing. The piece count is quite a bit higher than the previous version, and the spring-loaded shooters aren't connected to any firing mechanism; only clips. Makes it look like they're only placeholders. The fabric around the snow troopers' legs is a great improvement! The Cantina is so far my favorite of the wave! It would be great to have Ponda Baba as he's pretty iconic to the scene, but I'd be happy with two Bith musicians. I'd also be surprised if Greedo wasn't included in the set. I'll reserve my judgment for the remaining sets until we get some more pictures. The snow speeder could be really cool if it gets an upgrade with some more movie-accurate angles.

Episode VI - Pit of carkoon - Sarlacc Diorama

Awesome work! All the details in it are fantastic! -
Big improvement. Nice job!

This is an awesome opportunity. I'd love to send in an application if you're still accepting them this weekend.

True, but the changes made for the final wheel bike will probably be pretty minor, such as finalized mini figs, added decals, and occasionally small part changes. The final wheel bike most likely will look pretty much the same as its prelim. I still wish TLG had used a clear dish instead of a wheel in the middle to get rid of the spokes. I may be in the minority here, but I hope General grievous is tan instead of white. That way is closer to the movie counterpart.

75045: Republic AV-7 Anti-vehicle Cannon 75046: Coruscant Police Gunship They'll most likely be exclusives, and probably the last CW sets we see.
-
I actually hope he is tan again. It's more true to the movie that way. As long as they improve the printing from the CW version

As a clone army collector, all of this gets me really excited! I can use more phase II clones to balance out the phase 1s! Here are some of my initial thoughts for the day: V wing: I'm really glad they did another v wing, and this one is a improvement over the last few. I still don't think they have the shaping quite right. It should come to a point instead of a 4stud wide flat bit. But who am I to complain, that's what modding is for. Vulture droid: this ones probably a pass for me. Everything is way to big, especially the wings, and they added unnecessary sloping in the front. The figs should be cool, though. Anakin's starfighter: this model is pretty flawless. Should go great alongside the green one I have from the mustafar set. And a non CW anakin is always nice. General Grievous' wheel-bike: huge improvement from the last! I really want a less CW Grievous, but it is missing a boga... Just want to swap that wheel part in the middle out for a see-through clear dish like they used in the last hail fire droid back in 2008 to get rid of the spokes. Kashyyyk troopers: love this set! The mini figs are going to be the majority of my army building for next year! Battle of saleucami: I like this set a lot also! The BARK speeder is rather ugly. It looks like they tried to hard to incorporate the new missile system into the front. The trooper looks incredible! I have the previous version of those clones, and it's a huge improvement! death star troopers: this one is fantastic! The royal guards surprised me, but it's true we haven't seen them in a while. This should be fun for OT collectors. At-Ap: the third leg looks kinda awkward, but I'm sure that's just the angle judging by the previous pics we got of this set. Have to go for Gree! Plus I just really like walkers Droid gunship: looks very similar to the last, but an improvement none the less. I'll wait this one out, because I'm sure we will see chewbacca many more times in the future.
-
Ooooh! I love it when the first images are leaked! A few thoughts: I'm really liking the Kashyyyk battle pack! I've got to get lots of those green clone troopers! The only microfighter set I will buy is the juggernaut, just because I don't have a phase 2 Rex. I'm slightly disappointed in the shaping of the v-wing. But that can be modded! ill have to see more pictures of the vulture droid. It looks too big from the prelims. Look at how they did the wings differently from the previous vulture droids. The wheelebike looks cool! Still waiting on the pictures of the remaining sets!

Like said before, it's probably a model for Legoland. If it was an actual set, we probably would have heard rumors / seen pictures of it earlier.
-
Then there's always Bricklink!
-
Do keep in mind that these models are still preliminary. If I remember correctly, the RGS model seen in the Yoda chronicles trailer had brick-built backs to the gun pods. That's probably what they will do in the final version. The AT-TE looks interesting! I look forward to seeing more pics of it. I'm not liking the awkward knob above both of the middle legs however... All thought the smaller picture we got earlier in the week didn't have those

He is referring to the Naboo royal cruiser, not the Naboo starfighter. As for the Summer wave news, this sounds awesome! If Coleman Trebor is being released, I can't wait to pick him up! I find it surprising that Jango Fett would be in the corporate Alliance tank droid set. To my knowledge the tank droid was only in Ep. III while Jango was only in Ep. II.
