  1. Very Very Nice fred! props. thanks for the post
  2. Yep, that is how I organize my minifigs... Maersk (3) figs deal with the locomotive, I have someone who looks more like an engineer controlling the Maersk locomotive, (7) orange Lego locomotive guys handle track maintenance, my train station, & my motor less 3677 engine, and (5) Oil guys & (1) mechanic to deal with engine trouble, any mechanical problems and fuel systems.
  3. I wouldnt consider buying these trains....Nothing against them or anyone who does like them...the reason I state this is because I am trying to create a small city that is realistic and with as many details I can think up and throw in there...The harry potter stuff dosnt do anything for me, unless of course I was building a harry potter themed city...then you take the express to and from the castle and what not...I read a couple Harry Potter books as a child. they are great stories in my opinion. They do not do anything for me Lego wise..
  4. You make a good point. PAB is very pricy, but it is convenient even if it takes weeks to get the bricks. I do remember wanting a Lego train set as a child, but my parents wouldnt fork out the cash. The set was too expensive back in the 90's..for my parents taste.. We are middle class/ above middle class, but they wouldnt pay for it. My best friend at the time received a 4559 9v set that year...we played with lego all the time back then
  5. Amen! /\/\/\ And to whoever said AFOL wouldnt buy multiple traincars if given the chance....I know people (Legosjaak brilliantly buying multiple sets keeping the rail cars and containers and selling off what he didnt need) and have myself gone out of my way on eBay and bought 2 duplicate cars for my 3677 one green box car and one repair lowboy (using the two 3677 lowboys for Lego <--0--> intermodal cars) ...maybe when they launched My Own Train people were not into locomotives...seems theyre pretty popular nowadays....but im no economic marketing guru.
  6. My favorite out of the locomotive figures I have and have seen would be the Maersk minifigs..... Out of the train minifigs I have...the Maersk minifigures have very beautiful blue outfits and have orange vests that can be taken off if need be. Ill admit there is a yellow <--0--> torso...maybe a train enthusiast? laborer? minifigure,,,,,, I assume its older, that I want very badly...
  7. I love the reality of the Maersk and as always the build is part of the whole experience. What triggers my to want a train set deals with the reality of the set. Also what comes with the set, I got the 3677 because it was on sale and came with track PF and cars. I really enjoyed the Maersk set a lot because I see SD-40-2 locomotives with intermodal railcars every other day, I see the Maersk cargo containers(large and small) and Maersk trailers on the road and in our local container yards. The thought of setting up the locomotive in my lego setup that I am building is what drove me to want it and eventually get it. (Also wanting more Maersk sets after how amazing it is and looks).... I think if TLG came out with a My Own Train line again, or a set with accessories for a train yard, minifigures, small buildings, crossings, like the old locomotive shed set. it would be very popular with all the AFOL and MOCers, I would personally love to be able to buy 5 of the same railcar to setup in my yard.
  8. This is amazing, thank you Eurobricks for existing!!!!!!
  9. I could only hope for more freight trains and build my own train type models!!!!
  10. The lights on the crossing gates are awesome!
  11. Thanks for sharing, I really like the mail car concept and the caboose is a nice addition!
  12. Awesome Sante Fe collection!
  13. Thanks Sjaak...I moved some things around..it all isnt in the camera frame...there is another square "pressboard" piece that I have my tipper truck caravan and my small forest...I need to start buying those green large baseplates street plates and grey xl plates, . Im getting sick of looking at the depressing brown color.
  14. Beautiful design!
  15. I played with them as a kid in the mid-late 90's. Those sets were great, I had such an imagination with my lego sets. I still have lots of those pieces and even older pieces but nothing as a whole set. Even my Naboo Starfighter is missing a yellow pole brick and droid minifigure..I wasnt a big star wars fan, but I loved that set. The themes like "Res-Q", "Extreme Team", "Johnny Thunder",ect. those sets were awesome to have as a child playing by their self in the living room. Haha yeah Rock Raiders...I had a couple of those sets!
  16. I like to see there are other young people with lego,Im 23. Thanks for sharing your story! great collection
  17. That is one crazy long train! awesome job. The Sante Fe Is awesome! Thanks for sharing
  18. deleted this picture woops
  19. Simple yet effective. I like the elevated track.. .Need to put some blue bricks under there to make it seem like its over water
  20. Now further looking into your pictures...the moonshine still is a great concept! man..im going to hawaii tomorrow and im a little upset im not going to be around my legos to try and do a MOC and set it up the woods! great stuff Thank you. I love seeing things like this it makes my day!
  21. I love trains and always have. When I was young my parents would take me on a few local trains that were around just for fun. I got a lionel model when I was young, and around christmas time I would bring it out and play with my legos along side of it...When I was growing up I loved Lego but there wernt very many trains. A couple in the Lego at home catalogue but when your that age my parents wernt willing to spend a lot of money on a Lego train for me (even though we were well off).. My best friend got one of the 9v models and we both loved it. ( I should see if he has it still...) A bout a half a year ago I found my whole stash of bricks in a large bag, all compents loose from my childhood, except a star wars naboo starfighter. Thats all it took for me to start up again....finding my old bricks. Now that im 23 I have two lego trains(Maersk and Red Cargo) and can only strive to get more! I must have bought 25 different small and large sets in the past months. I love building them, modifying them and anything that has to do with em! Ive created a small cargo yard and a small town to go with it on the other side...If I was a multi-millionaire I would buy Lego and donate to charity. maybe even donate Lego to charity! Since Im no millionaire I guess I can just try to work at making an acceptable Lego Metropolis. I can only hope TLG comes out with more and more trains.. P.S. Nice name *The Brickster*...Was an evil criminal in the Lego computer game "Lego Island" I begged my parents to get it for me because I loved lego but was getting older..My parents graciously got it for me when I was in the 5th grade. I learned about EB from LegoSjaak and have become good friends with him after much back and fourth "penpaling". He is a very nice fellow, with an amazing metropolis and trains.
  22. Your setup is amazing! Very realistic, I love it. Thanks for sharing
