  1. I strongly hope so. 2010 has been a perfect year so far.
  2. I guess you all are unfamiliar with a famous beer CM that has been around for a while. I like that as much as I don't like beer! And I do NOT like beer!
  3. I've lived the life of a lonely man - And I've traveled roads of thunder (Shadow gallery - Roads of thunder) Set data: 8119: Thunder racer Year: 2009 Theme: Racers Subtheme: Tiny Turbos Pieces: 48 + 2 extras Price: 5 USD / 5 Euros / 4 UKP. Discontinued in 2010. Building time: less than 10 minutes MISB on review: Yes More info: Brickset - Peeron - Bricklink Official description: Race like lightning! - With extra-wide tires and a big spoiler, this stock car is ready to race up a storm! Includes reusable container for storage and travel. - Race on #8125 Thunder Raceway or combine with #8122 Desert Viper to make the ultimate racing truck! Measures 3.5" (9cm) long! - Build to race or build to display! Collect all four: #8119 Thunder Racer, #8120 Rally Sprinter, #8121 Track Marshal, #8122 Desert Viper! Box pics: Here's the 2009 TT box again, with red top, set name on front, fold-out pairing on top of the back and combo model on the side. Box content: One bag, instructions, sticker sheet Loose pieces: Where will all that yellow go? Hidden inside the car! Instructions: As always, one and a half pages of this model plus half page with half instructions of the combo model. Stickers: And this time they're really welcome. Yes, really! Building: Fast, easy, and shown as "sub models" just as a reference. The bare model: We're done, and we can see how lame it looks /to me, at least). The complete model: With stickers and extra pieces. Review: What makes the Thunder racer different from (most) every other Tiny Turbo? The symmetrical windshields, the 10-stud lenght, the uglyness of self withous stickers. What makes the Thunder racer equal to (most) every other Tiny Turbo? Lots of black, black & lime at least once a year, different mudguards, stickers are not an option, difficulty to build an alternate model. Dispite the fact that stickers do not complete the color scheme but make it (otherwise I would have opened the review quoting Helloween's "The dark ride"), I like this car. It's supposed to "race like lightning" (light is faster than sound, so the description makes it faster than the set name), and it probably would if not for the long tail. And, when built, it fits in the "reusable storage container" along with another model. Like many other TT's, this one falls in the big "average" family; as much as I like the windshields and roof (multi-angled slopes), I don't like the shape and lenght of the rear. Since I always apply stickers, I have no problem with the brick model being 95% black and faceless. Tiny Turbos made it into 2010 too, with just a slightly different box, so I can't be the only one who like them (for what they are). One of the chapest kind of sets (only "free" promos and Impulse sets came for less than a TT, before Minifig bags popped out of the box), and one I could pick anytime against a small City (smart) car. Rating: Color scheme: 4/5. Black and lime, on the edge between classic and abused! Minifigs and accessories: N/A. We're talking Tiny Turbos. Pieces: 3/5. Usual TT pieces, nothing rare, nothing unusual. Playability: 3/5. Aren't small cars every kid's fav toy? Design: 3,5/5. Close to anonimous without stickers, much better with; still far from outstanding Overall rating: 3,5/5. Slightly better than average. The final words: Good for 30% off, average for full price.
  4. After checking barcodes, I opened 16 bags and got 1x each. The only surprise was that bag content was a bit smelly (because of the miniposter, I think).
  5. They have two in real life. One got heavily wrecked last November. And that missing letter on doors, it looks like the real one.
  6. At least we're done with the depressing sand (as intereseting as PoP can be, the layout was really heavy!)
  7. I guess these haven't been posted yet: More here (some sets have already been reviewed on this forum).
  8. A few new pics (source is written in the pics!)
  9. Thanks for this review too! A nice little set worth getting two of, but I still think every Fantasy era counterpart looks better than the corresponding Kingdoms set.
  10. Yep. That's what I hoped for and it happened. It was a close box with a bit of sellotape on bottom sides to seal it. And, while I keep calling it Shop@Home, it's actually LEGO shop.
  11. I rated it average. I like the figs, accessories and cauldron. I don't like the colors (not only in this set but in the full line), the awful piece count (though there are many biggies) and the fact that baddies's biggest set has always to be a prison tower. So, wht's the best castle towr one could have bought for 50 bucks? This new one or one of these?
  12. Then Lego should have made boxes of 64 bags with 4 of each. I got my box of 60 from Shop@Home, and I had the 3x, 4x and 5x I expected. We heard that before, so now we know for sure. I already thought about grabbing some more!
  13. My box from Shop@Home came in today, and if I'm good at human-eyed barcode reading, I got the same 3x, 4x and 5x as most everyone from any place in the world. Since I first checked 3 times barcodes and only then read this post to cross-check, I'm quite confident I'm right about them. (Sometimes even I don't trust myself).
  14. I owned the old original versione, and I really like your update. Good job!
  15. Nice set, awful price. Let's hope for some sale. Thanks for the review!
  16. I own this set too, and I'm happy about it. Ogel was a kick*ss evil guy, and that trans printed control panel is a must-have. Thanks for the review (just check Youtube embedding, it doesn't seem to work).
  17. Different sets come out at different times in different countries. The only trouble is when they don't show up at all in one nation. Just have a little patience.
  18. Me too! I mean, series 1 ain't bad, this is just better!
  19. Release date in Italy is "June". I ordered 60 bags on Shop @ Home and hopefully will get a box. I also hope to actually find some bags in shops before they're gone.
  20. (a Ferrari spokesman explained:) According to the 2010 rule, it would have been legit (unlike last year) if it was any lap but the last one. As for Button's engine, some say his pit men made a mistake leaving a "protection" on the coolers that should have been removed before the race started. If it wasn't for the safety car, higher speed would have allowed the cooling system to work (and they could have removed the "thing" at the pit stop). What about Barrichello? He said he threw away the steering wheel because he was in a hurry to leave is car. It looked a lot like frustration to me (and the Italian commentators). As for the race, lots of emotions again, like most of the GPs this year.
  21. Who wants to buy a MISB 6645 for 169 USD? Just click here!
  22. Thanks, White Fang! You did a terrific job. I only rate this series 4/5 because I'm not totally happy with some of the faces. As for the statistics/spoiler, that's fine with me, since I was already planning to buy a box, keep a complete series for me and sell the rest on ebay
  23. Back in January, I wrote: Sets were then taken off that site (as any other upcoming set available from March to the end of the year)
  24. Impressive! I like how you used all those pieces for something different from their original purpose.
  25. Nice indeed; it would have been outstanding if you had modded the smart making it look like a short Limo (white everywhere except for the black line on bottom).
