  10. It's my feeling that if people do not report these to LEGO (without asking for replacements) and explain the seal situation, a fix will not be implemented. Each incident should be reported to the merchant and to TLG. Unfortunately, there is a huge and profitable market for minifigs, one which LEGO has not satisfied. An secondary benefit of reporting the issue may be that LEGO eventually decides to make more minifigs available without sets, possibly at an increased cost or through a club.
  11. Welcome to the community!
  12. Surprise! After reading your set review I decided to join! Yes.. tomorrow morning! (or this morning) A friend of mine helped build their display models. Small world, isn't it?
  13. The magic is in the details. I love the doors, and the stained glass windows. The entire project is quite impressive. How long did it take to build?
  14. This is awesome! Love the way you did the rocks and water.
  15. I have had this happen some months ago.. and since then I now "weigh" several boxes of the same set against each other, and go for the heaviest feeling box.
  16. I seriously doubt there is sufficient carats to justify the risk... tho someone might try it just for the rep.
  17. I do not have a picture but I clearly remember seeing ads like that in one of my son's magizines.. maybe cub scouts? back in the mid 70's
  18. I have had periods on & off in my life when I did not actively pursue building, but I have never had a time in my life when my collection was not with me except in college. Maybe it's different for girls. There was never an age when I became embarrassed about my LEGO building. I do remember once in high school when a boy came over to ask me out. There was a partially built MOC on the floor, and my younger brother was in the room. Brad turned to my brother and asked him what he was building. When I said it was mine he started laughing. I slugged him. As an adult with my own business I always had a huge fishbowl of LEGO on my desk, and would often fiddle with them as I talked on the phobe with clients, or with one of my team. I believe to this day that many of my most creative solutions came from that fishbowl. I imagine that I will someday be buried in a simple coffin made entirely of LEGO.
  19. My first set was the 1236 Garage with opening door..
  20. How disappointing! If it was a retail store, there may be a return option. If it was eBay you might try an "item not as described" complaint. Other than that, I am sorry to hear of your experience.
  21. The sad thing is that he will probably suffer less consequence than a kid who stuffs minifigs in their pocket and tries to walk out. I do wonder what they will do with all the evidence tho...
  22. Happy Friday!! I am in so awe of the talent I see in these pages, and I know that this old bricker still has much to learn. A few of you already know me, or will, I hope, remember me. I have been a LEGO fan for more years than I will admit at the moment. My first set was the 1236 Garage with opening door.. My grandson took it apart and rebuilt it a few years ago. I spend a good deal of time with my grandson 2Mak07. Often building, sometimes playing LU when it was open or other games, sometimes just hanging out. My favorite themes are Space, Wild West, Castle, and the older Star Wars. I have played both MLN and LEGO Universe ( was an Alpha and Beta Tester for LU) and at one time posted on the LEGO message boards. I am an Admin on MLNO and Brick Universe, and was on staff at LEGO UNI before that site was taken down by curse. While LEGO is one of my main interests, I also love music, used to have a band (blues) have a record label (blues & Jazz) and still produce non profit all ages Jazz concerts 2 to 3 times a year here in the Pacific North West US. I enjoy windsurfing, snowboarding, mountain biking, beach walking. I often cook, sometimes garden and frequently get involved in things that matter to me. I am a member of NAWIC as well.. a professional organization that sponsors "Block Kids" an annual event to introduce kids to both LEGO and the world of construction. One thing you should know is that I always say what I think/believe. I go into each day and every encounter as me. There is a lot less to remember that way. For those of you who know me from the LEGO community.. hey! It is good to find you here. If you read this far, thank you. Have a happy day MsRR
