  13. Well, we went to the Alderwood Mall this morning as well... When we got there at 8am we were put into group 7. (which told us at least 300 people were already ahead of us) We were told that we would not be allowed into the store till 11:45. So we left for a while and came back around 10:30. By 11 AM all of group 2 still had still not been allowed into the store. People just showing up at that time were told they would not be allowed into the store till 6pm or 7pm at the earliest. We never made it into the Lego store as the wait was just too crazy... however we did help build the Yoda which was fun, we all got our master builder cert, but there was no free brick given out.
  14. I too am planning on going to the Alderwood Mall on Saturday. This will be the first time I have been to a Lego store opening.
  15. I want to thank everyone who has supported this project. It is appreceated Its been really interesting reading all the comments, and seeing the different opionions. I have had the oportunity to finish up the next set of critters. Here is my idea of a flock of Sheep: I made both the ram and ewe have removable wool:

Here are the Orange Tigers: Here are the White Tigers: I could not resist, so I went ahead and made the adult tigers able to wear saddles: I also wanted to say again how much I appreceate all the support and the comments. I am hoping to make some changes based on the various comments I have read. It just comes down to time

  18. I personally want to thank Eurobricks as a whole for the support on this project! It's so amazing to see how many people are getting behind this. I really appreciate all the comments, and I am happy to hear so many of you are enjoying my thoughts on what Lego animals could look like. I want you all to know that I am not done with this project, and I will be continuing to add to it as my time allows. There are so many wonderful critters that are just waiting to be made So please stay tuned,
  19. In reply to the question about what program I made these in. I used 3d Studio Max to create all the elements in these images.
  20. Thank you all for the comments. It really helps to hear the different opinions, and suggestions. I want you to know I really do appreciate it I have finished up the Lions and would like to share them with you at this time: I made the Male lion so he could wear a saddle. Here is my scale figure riding the Lion: I can only begin to imagine the cool MOCs an animal like this could help create
  21. With the world of Lego so full of mini-figs of all shapes and sizes, it seems to me the critters are sort of left out in the cold. I recently started creating my own renditions of what Lego animals could look like. This has been so enjoyable that I thought I would share it with the world. I can only imagine how amazing the world of Lego would be if these critters were to be created. From the beginning I wanted to show what an entire family unit could look like. I wanted to make them as close to a real Lego animal as possible, So I made all the adult critters have moving parts. The babies were so small, that I modeled them in the same style as the dog, with no moving parts. The first set I created was the family of Deer. I then moved on and created some Elk: Staying in the same family line I then created some Moose: I decided to take a break from the hoof clan and started working on some soft paws. The first family of soft paws I tackled was the Cheetah: I then hopped down under and created some Kangaroos: This is an ongoing project for me and I am currently working on some Lions, and then I plan to do some tigers. I will post updates as I get them finished. I have a nice list of critters to follow the Tigers, so stay tuned to see where this project ends up. It should be a fun ride I am also toying with the idea of modifying some of the bigger critters so they can wear saddles. Such as the deer, the elk, and moose. I am creating the male lion so he is able to wear a saddle, and I plan on making the tiger able to wear a saddle as well. Just imagine an army of warriors riding into battle on tigers. Oh yeah! I think many of you can understand how nice it would be to have more Lego Animals. If you are in agreement with me and you want to let Lego know you want to see more Lego animals created, you can support this project on Cuusoo: Cuusoo: Wild Encounters This is a continuing work in progress and I will be updating the project as I get more critters done. I have a flickr location that I am stashing the images for this project. I will be adding images to that location as I get the critters finished up. Flickr: Wild Encounters Thank you for your time, and I hope you enjoy the pictures.
  22. This sounds like fun...
  23. For my 2nd set review I figured I would continue with the Mining Theme. For this review I chose set 4201 Loader and Dump Truck. I also chose not to apply the stickers at this time. So let's start with the box. Here is a picture of the front of the box: For some reason my camera refused to take a good picture of the back of the box, so I gave up. There was nothing too exciting about the back of the box. Opening the set we find a couple bags of parts, a sticker sheet and two Instruction Books: For this review I broke it into two Parts, Instruction Book 1 and Instruction Book 2. Let's start with the Instruction Book 1. This instruction book goes over the creation of the little Bobcat Loader. Here you can see all the parts neatly arranged: The minifigure is alright. He looks like he really enjoys driving that little loader. Not sure where his scar came from, I assume some awesome back story is needed that involves squirrels. The build for this set is pretty simple and goes very quickly. Here is a random step in the build process: Before too long we have a fun little front loader: And the finished loader from the back: The finished Loader with the small accessories including the clever explosives and timer: Bag #1 comes with a nice collection of spare parts: Now on to Bag #2 the Dump Truck. Here are the parts for Bag 2: The minifig is grumpy, but he has a really nice Torso: (I can only assume he is grumpy because he does not ride around in the little loader) As with book 1 the build for the truck goes pretty quick. Here is a random step in the build: This bag did have a couple "New To Me" parts. I am pretty sure the Yellow is a new color for this part: The new hinge and how its put together: Here is the finished Truck from the front: Here is the finished truck from the back: He just does not seem so sure of himself: Bag 2 also comes with some extra parts:(yep this set comes with 2 spare 1x1 clear round tiles) The completed set: Overall thoughts: Design 7/10 This set is not as cool as 4200 in my opinion. With that said, I love the little loader. The truck is nice, but it does not stand out to me. Parts 7/10 Again, I feel yellow has been way over done. Some good parts in this set. Minifig 8/10 The minifigs are mixed. The grumpy guy is cool, the happy guy is so/so. Build 7/10 Nothing fancy. Pretty simple. Should be a pretty easy build for just about anyone. Playability9/10 This set has a lot of playability. The epic battle of Mr. Grump, and Mr. Happy. Throw in some explosives and your just asking for fun. Price 7/10 This set seems a bit high for what it is. Overall: 75% This set is mixed for me. It comes with a very cool little loader. But the truck is only so/so. If Lego had made the Loader its own little set that would have been better. I think this would have been a lot nicer had it been made in a color other than yellow. Overall it's a good addition to the mining theme. Here is the link to my Flickr images in case you want to hop over there to see them too: Flickr
  24. really beautiful work!
