Cool! Now we know how they handled Bombur's belly. Bilbo looks exactly like I thought he would. Funny how they left out the most important dwarf, which I suspect on purpose. Now, I'm anxious to know how they'll handle Beorn's human aspect...perhaps a Hagrid-like giant minifig. They'll probably use the 2012 City Bear molds for his bear form; they're big enough I think. By the way, I finished reading the book yesterday.

That still doesn't satisfy my speculation on how they'll do Bombur! He's way too fat (in the book and the movie!) to be depicted as a standard dwarf ala Gimli.

I don't see how getting a Star Trek license is better than Star Wars license. Ditto for Megabloks Halo. And ditto for Megabloks World of Warcraft vs Lord of the Rings. World of Warcraft has been on a steady decline for what, 3 years now?

Good! That means Lego will never get the license. Star Trek has sucked since the TNG seasons ended.

There's no way Lego will make any set with Smaug until after the 2nd movie is out. We might not even see Smaug in the first movie unless in a flashback, when the dwarves recount how they lost their kingdom.

I find it hard to explain myself when it comes to this topic... it's detailed, yes, but not in the way I like. It's detailed in the same way a sculptor using clay would create his statues. It's just not a medium I appreciate. To me Lego is so much more than just basic bricks.

I'll be getting one of these when it's on sale. (That means that might have to wait until next year) Hopefully it won't get an ultra-short run like the 8275 bulldozer.
