  1. Generally we know a theme don't just include minifigs but also buildings and vehicles, and I think the bricks of Monster Fighter are outstanding. I somewhat still hope that they can pay new changes and ideas of characters, though I still have an interest to buy. For old themes such as Western or Vikings, we don't know if LEGO have a interest in remaking or reintroducing, so maybe it's okay to make the minifigs here even if now we don't have their buildings and parts. I do like the fact that LEGO made some different tries in recent Space subthemes, so maybe we don't have to see the collectible minifigs in their next Space time. And sorry for bad expression if making you misunderstood.
  2. Honestly I do think even though the series 8 minifigs themselves look cute, but it's alittle sad to see some duplicative themes from series 1 or ideas in this sets. Evil Robot: Similar with the original Robot, though maybe new face inside. Red Cheerleader: Rather than recolor, maybe she chould have new outfit print and new hairpiece. I guess LEGO would make a male cheer member in the next series. Santa: Nice redesign from the traditional Santa, although I'm not sure if LEGO should make it in future Advant Calendars. Pirate King: Also a common role in past LEGO sets, but I can't feel much progress as Santa does. Footballer: Simple nice redesign. Manbat: UH....he is indeed cool, but I don't know if LEGO just made recolor from Monster Fighter and save their time. Conquistador: Nice design and gold helmet, though alittle like traditional Castle theme. Alien Princess: Okay to me, even though it's sad not a new head piece. Bavarian Boy: Cute pretzel, but from the small pic I'm not sure if he's in a Bavarian style. But it's possible LEGO would go with Bavarian Girl in the next season. Gold Diver: Interesting gold outfit, though I don't know their idea to make another diver Fairy: Uhm... okay to me, but in face of the other fairy keychains, I don't feel too much new idea in this minifig. Cowgirl: Actually better than prediction since she doesn't remind me of the previous cowboy or Jessie from Toy Story. DJ: Umh.... not sure if the style do feel like real DJs. Ancient Thespis: I don't really get the concept, or it can be an interesting minifig. Skier: Somewhat cool, but seems like many duplicative snow sports in this series. Trader: I'm not sure if LEGO wanted to make an aged style businessman, or it can be cooler.
  3. I can understand that, but lack of completeness do decrease the williness of consumers, and we hate to see commercialization kill creativity. Still some themes aren't bound by time (DC works,Spongebob.) In the opinion I gave, it can be that they should release in several waves or different years, one for their movie/TV series adaption beginning in theaters, and the last wave when the official story near its end.
  4. After several series of LEGO CMF, actually something happens to be strange with their catalogue, and that is the theme. Sometimes I'm not sure if LEGO group had picked the right minifigues to be produced, which can conform the purpose or uniquness of CMF: those minifigues are so unique that different from any themes. But inevitably, some popular topics laterly beome true themes. This is a problem that LEGO must face with their creaivity. Here are examples I can think, some of them might be picky. If some are incorrect or untold, please inform. Cowboy/ Cowgirl/ Gangster/ Bandit: the Cowboys theme ended in 1997 and remade in 2002. It's a considerable theme to be continued even though some characters are similar with Mr Jones. Tribal Hunter/ Tribal Chief: the Indian theme ended in 1997 and remade in 2002. Spaceman/ Space Villain/ Intergalactic Girl/ Galaxy Patrol/ Space Alien/ Classic Alien/ Evil Female Alien: the intermittent Space theme in LEGO history. The amount shows that how LEGO stress on this theme with CMF. Forestman/ Evil Knight/ Evil Dwarf: roles that appeared in Castle theme. Deep Sea Diver: doing with some City coast or the ended Atlantis theme. Nurse/ Surgeon: if LEGO do more with City hospital themes, we might see them there. Ninja/ Samurai: the old Japanese Castle theme and the ongoing Ninjago story. Zombie/ Vampire/ Werewolf/ The Monster: mostly included in the old Studio theme and the recent Monster Fighter theme, though the werewolf was a different version. Witch: a job that often appear in Castle themes or Harry Potter world. Explorer: actually a very common role in many adventure action themes (maybe we need a middle-aged female professor that doesn't study archeology). Pharaoh/ Egyptian Queen: they can fit in Pharaoh's Quest theme, though the theme din't relate to local living people. Lifeguard/ Surfer/ Hula Dancer: except possible future City coast sets, they must fit in the old Paradise theme if it can be continued today. Race Car Driver: uh, need explanation? Crazy Scientist: also a common role in adventure action themes. Viking/ Viking Woman: the Vikings theme ended in 2007. Hockey Player/ Football Player/ Snowboarder: included in theme Sports ended in 2003. Actually it's a dilemma if LEGO should make creative themes that must include the previous CMFs in their new sets. For example, LEGO want to launch City school themes and take back the cheerleader and some sport elites in their sets, which means they still need to focus on traditional sets before CMFs. At the same time, CMFs has to be unique so that they can't be lauched with a theme or in an independent product. And in another way, both the theme and the CMF can use their story or special ideas to differentiate their minifig characters, and they have to avoid putting stereotype or generic characteristics. For example, Samurai Nya is much different from traditional Samurai minifigs.
  5. It's my first topic here. So if there are improper words or format, please inform me. Sometimes I found out that many liscensed themes don't have the scenes and characters we want. And while we ask for it, the themes are already discontinued. Usually LEGO just release several sets and then stop to consider whether these sets can represent the total essense of the story. I believe only StarWar fans are satisfied since it's the only longlasting theme. Dinscontinued themes: Mickey Mouse: Honestly it wasn't a true theme due to unreal Mickey minifigs, so it's doesn't mean too much if LEGO make any other Mickey sets. Harry Potter: Thanks to LEGO who continue it in 2011 and most newer themes are added, even though some fight themes in the latter stories (mainly novel volume 5~7) aren't made into bricks. Still, most main characters are made into minifigs. (maybe not Cho Chang or Fleur?) Avatar/ The Last Airbender: Obviously the worst treatment of the bunch. It just broke down in season 1 and now the story already goes with three seasons and a new legend of Korra. Prince of Persia: If we talk about the game title, this theme didn't make other scenes and characters (eg, Kaileena) from the sequels of games. But the LEGO theme stress mainly on the adapted story of the Disney movie. We're not sure if LEGO should also make use of game materials, or only if Disney would love to shoot sequels. Toy Story: Many main characters in Woody's groop (BoPeep, Mr&Ms PotatoHead, Slinky, Barbie) didn't become bricks. And as we know, the series possibly has some thing to do with the franchise of other toy companies. Pirates of the Caribbean Most characters and notable scenes are bricks. If we have to pick, it might be prequel stories (eg, Arabella Smith) and the possible fifth sequel to the series. Ongoing themes (2012): SpongeBob Squarepants: It's experimental continued now with several sets. Most symbolic buildings had been bricks (except Sandy's home). For characters, I'd love to see Pearl, Karen and the ocean royalty. Spiderman: Spiderman was released along with the previous two movies but didn't go out with the last one (eg, Sandman, Venom). And for the new film series: The Amazing Spider-Man, we'd love to see if new specific scenes and characters can be included this time. DC / Marvel works: Even though there would be other sets, the current problem is that the sets mainly focus on "omniverse" of all works and not their original stories. We dont know if we can see the classic scenes ,and other characters who were major in the original stories but minor in the omniverse (eg, Pepper Potts, Lois Lane). Another problem is that even though DC and Marvel would continue on their franchise, some stories that the themes were based on (eg, Harry Potter, Avatar Aang) was "ongoing" stories that not yet completed. Rather than Star Wars and Lord of Ring who had finished their main story, I think LEGO shouldn't make those themes at that time since they can't assure that these sets conclude the whole story. Unless they can make good plans to release new sets in different seasons and years until that story ends.
  6. It reminds me K'Nex's Kart bricks. Honestly, I do hope they can make all other Mario characters while K'Nex seems not active in making all Mario Kart elements.
