  2. They use the same varnish as on cars, they coat all the models with it, so that they can handle all weather conditions. In Denmark, they take all the models in, and re-coat them, becuase they are closed during the winter season............ But as far as i know. It dosent snow in florida...... In THE Legoland park in Denmark. Its the same models. Same bricks, as it was 50 years ago.....
  3. I have one aswell. Bought it some years ago, secondhand ofcourse, else it would had been to expensive, What im saying is, i never seen the box/boxes before. But today its like LEGO has a greater focus at the marketing in US, insted of Euro, and Denmark for that matter. (as i am Danish) Im looking forward to see if you make a comperison, of the re-released versions and the classic and the re-released version, which came along in 2001. Great rewiev
  4. I made a custom hull myself, i tried to poast it here.......But something went wrong..... Anyways, here is some Previous WIP pictures of it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/morthen/sets/72157630609381814/ Its not so hard, as you should think it is.
  5. Yea sure its big, and yes it can have a single broadside at 67 cannons, but where is the details???? thats the tricky part about theese giant builds, i myself made a ship, that contains a single broad side of 30 cannons (its one meter long) custom hull, and it contains alot of details. Dont take this to personly, but i find your stern/cabin, really borring to look at, yes it has four decks, but where is the soul? Eventhough it need details, soul, ETC, its pretty nice that you made such a big ship, keep it up, And follow LEGO's slogan: Only THE BEST! is good enough
  6. If LEGO just had made their version like this, then it would have been worth the money...... this is really amazing, and it diffently deserves to be an Official set
  7. QUE???
  8. If you take a look at the bow, then you get the sensation of why i call it "whale" Because of the round bow, and because of its massive size. And "Golden" Because well......it contains alot of gold parts. Normaly i name my ships after the idol. for example: Grim Reper, Mermaids Trident, ETC. But this one is named according to how it looks,
  9. That redcoat, requries a whole armada, if he is to be taken down. Really nice job. I was getting tired of all thoose big SW troop's. Now we have an big RC troop (RC = Redcoat) Good thinking, now you just need to build he's Musket
  10. Cool, I never had 3000 wiews, at any of my ships (or other Lego stuff before) Thanks to thoose 3018 who have seen my ship, it means the world to me,
  11. This is for sure one great vessel, i really like it, you did really catch how a ship of the line looks like, awesome job here, i like every single bit,
  12. This helps alot, thanks, and its amazing that it could last 3 days 12 hours at day, at a single pack of six aa battaries
  13. I need to know, how you build that waterfall. Did you do it sideways, or did you lay it down on a table, or what? because its so amazing, and even so you did do an exellent job, by explaining how you did make it turn, then i would still like to see some pictures, of the mechanisme itself. That light in the waterfall at the second to alst picture, was truly amazing, I haven't seen something like it before. The rest of the moc, is really amazing aswell. You did really deserve that prize. Great job keep it up
  14. thats so nice to hear, that you have fixed her so quickly, and sometimes, a second chance to build your stuff, ends up with being very good, as you did make a stronger hull, awesome job, and im looking forward to see the final version, (also when you have rebuilded her completely)
  15. I really get the feeling that i want to cry, thats really really sad, if i got home from vacation, and one of my ships looked that way, i would go through some fazes thats for sure, anger, anger, more anger, sadness, crying, and then accept, well i got all my ships at many diffrent locations, the one that is at the most dangerous place, has a free fall of about 3 meters, at the one side, and 1.5 at the other, then i got another located at the TV, which is turned around alot, so its amazing that ship still stands, and then i have the others placed on shelfs and cabinets, but its truely sad to see this, and i really feel with you, i wish you the best of luck, at rebuilding her,
  16. I like the SNOT technic at the upper deck, it looks really nice, keep it up
  17. Okay, this is a truely amazing vessel. I like the snot technic at the sides, i always just make the sides with the regulary brick technic hehe. Great job, keep it up, and im looking forward to see the final edition.
  18. thanks for your really nice comment,
  19. thanks to all for the nice comments
  20. If just lego had made it somehow like this.....or......it dosent have the very characteristic high overhanging cabin, so i guess it wouldnt be a very good set, since it dont have that. But it looks pretty good. I like the curved slopes at the sides, makes it look really good, Nice job keep it up By the way, it dosent look crowded, with thoose 4 masts. Just look at my Golden Whale, that looks pretty good.
  21. I like the roof technic, but it aint attached, right? or can you just blow at it, and then it slides apart?? but nice moc, a Family of Pirates, thats nice
  22. i know that, i also know that its kinds blackish-grey but that color dosent really exist in lego, so i understand why so many uses dark blueish grey insted, but i still dont like it, (atleast the windows could have been black
  23. i like it actualy, if you made the cabin black to it would have been really good, for you did actualy manage to create a real BLACK pearl (besides from cabin) nice job,
  24. As many before you, you have made a BP. but you succeeded, BUT!!! i know its imposible to make a 100% black, black pearl, without its looking wierd, but i just dont like the color scheme, when its not pitch black. Another BUT!! i like the smoothness at the gundeck and top-deck. even though its brown, i have to admit that it looks quite good in Dark brown, Dark bluish grey, and black, keep it up, (BTW you could also make some sails in cloth, i for example made some out of lounger-cloth, its similar to Lego's cloth sails, same thickness and stifness) i made it at my Grim Reaper
  25. there was some interior, (you dont have that at mocpages which is really confuseing, since you say in the intro, that there is) anyways its a nice interior, i like the small kitchen like cabinets that you made in there, they fit well, and i didnt acutaly not notice the costum cannons before now, i dont like costum cannons, normaly, because theres a huge mass diffrence, but here there isnt, even so its from green hair, its still good,
