  1. I am not aware of any post length limit. Based on the length of these forums, both original posts and replies can be quite lengthy: Guilds of Historia Information Thread and MOC Index Challenge III- Treasure Hunt - Eurobricks Forums Instead of just typing "bump," which might be considered spam, I would recommend typing "updated," possibly with a short description of the changes. That way, someone new to your topic can read everything in your original post, but those that have been following it can know what to look for as being different.
  2. Why not just have one topic, and keep updating your original post with what you would have had in the locked topic? Apparently, when you edit a post, it does not go to the top of the forum topic list, so your locked topic would get buried, while your unlocked comment topic would not. Thus, the unlocked topic would be the one continuously seen, and would also need a link to your locked topic. Thus, I would consider a single topic to be preferable, and if you make the separate topics, a moderator might merge them anyway.
  3. An interesting idea, but how are you suggesting that it work? Would the winner of the first contest post the model to CUUSOO (after winning), and the winner of the second contest be added through collaboration? Or, are you suggesting that Eurobricks have an official account on CUUSOO, and the 1% could then be put toward LEGO set prizes for contests? The latter would have difficulties under the current CUUSOO user agreement. After all, the model would only sort-of be an original idea "by Eurobricks;" and Eurobricks is not even the 13 years old for having an account, much less the 18 years old required to post projects.
  4. The spring element used is: http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/2605c01 If a contraption like below was used, the design could be motorized, while keeping the spring action. This would also allow the cannons to recoil at different times, and is fairly compact, since a single contraption could be used to activate cannons on both sides. Although, I am not sure if it is strong enough.
  5. Oops, sorry. I went to many of the enemy-spawning events, although I spent most of the last few hours on my property. I would also sometimes hang out in the typical trading places trying to buy animal bricks. I found this screenshot with you in it from NefertitiOfStorm's property:
  6. Thanks. I adopted "TimeCruiser" as my standard online username back in 2008, due to my name being Tim, like the character. I have a few of the sets, though some are missing pieces because I bought them used. At least I got a few of the Tim character though, which I have started to include in MOC pictures. I also have a T-shirt that I painted the T design on, and I wear that to LEGO events that I attend (i.e, BrickCon). For LEGO Universe, I was not accepted into Beta, but I preordered and got the Nexus Force minifig, and got the rocket on its own at the local LEGO store. I tended to play for a month, then wait a month for new content before renewing. As far as I know, I never placed high enough to show up in any of the contest leaderboards. If you meant the in-game leaderboards, then that is possible. I was active on the Message Boards though, so you might have seen me there. Did you use Flips as your LU name also?
  7. Okay, thanks. That makes sense.
  8. You're welcome. Next, a goose should be built...
  9. Welcome! Only 25 bricks... ...well, that is still potentially millions of possibilities, depending on the actual pieces. One option to jump-start your building is to use the free LEGO Digital Designer program to build virtually, so that you are not limited by the size of your collection. Pick-a-brick cups are generally a good deal, with the larger size a slightly better price; but for a grand opening there is the potential of demand being greater than immediate supply, or other problems caused by crowds. I would recommend that you get to the store fairly early, on Saturday, and spend at least $35, so that you can get set #3300003 for free. (There is a topic in The Embassy forum that has more information about it.)
  10. To clarify, to what extent does the single CUUSOO link restriction affect user profiles and signatures? If I have a link in my profile, does that mean I am not allowed to have one in my signature, or is one link per location okay (potentially in addition to a single forum topic link per MOC), or are both exempted from the restriction as long as the other signature guidelines are followed?
  11. More about myself: My first (non-DUPLO) LEGO set was set #535. While in college for Civil Engineering, having my LEGO collection in the dorms was not practical, so I left it home and made due with video games; but never really went through the "dark age." Thank you, fellow Tim.
  12. Thanks. I buy sets from various themes, but my favorite is probably Creator. I prefer stud connections over Technic, and rarely use minifigs or Mindstorms. Thanks.
  13. And now, another Tim on the forums. -TimeCruiser
  14. I have been checking Eurobricks for LEGO news for a while now, and decided I should go ahead and join. TimeCruiser was my main character name in LEGO Universe (RIP), and is my username for various LEGO and other sites, so it was the natural choice for here as well.
