[MOC] Cornered [Ultimate Battle 8x8]
DraikNova replied to burlogh's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Good job. -
Sadly enough, LEGO seems to be against "human bad guys, alien good guys-themes". All though the humans being the vermin from the Vermin Vaporizer does sound like something you'd here an Alien Overlord say.

Actually, that's not a bad idea, using those silver blades to make an all-silver version of his crossbow. As a matter of fact, we've now got gold, silver and gunmetal blades.
-
I've given mine wings to carry her blades and used one of the lime "tank" parts from Reapa as a jetpack, attached to a foot on her back.
-
I might decide to buy one. Help a good cause, get a nice MOC; It's a win-win situation!

I think I heard the Space Swarmer was for the squad. I wonder if the spider Cwetqo mentioned is in the Bug Obliterator is a vehicle or a mount.
-
Wow, so many great MOCs; the tripods, AMEE, the terminator bike, The Truth About Them, Last Flight of Osiris, Dardo, Tron...
-
Wow. The ones you made for Lumix and for Valgarise are absolutely gorgeous.

Actually, I've noticed that when using high friction pins, pin connections can be extremely stable. Also, maybe the reason for the technic connection on Scarox is to add back armor?
-
Why does no one like Jay's glider? It makes more sense than the one Kai got in the Rattlecopter set, and everyone absolutely loved that one. Also, what do you mean by "eyes" Aanchir?

Personally, I think most of the new Ninjago sets are on par with the best set of Chima. However, since the picture I'm basing my conclusion on shows blurry concepts, not high-definition finalized sets, this could change.
-
Good point. I was rather disappointed with that one after about two hours and to this day I wished I had saved those 80 euros.
-
I hope 2013 summer features a new hero. Preferably with a similar amount of trans as the winter wave sets, plus the long-awaited recoloured Hex Shield.
-
While the mothership was a great set in my opinion, I keep thinking that to make it really impressive, one would have to have had put the budget for the human HQ (which I think would have worked better as a 60 euro set) into it.

MoC: Container Freighter with a Splash of Art Deco
DraikNova replied to Commander Wolf's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Actually, in my opinion, the small "engines" on this kinda fit more with the idea of an exhaust on a truck, which fits gloriously with the rest of the concept. -
Same here. I agree. In a way, Scarox is this year's Voltix. In my opinion both a great design and parts pack, but generally considered horrible. The same thing goes for Pyrox and Core Hunter.

Make sure your colorscheme fits with the ships role. You've done that very well on this one. However, if you build minifig-scale, and the ship is for long journeys, give it a larger cockpit. -
Looks like you're doing a great job!

Personally, I like Roboforce. Well, I like the two larger sets. However, I must say that while the smaller ones are pretty bad, at least they showed some interesting concepts and no major design flaws.
-
Not to mention that the functions from pre-2013 weren't too complicated either.
-
You're absolutely right, the only function, if you can even call it that, is the golden dragon's shooter.
