  1. I made the same mistake with the center differential... Definitely a pain to replace ;)
  2. Very much so. I'd say about half my projects have failed. It's a great learning experience ;)
  3. That would work, but I doubt LEGO would release a model which requires 12 batteries :P
  4. Of course it is possible. Difficult, very difficult, but possible. You of course realize you are now contractually bound to try it yourself.
  5. It's one of the toughest Technic challenges... Even Sariel tried it [a similar one, not this exactly] and failed, due to weight issues I think.
  6. You know you want a fully articulated zamor turret.
  7. Right, now I get it. The crawler runs 2 off one channel. Makes sense now. OK ;)
  8. My bad, I meant the bulldozer.
  9. What confuses me is the fact that (I think), the PF excavator powered 2 XL motors from a single V1 receiver. Were there issues there?
  10. The bucket wheel excavator would be a simple construction... This model even has linear actuators, just like you wanted! The track layout is also similar.
  11. Thanks, but unfortunately I cannot criss-cross them.
  12. Thanks, everyone! Thanks Tragic Banjo especially, now I have a nice test to go by. Interesting about the center tube, but I am planning on using trans-light blue, not trans-clear. Since by bridge will be 30 bricks long at the longest, it looks like I won't have any problems. The only load it has to endure is a ball rolling across it.
  13. Well, it seems I brought up an interesting issue! For more details, the structure is a horizontal 'bridge' of 1x2 bricks. It can't be supported, except at the ends. Thanks!
  14. Hello there, I have a quick question. I have built a structure out of 1x2 bricks, which works well. I want to build it out of transparent bricks, however, and I need to know if their connections will be sturdy enough (the layout of the structure is a horizontal column of 1x2's, essentially a bridge), since I don't have enough transparent ones to test properly. Any advice?
  15. Oh, so you want to communicate with the receivers with IR... That's actually pretty interesting. I'd like to see how that turns out!
  16. I didn't know this, so are you saying that if you hook up the PF motors with extension wires, it doesn't work? Interesting.
  17. What about editing out that Bat car? It looks very effective. Or did you use fishing line?
  18. Hexapod is too easy. A tripod is much harder to do right in Technic ;) Also considering the close-range EMP blast, a tripod will beat a hexapod every time
  19. Hooray, another GBC builder! Also, just remember, pitbulls are nice, annihilatior tripods are nicer.
  20. It has been proven that PF motors are waterproof to a certain extent. I'm not sure about NXT motors but I tend to doubt it. You might want to have a look at this, I saw it on the NXT step:
  21. I think Sariel did some work with the weDo kit. I bet he'd know.
  22. Welcome! Is it just coincidence that your name is legoGBC, or can we expect some Great Ball Contraption modules from you? Nice GDI avatar too, perhaps you can build us a Mammoth MKII?
  23. Wait... you guys don't throw them out? Waste of space, I think, especially as you can get them online...
  24. Thanks Lasse! The balls do indeed bypass if they are not the correct color. I'd estimate at least 50% of the balls bypass this way. In combination with careful control of the output, this means I get a nice consistent flow to the next module.
