MOC: Classic Town - Postal Street [Picture Heavy].
BlueBard replied to AwesomeStar's topic in LEGO Town
Nice MOC, with a great classic atmosphere The little tram is a bit boxy for me but well designed -
Impressive masterpiece ship The best: the pool section
-
Just all the interior stuff it's a MOC itself! I must say it's one of the best MF scale Fire Engine I've ever seen and as Spyder says even better than your german one Great job!

Never underestimate the absurdity potential of merchandising...
-
I normally align them using a modified 1x8 plate with rail after every line. It works specially well when you tile a floor with those "allways on the move" 1x1 tiles

Sorry, then. I misunderstood the rumours

I did not mean that was an expensive set, I agree it's the cheapest on modular sets. I mean it was anounced as a 90€ set and I waited something more "modest" if you want, like MS. Sorry if I did not expressed myself correctly

After some hours after the surprise and a better appreciation of the pics, I must agree with all of you saying you waited better from TLC. First: the design is ok and it has nice decorative details but nothing spectacular compared to GG or CC... Second: no spectacular new pieces or useful techniques like GG or CC offered Third: Even if there are very detailed sections (the windows or the roof part) some details could been really improved like the bell tower (I waited a bigger one, like CC), the flag or the tree (ok my trees are not the best but at least better than this poor little nearly leavesless one...) Four: I hope those prices are incorrect 'cause I perfectly remember that one of these 10197 most interesting points was its price around the 90€ wasn't it? I was waiting for the presentation of this set for seeing if it was better than the CC but I think I'll go for the good old one Cafe+Hotel even if I have to build in interior for it Anyway this Fire Station remains an interesting choice and for a lower price I could think at buying it...

A great film, with master-piece models
-
I can't believe I did not noticed it since now! I must say it looks very very very well! I specially like that lovely and accurated facade with the "1932", the flag, the "helmets and axes" detail... Can't wait for a serious review! Definitely an emergent classic like all the modular series, a must buy, and a must love

Nice find! It would be a helpful element for any Lego builder. Actually I think all of us use some kind of "hand-made" lego measurers, don't we?
-
Thanks! Actually I just followed the official instructions...
-
Great and fully-detailed creation, Cpt. Green Hair I really like the roof section, I look forward for the model with decals

Just an old SW freak little reply: Ten Numb is a sullustan Kit fisto is a nautolan Assaj Ventress... some kind of humanoid? (we'll never know ) Plo Koon is a kel dor Watto is a toydarian Sebulba is a dug Aldar Beedo (not classified yet) And you forgot some nice additions like the ewoks, the gungans, the jawas, the sand people, the wookies... And the most important ones: the ducks! lol (old SW freaks would understand the joke I presume) I can't believe I still remember all those SW species names without checking it in my old SW encyclopedia!

Personally I think small sets are more useful because they're a cheaper way to have MFs and little pieces. For a big structure I prefer to design it myself and build it using BL

Wonderful tutorial + MOC You did a good job with the veil and the hive and I think Farm fans will find it very interesting
-
Another nice review, The Brickster! I'm not a Train fan but I really find those "My Own Train" sets very cool as they're, like CC style sets, designed for AFOLs so very detailed and useful

[Comic] Harry Potter and the Twilight Years
BlueBard replied to Izzy's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
Wonderful! I really like your comics and I must say in this one the MFs are specially great. The best: Ron Weasley -
Thanks every body for the nice comments! It seems lot of you like the post office, now I'm beginning to regret to take it appart yesterday... I hope the garage I'm doing instead would be as popular I'll do. As soon as I'll have the last BL order I purchased I'll be posting shots of the three buildings left. Don't worry, a Bank is one of my future projects. Allways taking care of what Mob needs Dunno, it has a special flower shop "feeling" I suppose

Even if I was a great fan of SW when I was younger I voted Space Police III as the alien MFs are more visually attractive, like that incredibly funny Squidman

Hi everyone! I've decided to start a proper topic for posting all the little WIPs in the City display I'm preparing (coming very soon, promised! ). Here are two ideas I had for improving my yellow Post Office and for a Flowe Shop. (Un)fortunately they won't be included... I had other ideas more interesting or just a bad needing for some particular pieces This would have been the Post Office adapted to the corner of a street (two 8x16 baseplates black tiled would have been added to the left side for doing the corner and also a lamp, a public phone and other stuff). With the left-overs of this MOC I'm going to try a new garage in CC style. The interior is the same than in the previous version (if you want to see it click on the picture at the end of this reply) This is a project I had when I "believed" in the 7641 City Life I tried to modify the pizzeria for making a flower shop and included the bus stop and the public phone from the 8402 in a simple but nice corner combination. Unfortunately after some detailed reviews of the 7641 I decided to save the money for improving the rest of the buildings and put up some others. Actually I've kept the idea of the Flower Shop and I'm working on one right now. BTW, for the presentation I've finally chosen the alleyway option because excepting the Red&White Cafe (well, now it's a bar... ) I won't have corner buildings... But a lovely Cafe Corner will help as soon I can have the money

Funny detail, I won't forget it!

Thanks! Yes, the angle section took me some hours. The LDD pieces can't be assembled in some "real life ways" and there were some of them missing or bein impossible to do like the white arch for the entry Yep, Bricklink remains a cheaper market than the official one... Shouldn't be the opposite?
-
Nice! I really like the mini-scale plane and the impression of wind the hands/cornfield gives
-
Nice! It's funny because yesterday I also did a version of the 8402 in LDD, with the same head for the driver But mine is just a copy in blue, and not a new design like yours Here it is: Sorry if I "intrude" upon your post
