I honestly don't care about the people that complain about the CW series and its merchandise. If you are a true fan of SW then you would enjoy the additional treatments the universe is getting. As others have mentioned, in the CW you get characters and vehicles with 100x the amount of exposure that would get in film. So not only do we get to experience more ships and vehicles, but also characters that would have never seen anything more than 10 seconds on screen (ie, Aayla Secura). Yes they are goofy and out of place compared to the PT and OT figs, but who cares. They are faithful to the source material being derived. I always try to collect the counterpart figs to anything I get in CW if it is available (ie, Obiwan from a CW set and then Obiwan from PT).

What's Your Favorite Star Wars the Clone Wars Set?
calisupra2nr replied to North Lego Star's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Hmm there are quiet a few that I really like from the CW series... If I had to pick one I would say Republic Fighter Tank. Close runner up would the Republic Gunship. Unfortunately I do not have the gunship. I do have the dropship and ATOT and that would definitely be a close runner up from the collection I have. As others have said the Greivous Starfighter is amazing. I am also a big fan of the Republic Frigate. -

Does anyone know why my 8038 (Battle of Endor) Han Solo has white pupils? I just bought this set (it was sealed) and was building my minifigs and I noticed his face did not match the art in the instructions. He has a newer looking face similar to that of the new Millenium Falcon (with white pupils and a chin mark under the mouth). Was this a misprint for this set or did they just switch the faces late in production? Thanks!! -
Wow if I found anything like that I would bite instantly. I have yet to find anything worthwhile on craigslist but will keep looking. You will love the Tie Fighter and the YWing is also pretty awesome. Both are the best Lego representations yet.
-
Wow that would be a deal! I would absolutely pick one up (figure-less of course) for $100 or less, but I just cannot find one right now :( and yes the cloud city set has great figs, but I could care less about the actual set. I feel like we will be getting another cloud city set in the near future ;) I love the Greivous starfighter. I cannot find a Windu starfighter for less than RRP otherwise I would bite, same thing with Cad Banes speeder and Naboo starfighter, I just don't want to pay full price for those. The Death Star and Tantive IV are in my near future I feel.

I really am holding out hope that both will be redone in the next 1-2 years considering the seriously low amount of AOTC sets that have been released. With the 3D re-release coming, its obvious we will be getting AOTC sets and I cannot imagine them not including the 2 most famous ships from that movie. I mean I would love to see a UCS chrome Naboo Cruiser next year for the re-release, but I think everyone has their eyes set on the most coveted AOTC ships...ATTE and RGS. On a side note, my friend suggested a Geonosian arena playset with the beasts and that would be INCREDIBLE! I am waiting to find a fighter tank on ebay that is less than $100 (which is the lowest NISB price on blink).
-
yeah i just picked up the CW AAT off ebay. Thankfully I was very frugal with my money for a couple years so I can ALMOST justify this ridiculous spending... some of my friends have hobbies that are much more expensive (like auto racing). Not to mention the value these sets hold after they are off the market is a nice ;)

That X-wing is incredible. I thought Lego did a good job with their newest release, but that guy hit every right detail. The rest of those MOCs are beautiful as well.
-
Yikes! Yes I do not want that to occur here, so I will just visit those threads. On a side note is Jango Fett exclusive to just the Slave 1 from ep2? That set is ridiculously expensive and the minifig is like $70 or more.
-
What would you all say your top 5 favorite sets are? Mine (that I own) would be: -Dropship & ATOT -Anakins Jedi Interceptor -Tie Fighter (9492) -Slave 1 (8097) -Xwing (9493) Once I receive the battle for endor, death star and imperial shuttle (UCS) I am sure those will move into that category.
-
I do not plan on getting all of the summer sets at once. I will get one set every month to pace myself. Right now I am just so frantic in trying to catch up with what I have been missing, that I may have overdone it. I have been doing that for the most part. Luckily all of the sets on shelves now I am a pretty big fan of (especially these new 2012 OT sets). But yeah the Battle of Endor is being purchased this weekend on blink.
-
I do think the new 10198 is a better representation of the actual Tantive IV. Although as someone mentioned before, the turrets are a bit too much. I also wish lego would do a tantive that was stretched out more and less "thick". Oh well, after seeing reference photos of the model it would appear to be fairly accurate. I am putting it on my shopping list on amazon!
-
What do you think the set is worth without the figs now? I just don't want to grossly overpay for a set that may drop once the new figs arrive in august. Yeah the fighter tanks new sealed are 100 on bricklink... but I think I may still bite on it. It just looks so good. My friend was telling me that it is built like a tank as well (super sturdy and heavy). Is it better than the UCS representation? agreed :)
-
Oh my I just saw that Tantive on Amazon for $150. If it is as good as you are saying, I will probably have to pick that up. I love sets that do not use stickers! From the sounds of it though, I will be buying the Battle for Endor very soon. I have quite a few Hoth sets already including the TRU exclusive Eco Base and the Wampa cave. I also just built a pretty cool MOC of the Hoth bunker battle and would love to add another snowspeeder to the fight.
-
Oh my how I love the sailbarge. It is super expensive though so I will have to try and find a SOMEWHAT reasonable price if I am going to bite on it :/ I forgot about Cad Bane's Speeder. It just went off Lego S@H. Urgh. I have Cad Bane from the Turbo Tank, but the Senate Commandoes would be awesome. If I can find it on bricklink for less than RRP I would buy. V19 is a priority though. That ship's wings look awesome. Thanks for the advice. I am going to begin my quest. I am ultimately hoping that Lego releases a new gunship in the next year or so. It has to be one of their most successful and sought after sets and it has been over 4 years now since the last. I will definitely keep my eye out for a sandcrawler. That is set is pretty old so I almost forgot about it! Thankfully I made this thread so people like you can remind of what I am missing :) Well I think the only "true" minifig scale sets are the UCS falcon and the UCS shuttle. Correct me if im wrong? But I like sets that are the best representation of either that vehicle or that environment (new Jabbas palace for instance).
-
The summer set has a lot I want including Jabbas Palace, Gungan Sub, Sith Interceptor, and Desert Skiff. So far I have spent over $2,000 :( That is a great idea. Where can I get a bricklink list for all the parts I need? I also want to get the AT-TE. I have the dropship so being able to hookup another vehicle to it would be cool. I had the older ATTE lego set, but lost it while moving :( The ATAT would just be a display set (most of OT sets are). The V19 torrent sounds like a sweet ship and is very popular in the CW show, so I definitely will look to get one. For the figher tank, why do people regard this set so highly? I love the look of it, but it is a very rare vehicle that is hardly ever seen in Star Wars.

Well I just got back into collecting SW Legos in the past few months. I have already over indulged and spent way too much money, but I cannot help it... I need more! Since February I have purchased: -Sith Infiltrator 7961, Anakin & Sebulba Podracers 7962, Battle of Naboo x3 7929, Imperial V-Wing 7915, Anakin's Jedi Interceptor 9494, ACR-170 8088, Battle for Geonosis 7869, Bounty Hunter Gunship 7930, T6 Jedi Shuttle 7931, Sith Nightspeeder 7957, Geonosian Starfighter 7959, Republic Frigate 7964, Greivous Starfighter 8095, Clone Turbo Tank 8098, Geonosian Cannon 9491, Freeco Speeder 8085, Plo Koon's starfighter 8093, Luke's Landspeeder 8092, Droid Escape 9490, Gold Leader's y-wing 9495, Tie Fighter (2012) 9492, Xwing (2012) 9493, Millenium Falcon 7965, Slave 1 8097, Wampa Attack, Hoth Eco Base 7879, Mandalorian Battle pack, Rebel trooper battle pack, snowtrooper battle pack, republic dropship & ATOT. I am about to purchase the Death Star and Imperial Shuttle 10212 for the TC14 promo. My question is, now that I am pretty much caught up on everything on store shelves and even some of the older stuff like republic dropship, where do I go from here? Some of the sets I would love to own like the Trade Fed MTT and Republic Gunship are way too expensive on the aftermarket (nearly 2-3x RRP). My friend told me that the Battle for Endor 8038, Home One Mon Calimari 7754 and Hoth Rebel Base 7666 are great sets to get. What are your thoughts on these? I also REALLY want a republic fighter tank and AT-AT. Are these worth buying now? I do not care if a set is from the OT or the prequels, I just like to collect the best examples of vehicles, minifigs, and locales from the movies and CW show. In your minds, what are the must own sets or the best interpretations since the SW license has been around?
-
I honestly don't know why I kept referring to the 3rd. That is a Thursday and wouldn't even make sense haha - silly me. But yes, I do think the shuttle interests me more, however both sets would probably be my favorite of all time. The shuttle is an AMAZING recreation of one of my favorite vehicles. The death star is probably the best lego playset of all time in my mind. I am a huge fan of both accurate representation of vehicles and also playsets, so inevitably both of these sets top my charts. What do you guys think are some of the all time best star wars vehicle sets (in terms of accuracy, functionality, etc.)?
-
I think I will get the death star shortly and then shuttle in a couple months. My Lego store has 7 death stars in stock so I have to assume they will be there may 3rd.
-
I know they are totally different. I am just having a hard time distinguishing which one will be more valuable as it is rotated out. I can buy both within the coming 3 months, so I just want to know which one is likely to disappear and therefore increase in the secondary market first. From what I have read and seen, it seems to be the Death Star (even though I want the shuttle more).

Should I buy the UCS Shuttle or the Death Star playset next? I am worried about which one will become hard to find/more expensive soon... I am going on May 3rd to our lego store for the TC14 promotion so I will make my decision (with your input) by then. As of now I am totally split. -
I am going to the Lego store on the 3rd to get the chrome TC14. I will either be buying the Death Star playset or the UCS shuttle. Which one should I get before they go off shelves? Which one is your personal favorite? Thanks!!
