  1. I think opinions on Exo-Force might vary depending on how much you like Anime. I've noticed that Exo-Force seems to appeal to people who grew up in the late '90s and 2000s who were exposed to a lot of Anime-inspired stuff on TV. As someone who grew up in '80s with cartoons that were more Westernized, I don't quite get a lot of Anime and Exo-Force doesn't appeal to me that much. I don't know that I'd say it was the worst Sci-Fi theme, but it's probably my least favorite. I do, however, like the Anime-style hairpieces. I loved, loved, loved Insectoids. I was never crazy about the color scheme and designs of Spyrius, and Life On Mars was kind of weak.
  2. Someone discovered his paint program's transparency feature. ;-)

  5. I didn't want to say it at the time, but those were astute observations. :)
  6. Bloody fantastic.

  9. I think you mean "faction." I have a feeling that the three newest Space Police sets are the final ones for that theme. I've enjoyed Space Police immensely but it feels like it has run its course. I hope another style Space theme replaces it in 2011, just like Space Police replaced Mars Mission.

  14. I wonder if we'll get a new Space theme in late 2010 or 2011?

  17. The mine is a "compressed" explosive, able to focus its force at one point, in this case strong enough to crack open the otherwise exteremely strong windshield. As for what happens next... you'll see.
  18. I kind of prefer the more classic, smoother LEGO style, and I think this MOC captures that.

  21. Thanks for the balanced critique, Artanis. I especially appreciate your encouragement to create the comic I want to, even if not all of it is to your tastes. I am trying to keep stories a little shorter, and don't plan on featuring other toys much again. Others have commented on these being weak points, and I'm thankful for that, since I don't always realize this myself. While I willcontinue to use other sets (like Schwartz's house and the Hamburger Hatch), I think things are going to be a little more regularly space-based going forward, mainly because I'm trying to move the story forward a bit faster. As for the DACTA stuff, well, some of it is breaks the 4th Wall and some of it is them talking to viewers in-continuity. The 4th Wall breaking stuff is an option I like sometimes because it allows for meta-humor and is a way to speak directly to the readers. Overusing could be a problem, I imagine. And yeah, Valkyrie turned out to be kind of a babe, huh? :-) Awesome! Glad you loved it!
  22. A running theme in my comic is the ineptness of authority. But aside from that, I imagine that if, say, the U.S. government had some evidence that an undead pilot was flying around and stealing dead bodies, I doubt they'd inform every police department and air traffic control center to watch out for them because it's a sensitive, controversial topic. (although, granted, there might be an alert regarding the plane) More likely, I think the FBI or other government agencies would be informed on a need-to-know basis. In any case, the secrecy will be addressed. Granted, I think I sometimes make the mistake of having characters act too stupidly, even when it wasn't intended (sometimes it is). As a writer, that bothers me, so I at least try to make up for it later sometimes by trying to explain motivations. For example, I think you'll see in the next comic that Romero was scared crapless by Dash, and that's why he ran.
  23. Can anyone make out what figures come with the AT-AT and the shuttle?
  24. Fight or Flee.
  25. Maybe I'm just a traditionalist, but I prefer LEGO minifigs be yellow. Fleshtones just seem unnatural.
