The Top Ten Sets of 2012!
shinobisgreenshinpads replied to RaincloudDustbin's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Although the figures are my best friends since my pet kangaroo, I actually found the sets for nearly every superheroes theme to be quite disappointing. The castle and house from Monster Fighters on the other hand were action tastic, definitely my best of this year. -
Storage and Sorting LEGO
shinobisgreenshinpads replied to Hinckley's topic in General LEGO Discussion
This is probably a topic that has been done to death, so apologies if it's all a bit familiar but does anyone know of the best industry or source that sells cost effective containers for storing minifigures away for moving and so on? I've been searching for days and it's proving to be a lot more difficult than I thought. I was thinking that I could just get a few plastic containers that could fit a standard 32 x 32 base plate which seemed simple enough, but without paying ludicrous prices such boxes don't seem to be on the market. I've checked catering places, crafts (which is the closest I've found - a3 but will only fit one plate and then there's a lot of wastage, or larger craft boxes which are the perfect size but only 2.5 cm tall which is not quite tall enough), ebay, amazon, all over the place. It may be that I'll have to rethink the strategy but space is at a premium which is why I wanted to go this way, without having to move the figures individually... -

Does anyone know if the newer [R5-D4] dome has a separate number on bricklink because the figure doesn't appear to have one? -

Help finishing off my minifig collection!
shinobisgreenshinpads replied to shinobisgreenshinpads's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Unless a minor miracle occurs, the last figure for me is almost certainly going to be the gold C3PO. Everything else I'm keen to getting before Christmas. C3PO has to wait a bit, but there;s a packet out there for me somewhere. -
Help finishing off my minifig collection!
shinobisgreenshinpads replied to shinobisgreenshinpads's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I've been using the site for a year and always thought how silly it was that you couldn't do something like that. what a wally. Does it show how many sites have all of what you're looking for? I'll try it now! -
Hey lovely folks. I can see the sun on the horizon, the bath is running and pancakes are on the soap tray. As things stand I am 49 figures away from having a complete Star wars collection. While this has taken some time, and a fair bit of effort, I'm looking to finish off the rest fairly quickly so does anyone know a cheap bricklink store, or anywhere really, that has the majority of Star Wars figures? The problem I'm having with bricklink is you can't search for more than one item at a time, so it's really time consuming to see if a store has more than one of the figures I'm looking for for so I thought I would ask here for some advice. Also, I'm in the UK so European stores might be best if I'm likely to incur customs duties and so on... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Help With Selling A Collection?

Make sure you list all the minifigs! For some, that's all they are interested in... -
An easy way of monitoring my collection?!
shinobisgreenshinpads replied to shinobisgreenshinpads's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Wow, I cannot say how impressed and appreciative I am that you've made such changes on the request of a relatively new member of a forum. Honestly, fantastic work, thank you so much. I also clearly didn't realise you were solely responsible for that little gem, and not part of a larger team! I think the ultimate goal would be a list that you could update as your own, on a got/ want/ need basis. Your site would be perfect for that, as it already has such an accessibly interface. Being able to see all the figures up front is crucial. What would be great is if you could add those filters over the front page - for example if you wanted only magnets it would display all of the magnets as they appear on the home page (and removing all other types). If you ever need any help I'd be happy to offer my services! Not sure I'd be able to help with code or anything like that, but wanted to offer all the same! -
An easy way of monitoring my collection?!
shinobisgreenshinpads replied to shinobisgreenshinpads's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It's taken me 5 hours, but I've put down what I need according to that list. I even made up some extra figures using spares. I need 139 figures to reach the current total (I've taken out 18 that I don't want, which includes magnets and a couple of droids which I've conveniently decided don;t count as minifigures). That's not too bad. Although it is quite a lot. Goddammit. -

That is amazing thank you, does your spreadsheet separate the titles into columns per chance? -
An easy way of monitoring my collection?!
shinobisgreenshinpads replied to shinobisgreenshinpads's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yeah, that's what I'm having to do currently. It's just not that easy to manage. The apps sound interesting. I just want a checklist so I can be sure when buying something over ebay or the like (twice I've bought a figure I already own. Wally). I've got 293 now, so I'm over half way I think, and my collecting has been ramped up in recent days so I'd like to get more organised. But pone thing tricky with it is that it will list figures twice from the same set. For example Luke Dagohbah is listed twice, once with a backpack and once without, when really it's just one figure from that set. I'm being a bit picky perhaps, but when you're in the 100s I want to simplify things as much as possible! -
Hey folks, I've got a fair old collection of minifigures and I'm trying to get one of each ever released for Star Wars. I've currently got around 280, but I'm struggling at this stage in the day to know exactly which ones I'm missing, what with all the Storm Trooper variants etc. I'm not interested in magnets of key chains either, and I was wondering if anyone knew of an updated database that would allow me to put in my figures so I knew which ones I definitely had, and what I would need to complete them? I think these guys put a program togther; http://www.minifigs.nl/swminifigs/mfnl-all.html But I'm not sure if it updates, and I don;t think you can separate into standard minifigures (ie no magnets/ keychains) Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Printed mini figures worry/ question!
shinobisgreenshinpads replied to shinobisgreenshinpads's topic in LEGO Licensed
Exactly, currently SDCC figures are going for around $100 - $150 each, and that's only likely to increase. A custom one would struggle to reach that. Therefore counterfeiting limited, sort after figures is certainly something I wouldn't be surprised to see on ebay. Also, Alldarker, I never thanked you for your help and the link on machine printed was fascinating so, thank you! -
Printed mini figures worry/ question!
shinobisgreenshinpads replied to shinobisgreenshinpads's topic in LEGO Licensed
Woohoo, dance time! That's a relief, it's the most I've paid for a figure and I just started to worry as the seller, whilst being very nice, had hardly any feedback so I thought I should check. Just seen there's a guy in South Africa that does loads of machine printed heroes and his seem quite nice. How much investment would be to get a machine capable of doing such work? Not that I have the talent or anything, but I just wonder why there's not more out there. -

So, just to confirm my own idiocy, are machine printed replicas very rare or practically non existent? -
Printed mini figures worry/ question!
shinobisgreenshinpads replied to shinobisgreenshinpads's topic in LEGO Licensed
You know what, I may be a complete wally. I've seen so many machine printed alternates on ebay, I assumed that people were machine printing replicas. However, they may be stating machine printed to denote genuine lego parts, and then customizing them. I've bought the recent limited edition phoenix and black spider-man figures, and just wanted to check they couldn't be printed fakes. However I may have fabricated this practise by myself. -
Hey gang, I've recently acquired some expensive new minis, and there is nothing about them to suggest foul play at all, but given the money involved I thought I should check any signs! I'm just wondering , having not really encountered any machine printed lego before (knowingly), is there an easy way to tell if something is machine printed and not the original figure? I just want to be certain I haven't bought a dud. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi there! I've been collecting minifigures forr the past 6 months or so (and lego a lot longer, but soon ran out of space hence the figure focus!), and I am an absolute Marvel fiend so the latest lot have been snapped up quickly. Now I've recently had my eye on the Phoenix and Black suit spiderman from Comic Con, but obviously it's a fair bit of money for two figures so what I was wondering is, are the current prices likely to go down, or will they only continue to rise and thereofre now would be a good time to invest. Also, is there any chance that those exact figures will come out in a later set? I'd imagine not, but obviously I'd rather be certain as I'd be a little upset if I paid a significant amount and they suddenly became readilly available! Thanks guys, really appreciate any advice.

Help with identifying parts/sets!
shinobisgreenshinpads replied to WhiteFang's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hey folks, I've just joined (hello!) so apologies if this is in the wrong section (couldn't find an identify parts on?), but could anyone help me with some parts? They're just various minifigure parts and was wondering if anyone knew where they were from (there's a joker head on top of an Indy body that looks like it was taken from the film, but I don't remember that one being done so assumed it was a custom). Any help greatly appreciated! Minifigure parts
