  1. That's not how it works. Bear with me, although this isn't really that complicated. In Terminator, the obvious intent was a time loop. T800 goes back and in response Kyle goes back. Kyle impregnates Sarah with John. It all happened because it had to happen. It's a loop. Unfortunately for this, T2 happened. In T2 they changed the future. By doing so, under your idea, John should have ceased to be instantly because they prevented the future which allowed time travel in the first place. This means that either they didn't change the future, unlikely given the whole "no fate but what we make" speech/theme. Or, it means that the first set of time travelers changed time, thereby creating the future the machines from T2 came from. Then they caused further changes creating the future the machines in T3 come from. Those machines then created further changes which have lead to the T4 timeline. That means, the Kyle Reese in T4 is not John's father and John could put a bullet between his eyes with no effect to himself if he so chose. The Kyle Reese that matters came from the original future timeline and already did his bit in this story. Killing T4 Kyle achieves nothing as far as stopping John. Most other time travel theories don't fit the story at this point. Even this one probably has a hole I don't see because the series started with a "stable time loop" and changed to "the future can be changed". There aren't many theories that can work now. The point is, the future has been changed. If it has been changed, John would have to send Kyle back at the exact same second that he was sent back originally, along with his T800 nemesis. That means that John has no hope of beating Skynet until 2029 (T4 is 2018, I believe). Skynet is already prgoressing faster than it did in the original future timeline so the odds against that are astonomical. Tl, Dr: Back to the Future time travel rules are not what is at work in the Terminator series. Alternatively, all Skynet has to do to win is not build a time machine, by your logic.
  2. Depending on which time travel theory* they are going with, killing Kyle in the future may not change any thing. *The first movie sets up a stable loop, but the second movie shatters the loop. At that point, the best way to attempt to make sense of any of it is the alternate time line theory. You can go back and change things, but the future you came from is still there. What you end up doing is creating another future. If this is the case, killing Kyle is pointless (aside from the general effect of having one less human to kill later) because the Kyle in that movie is not the one who goes back to be John's father. That Kyle came from the original timeline and the Salvation timeline is the result of numerous changes along the way. The movie somewhat supports this with the appearance of Marcus, the T800 being built before it was supposed to be, and Skynet seeming to know what is going on. Now if someone other than the hack McG could make a part 5 to attempt to salvage things, this theory may actually get thrown out there in the movies. The loop simply does not work at this point. That said, 4 is still inferior to 1 and 2.
  3. I had two dark ages. I got LEGO as presents throughout the 80s. At the time, my interests were mainly Castle and Space with the occasional Town set. Eventually Pirates entered the mix. Looking through the set catalogs, I stopped buying around 94/95. That seems to be the point that my favorites started drifting into unknown territory. Then in 99 I started buying Star Wars LEGO sets. This caused me to dabble in the Castle and Space sets that were out then as well. Eventually it became just Star Wars. Even that ended in 04. I kept watching the aisles but I just didn't care for the sets and money was a little tighter. I was focusing on my other toy love from the 80s that was at that time rising from the ashes, GIJoe. I kept my eye on Star Wars and Castle but nothing really pulled me back in. There were a few clearance deals here and there that I regret not jumping on though. Then I bought some Star Wars LEGO sets for my nephew for Christmas in 07. He asked me to help him put them together and as I was I asked myself, why did I ever stop buying these. So I scooped up everything I could in the post holiday clearance in early 08 and then I started sinking quite a bit into Castle and Star Wars (well, the SW battle packs at least). Now I've probably got several times more LEGO product from the last 2 years than I had from the entire rest of the time I have owned and LEGO product (which I still mostly have, thankfully). So, barring some economic hardship, I have my doubts there will be a third dark age for me.
  4. While I would personally prefer a Creator set because I believe it would likely also include pieces for small detail work, this idea is a pretty good substitute that would still act as a way to get masses of castle building bricks. I had another idea. Since we will likely be seeing a constant flow of siege equipment for the foreseeable future, I would like to see better versions. It's been a while since we had a Balista (I think). If they absolutely had to, it could really shoot. A trebuchet would be a nice change of pace. Having that really fire could be interesting. Maybe a battering ram or two even. They could be well made (like with a ram's head or something on the end) or more "thrown together" in appearance (like a tree they chopped down and stuck on wheels). Or, they could go for a taller and more detailed siege tower. One that has either balistas or catapults on top with windows on lower levels for archers. Since we are no doubt going to continue to get things like this, maybe we can at least get better versions. As for things I would like to see but are quite unlikely except as possible high end exclusives: Windmill/Watermill This would have a couple of peasants and maybe a soldier or two to guard it. A cart or two for hauling grain/corn in and for hauling the ground product out. Having it be functional with powered parts would be awesome, but it would probably increase the price a great deal and force some kind of sacrifice in the design. An alternative to this would be a large grinding wheel powered by horses. That option could be refitted by some to recreate one of the early scenes in Conan the Barbarian I believe. Ancient Ruines This would be something like a long buried or forgotten temple. Maybe something with a little Roman flavor. A floor that appears flooded or tiled. Columns that are mostly broken part way up with a few still in on piece. Maybe even a cross support or two still in place. Stone debris littering the place. Some type of statues, again in varying states of decay. No roof. Some type of central alter or raised dias. Some type of treasure or spell book or something. For this one the figures could either be mostly soldiers with a wizard or scholar, or a more D&D esque group with some generic fighter/cleric/rogue looking types and a wizard/sorcorer looking guy as well. The second option would require mostly new torsos that don't have a crest of a current faction. Maybe their own crest, but that would probably be pushing it. If the set needs a "villain" or some type then there are a couple of options. For the first set of figures you could either use members of the opposing army or a ghost or two and some skeletons. For the second group the villain should probably be a monster of some type (something smaller than a dragon, maybe a largish Iron Golem looking thing or a Minotaur), a rival group of adventurers, or the aforementioned ghosts and skeletons. Cottage with Small Farm A cottage, hopefully with a second floor. It would be nice if it looked similar to the MMV buildings. It would have a peasant family (mom, dad, two kids). It could have a small section for some kind of crop set up, a wagon with a horse for taking things to the market, and a small pen for pigs or cows. This would be a great place to bring back the pitch fork. Maybe have a set of armor and sword on a wall or mantle somewhere showing that the dad is a retired or presently inactive soldier. Interior would need a table and chairs and bedrooms. If they did this right I would buy several. On the smaller end of things: A Town Well Nothing too elaborate. A round, stone well with a mechanism for raising and lowering a bucket for water. It would come with a couple of peasants and maybe a soldier as a guard. It could have a dog or horse too. If it's a horse, it should have some type of saddlebags to hold the water. Basically this would be an excuse for a cheap set that has peasants in it.
  5. The price doesn't directly translate like that most of the time. In the past, it has seemed like the euro amount (2.99 euros for example) is very close to the dollar amount (in this case, $3.49 instead of $2.99). This may change this year with the increase in prices across the line but I doubt it will be anywhere near the direct conversion price.
  6. That is a good point about the individual lines decreasing in size (well, most of them anyway). I figure what we are going to see later this year is probably close to the max of what we will see in any given year. I suppose there could be an TRU/Target/WM exclusive or two, maybe a new MMV esque set, and possibly something like the Creator castle that would reall be part of the Creator line. Beyond that, I imagine 6-7 is the max sets we are looking at for now. Then again, I see no reason why some of the modular stuff couldn't be spread around a couple of years. I'm meaning future ideas in general, not necessarily "What do you want to see in 2011".
  7. They actually used to have accessory sets and I miss them too. There have also been some small sets like the one you mention that would feature a knight, a horse, and a few weapons. Those would also be nice to see again. In general, I would like to see lots of small sets because I tend to buy many copies of them. As for the Creator set, basically my thinking is that a set jam packed with bley bricks and pieces needed for detail work (like the roofing tiles, doors, etc) would sell quite well. Most of the Castle sets of the last few years haven't been the greatest source of bley bricks (though I thought the Tower Raid and possibly the Drawbridge Defense were decent on this front). People see the large, very detailed castles others build when they come to websites like this and Classic-castle and they want to build things like that. A set like this will, I believe, encourage that because it will allow people to amass the bricks they need for the structure itself instead of searching Bricklink. I know I would buy more than one if it were done right. Then again, if they just made a Creator house primiarly in bley I would buy it too. Beyond that, I agree that another set of MMV quality would be nice. Either a civilian set or possibly a small outpost. It could't be a large castle unless the cost were extreme. Then again, I would love to see a large, very well made castle. It would easily be in $200+ range though.
  8. First, I should say that I searched through several recent pages and I didn't come across a similar thread so if there is one could someone point me in the right direction. So, we've seen what will be coming out later this year. It seems that Fantasy is over and we are going back to two human factions. Following the idea of the Future Star Wars ideas thread, I thought I would start this thread to see what people want to see down the road. Looking at the new Castle sets and some of the Star Wars sets (like the TIE Defender) it does appear that TLG listens to the fans (though we should have already known that, this is simply more proof) so threads like these will hopefully help get our wants and desires out there in case they are looking for them. Me personally, I would like to see the following: A Castle Creator set. A real one in the $50-70 range, not the small one from last year. There are a lot of ways to go with it. The first thing is, like the Creator houses, it probably won't have any figures. This will help it have a high piece count for it's cost. Beyond that, it could be just about anything that had lots of bley bricks. If it stuck primarily with bricks, there is no reason it couldn't be a small castle, a tower, a stretch of high border wall or outer castle wall, etc. I don't believe making alternate models will be difficult. It would be an excellent source of lots of bley parts. It could also be used as a place to get parts like roofing tiles that aren't easy to come by, like this one, hopefully in black or in bley for the structure itself. It would also be easy to finally release this piece in bley as well in a set like this. The set could serve as an intro to more detailed Castle building and could possibly feature limited landscaping as well. Modular sets I like that the sets for this year appear to be going back to certain elements of the old formula. This element would, in my opinion, be something else to shoot for. It also ties into having a greater number of smaller sets. With a few modular sets, people would be able to add on to the larger castle or build a smaller castle by combining the modular sets. They may have to be exclusives (maybe S@H exclusives for that matter), but having sets like the Guarded Inn, the Blacksmith Shop etc again would be great. Their newer counterparts would take advantage of better design obviously, but the idea would still be the same. An assortment of these could add real flavor to a castle. It would also be someplace to have peasant/civilian figures. Smaller sets This year's line up seems to taken on the idea that a number of small sets is a good thing and I am glad for that. We have a large castle and a mid range castle-type structure coming out. We also have an even smaller outpost type set. Now, just imagine if the large castle were modular and this set were as well. Then imagine that there were two sets in roughly this range and not just one. That would give us variety and a way to amass figures and parts. I know I am not the only one that can justify buying a number of small sets instead of one larger set. This way we get some bang for our buck and we can possibly build a small outpost or something out of it. Small structures would sell, I believe. Figure packs I'm talking about sets like we used to have. They would come with 5-6 figures of various factions and be sold on regular store shelves (if possible). Now, early in the run you have the issue of which factions to include. I figure there are two ways to do this. Either have two sets, one Lions the other Dragons, or you open it up to any figures they still have the prints to make. If you go the second route, it would be nice for there to be a current and retro pack at the same time. I suppose the variant of that is to make updated vesrions of older factions but that might be cost prohibitive if they are only for figure packs. Those are some general ideas of what I would like to see down the road. Here are some that are a little more specific. Blacksmith Shop Every side needs something like this to supply arms. It could come with a blacksmith and an apprentice or two. It would need to have numerous weapons and racks for the weapons. A furnace area with water near by. It would also come with chest armor pieces. If these are printed, it could come with some for both factions that way you can choose which side they are on. Maybe a soldier for each side so that one can act as the guard no matter which side you choose. A Jousting Tournament set I'm thinking a lot more like 6060 Knight's Challenge than the more recent set. This would have one or more royals, possibly a civilian or two, and some stands to fill out. The two horses would have barding and there would be a variety of weapons for the knights. We're likely going to get something like this at some point so I figure it would be nice if it were a little more like this one than the most recent one. Trade Caravan This would have multiple wagons (well, at least 2 anyway) loaded up with goods, jewels, or gold. They wouldn't have to be big wagons. Each could be driven by a peasant or merchant type. There would be a couple of soldiers to defend them and a couple to attack. We're going to get wagons so we may as well get decent ones that might give us civilian figures. An Armored Wagon/Carriage This would be a larger, armored wagon for the king of one side or the other (or some other member of the royality). it would probably be a two horse wagon and it would be enclosed. It would need a driver and at least 2 soldiers as guards. Again, if we're going to get wagons we as may as well get some variety. Small Ships I'm thinking ships like the Sea Serpent on this one. They add a little variety to the constant stream of siege engines. It would also possibly lead to a small dock set of some type or perhaps a sea side castle.
  9. Where have I been? There are new Harry Potter sets coming out?
  10. The problem is that often times it isn't really a "good or evil" situation. Our species will not be content with what we have. Ever. We will at least attempt to expand if it proves viable. When we do, we will need materials and land (or air space, or something). We will take what we want if nothing else opposes us. If something does, I believe we will at least attempt diplomacy first. If that fails, we will go with what has worked all throughout our own history. Taking it by force. If it is something super critical to our survival, the diplomacy phase will be very brief if it happens at all. Even now, there are too many people. We will eventually deplete the resources of this world. Either some type of population control (not very likely to happen on a global scale any time soon) or expansion will eventuall be necessary to our survival. When it's a matter of survival, right and wrong don't enter the equation. Those ideas are a luxory. Let future generations decide if what was done is right or wrong. They will be able to do that because the then current generation did what they did so there actually would be future generations. Survival trumps morality. Until resources are somehow infinite, there will always be competition. When there is competition, there are winners and losers. The winners may play dirty, but they survive to carry on their species. Would I prefer our future be a Star Trek esque utopia, of course. I don't see it happening though. I believe Star Wars is closer. There is still money. There are still corporations. There are still militaries and nationalities (sort of). I just don't think humanity is going to magically change it's ways. We are what we are.
  11. That's my only real concern as well. It appears that TLG has listened to AFOLs when designing these sets. Or, Fantasy wasn't as big of a seller as they had hoped so they looked to the surveys for ideas on where to go. Either way, it appears that they have listened the fans. If it doesn't do well, I can only wonder at what will come next. This somewhat appears to be the case for Star Wars this year as well. The TIE Defender has been on wanted lists for a while along with more Hoth themed sets. I don't follow the other lines enough to know if this seems to be happening there or not. Overall, if they are listening more to the fans on what to make and that ends up failing, who knows what will come next. I know I will be buying multiples of the lower end sets (assuming the pricing hasn't taken a rather dramatic turn towards the expensive for some reason) and at least one of each of the larger two sets (more if a good sale comes along). Edit to add: I meant to also say that if this is the result of listening to the fans, then if it does well we could see more fan desires down the road. If this sells, we might actually see a few peasants now and then or modular buildings, as a for instance.
  12. Well, I was entertained. It just wasn't absolutely fantastic in my opnion. I did like aspects of it. I just have major issues with the plot and those types of plots in general (when they are mishandled). I don't feel like I wasted my time or money, but I am not in any rush to watch it again.
  13. Yeah, I also got them together at WalMart lke that. I agree that it didn't seem as funny. I will give it credit for not having an overly long and completely random musical number though (I wish the first one didn't have that part). Overall I liked it though. Also, the less of their Obi Wan I see the better as far as I am concerned.
  14. I saw the new Sherlock Holmes movie over the weekend. I thought it was entertaining. I have only ever read 1 Holmes story (and it was fairly short) so I can't really compare it to the written fiction. Holmes was good at deduction (though a lot of it was the "we'll wait to the end to reveal anythng" type of deduction that some people may feel is kind of cheap). There were bits and pieces here and there that I figured out before the big reveal and . Watson was a dependable character and not a bumbling fool. You could actually believe he was a soldier and doctor even if Holmes had a better knack for detective work (though Watson wasn't exactly bad at it himself). The villain and his plot were decent. It's long, but not terribly slow. The action doesn't dominate the movie like the previews might lead you to believe. Overall I enjoyed it. Speaking of previews, in case anyone was counting on it, the entire sequence with Rachel McAdams in the Moulin Rouge style get up is nowhere to be found in this movie. I think I know where it was intended to go, but it isn't there. I can honestly say I was was somewhat disappointed by this fact.
  15. From what I can see of the sets, I really like them. I hope the green wizard is something other than the forestman torso (and likewise, something other than just a plain green torso). If not, oh well. I will still buy some of that impulse set for the small dragons if nothing else. The small sets look nice and I am happy that we have a variety on the lower end of things. I am assuming that the set with 2 soldiers will be in the $6-8 range and the wagon set will be in the $10-12 range. If so, I will likely buy lots of both of them to bulk up the armies of the 2 factions so they can hope to compete with my Crownies, Skeletons, and Orcs (all of which exceed 100 at the moment). I also like the two color schemes. I do kind of wish there were smaller sets that had figures for the two factions seperate from each other. In other words, one set with Dragon guys and one set with Lion (Unicorn?) guys. That is a minor complaint though. The two larger sets both look nice. The Dragon "castle" looks like a solid little fortress. I have been hoping for a smaller (smaller here means costs less than $100 and closer to $40-50) castle that was decently designed for a while now. I need to get a better look at it, but I could see getting more than one of that one. The Lion/Unicorn castle looks nice as well. It does somewhat remind me of the King's Castle Seige, but that's fine. I prefer the red highlights to blue. Also, I can use one of my KCS sets to expand this castle pretty easily if they really are similar. I don't know what to make of the middle set, the small outpost with the seige engine. If it is $20 (or maybe $30 if the piece count is favorable) I could see getting a few of them. The structure itself doesn't do much for me, but most of the parts will probably be used in the outpost which means they will be useful for other castle projects, or useful for expanding the large castle. Either way, if the price is right I will buy several because I can always use more castle bricks to make larger and more detailed castles. Overall, I really like them. I liked the Fantasy sets and I am somewhat sad to see them end before we had more dwarves (and maybe an appearance by the Elves), but these sets seem to be closer to the sets liked a while ago. The general set up is also similar, which I think is a better sales scheme. A few small, cheap sets to bulk up the armies, a small outpost, a mid range castle, and a large castle. The only things missing are for the castles to be more modular so they can be connected and a figure set like we used to have in the 80s. If this system lasts, maybe we will see more human factions down the road. Either new ones or perhaps "updates" of classics such as the Black Falcons. Of course, maybe my taste is odd because I actually liked some things from KK and KK2. Anyway, time to start saving money now so I don't go broke between these and TLG finally making some more Star Wars sets I actually want.
  16. I guess I had better pack my swimsuit. The plot was unoriginal at best. The villains (aka, most of humanity) were evil just to be evil with no real reason. We have no idea why they want that metal so badly and are left to wonder if they would really do all of this just to get something that is really shiny (space gold, perhaps). The movie uses every chance it has to tell you that humanity is evil and you should enjoy seeing people get killed by the "noble savages". While it was an okay movie, Cameron should have spent the last 10 years working on the plot and characters and not just dreaming up the effects and figuring out how to convey his anvilicious message. The man makes good movies, but they have flaws. Big flaws like all of his villains (that I have seen) amounting to cartoonish in nature with no motivation other than "they're evil, duh". I have problems with movies like this in general. You have a group that is vastly more powerful in some respect deciding it wants whatever the noble savages have and deciding they are going to take it. The noble savages meanwhile have an affinity with nature and talk on and on with the "traitor to his own people" character about nature this and nature that. Sometimes they have a very important message to remember in tales like this (in nature, the strong prey on the weak) and sometimes they don't. Either way, that's how nature works. Eventually though, the noble savages don't think it's fair that natures law is biting them in the backside pretty severely when their typically technologically superior opponents start beating them pretty badly. It turns out bothering to learn things like science lets you make some pretty awesome weapons as opposed to learning how to "commune with nature". So, in the end, the noble savages are hypocrits. Either they are all for "the way of nature", except when it beats them up and takes their stuff, or they really believe they are above that (being sentient and all) which makes you wonder what they are preaching about the whole time. Of course the real irony is that without technology and civilization we wouldn't have these stories that are supposed to make us all feel bad about being people. We would be too busy hunting animals and fighting the next tribe over (which never seems to get played up, I wonder why) to have these stories if it weren't for this awful, evil technology and advancement. Kind of like the Terminator movies. They need computers to make those great special effects but the message is that your computer is planning on nuking your race into oblivion and using your bandwidth to research time travel and robotics. Of course, I am content knowing the humans will probably just come back with nukes and take care of the Na'vi. Since all of humanity is evil to the core, they won't let themselves be beaten by space hippies when they can just nuke them. It's not like they plan on living there. Yet another movie with a happy ending until you really think about what probably happens next, like Return of the Jedi or The Matrix. Despite my complaints I was entertained, if completely unsuprised (the only suprise for me in the whole movie was that the Colonel's power armor had a combat knife). Cameron's movies are good, some are even fantastic (Aliens, T1,2), but they would all be so much better if he just spent a little bit of time making his villains real and not just cardboard cut outs. Or maybe try the moral gray zone for once and not have everyone as black and white. Edit to add: And another thing. Unobtainium. Really James Cameron? How long have you supposedly been working on this (otherwise known as "barrowing ideas from other, sometime obscure, sources") and you can't even think of a real name? I've heard this name used for a material in another movie. That movie was The Core. It's probably used in other movies that I don't know of, but anything that reminds of The Core reminds me of said movie and I generally think less of anything that reminds of The Core.
  17. I assume you are talking about T2 with this. As near as I can tell, this version seems to have the entire movie (if that is your concern) that was available on the 2 disc set released several years ago. The one I have is this one and it has 3 different versions of the movie on it which as far as I know include pretty much all footage for the movie. I am just going off the description for the first one there, but it sounds like it is either the special edition or the super deluxe edition so it either has a few of the scenes not in theaters or it has all of the scenes not in theaters.
  18. Either I am misunderstanding something or you guys need to read that just a little closer. It's in Canada which is still to my knowledge not part of the United States. So, I take you are meaning the Canadians are over reacting and have an obsession with guns? Or it's typical, pointless, (and as often as not wrong) America bashing. It gets real tired guys. As for the "event", all I can say, overreact much? So, after his neighbor spies on him he calls the cops who, from the sounds of things, send in the equivalent of the SWAT team. On the say so of a guy's cell phone pics (of one lone guy putting together one hand gun), they send in the SWAT team. I assume there is nothing close to real crime in this city for them to be able to waste resources like that. A couple of uniformed cops could have knocked this out in a couple of minutes. If he had been assembling say, an assault rifle, I could see the need. As is, the cops can pretty clearly see what he is making. The lesson here is that guy needs to buy some blinds and his neighbor needs to get a hobby that doesn't involve him spying on his neighbors.
  19. Here are some I would love to see. A few have already been said but I'll throw in my support in case anyone at TLG is reading. 1) Sherlock Holmes 2) Cavewoman 3) Cheerleader with different color scheme 4) Football Player-We have cheerleaders, may as well give them a team to cheer for. 5) Ringmaster-We have a clown and a magician (and possibly the wrestler if you want to go that far), why not some other circus/fair folks. 6) Rocker-Male or Female, hopefully with a guitar 7) Mime-Keeping with the circus/entertainment theme 8) Roman Soldier 9) Sports Fan-A guy painted up in team colors 10) Black Falcon King-It's very specific, but I figure it might be possible 11) Bishop/Monk-Both are unlikely, but they would be nice for Castle scenes. Maybe make it Friar Tuck to get by with it. 12) Egyptian Soldier or an Egyptian figure with an Anubis style head piece. 13) Werewolf-Either a better head design than the current one or at least mutlicolored 14) Maid Marian 15) Minstrel 16) Rogue or Swashbuckler type-Feathered hat, cape, rapier. Works for Castle and Pirates if done right.
  20. I admit I only know of Bane from the two books about him (soon to be three), but I don't recall him doing those things. I would like to believe I would remember him force storming the entire Sith order and blowing up a planet. I'm honestly not sure all of those those attributes apply to any one character for that matter. Also, someone that can do that is overpowered but Darth Nihilus (KotoR 2) isn't?
  21. I see what you're saying. However, I believe with the lions being one of the two factions, they are going to be viewed as the default good guys if the other (snake or dragon) are even slightly "evil" in appearance. That was why I said I would prefer they not have an obvious alliance with the current fantasy villains. Then at least some attempt can be made to rationalise them being good guys. My comments were my preferrence for snake themed characters. Were it up to me, the other faction wouldn't be lions. They really should look into other animals (if they are absolutely dead set on sticking with animals, which is an idea I am also not in love with) like eagles, horses (also a good excuse for them to have lots of mounted figures), etc. Lions don't have a monopoly on "good" (or majestic, noble, or whatever the idea is). As for dragons, I believe as often as not they are used as villains. Obviously there are exceptions. I do admit snakes are more widely viewed as a symbol of evil though. I just want something we don't already have.
  22. I honestly don't follow you here. If the game never had cheats, then it never had cheats and you are talking about some kind of mod. Or, you're talking about bypassing the normal means of unlocking things, likely also through a mod or some type of saved game. Games either have cheats or they don't. I am talking about cheats, not saved games or mods. If that's what you want, then go ahead and buy something like action replay. If you're talking about cheat codes, the vast majority of them are free on the site I linked to. Maybe we aren't on the same page with terminology here.
  23. Or go here for free. Why pay for cheats (or cheat books or cheating devices) if there here for free? If you want BFII (PS2) specific codes, they are here. Maybe there's something action replay has that isn't here, but I never saw the point in paying for it to find out.
  24. I'm kind of torn on this. I am glad we will continue to have Castle sets as it is my favorite theme. I am also glad we will have more human factions. I enjoyed the multiple human factions we had in the 80s. On the other hand, I also like the various fantasy monsters we now have as well and I would honestly like to see more of them (mainly elves). With the human factions, we get diversity amongst our human kingdoms. I am hoping we might see the return of smaller castles as well, since they were around when we had multiple human factions. Something in the range of the Black Falcon Fortress perhaps. That's probably a pipe dream though. I do hope that they don't have a human faction obviously allied with an existing evil faction. I also hope that this means we will see some villagers at some point. With the non human factions, the only thing I would want out of them that we are likely to not get now is greater figure diversity. We started to get that with the trolls. Some other undead to go with the skeletons might have been nice. Maybe elves to round it out. As for the "dragon or snake" issue, my preference is for a snake theme. We have one dragon theme and we have dragons. A snake theme would provide a little more diversity. Snake themed villains are also featured in many fantasy themes, such as Conan (the followers of Set) and D&D (the Yuan-Ti, likely not alone). I could definately use them as followers of a Thulsa Doom like figure. Also, we might get more snakes in larger sizes than the little basic ones. If they want to get real creative, snake themed buildings or seige engines could be interesting as well. I'll live with dragons, but I would prefer snakes.
  25. I saw Boondock Saints 2 last night. It was mostly a terrible mess. I think I see now why it took so long to make this movie. I have no idea what kind of talking it took to greenlight this (probably all the sales of Boondock Saints merchandise at Hot Topic). It's not bad like a grindhouse movie because it at least has production value. It does also have it's occasional moments. However, they are outweighed by the movie trying to be more (or less, or who knows what else) than it is. Similar to "funny people" (which was not funny unless you like absolutely nothing but bad sex jokes, or at least what pass for bad sex jokes, for an entire movie), the language just went into absurd mode at several points. I get that people like to drop the F bomb, but after a point it's just a sign of bad writing, especially if multiple characters suffer this "condition". Oddly enough, one guy does actually have terrets(sp?) in this movie and I think he was one of the characters with the fewest uses of it. I would advise most people to avoid this.
