  1. Soccerkid6, the walls are actually mostly modular. The 2-window section and the larger blank brick faces (which are where the platform doors are on the platform side) were contructed as 1 piece to copy/paste with overlapping cap tiles. Where doors or other unusual features are I just deleted wherever the door would end up. When I'm actually able to build this the modular method should help out as well; most of the wall construction will be about 16 wide panels that I can make all at once and tie together with cap tiles and foundation bricks.
  2. LEGO Train 12 Volts and LegoSjaak, thank you, unfortunately it will be some time until I can realize this in real Lego. The First storey alone is sitting at about 12,000 bricks, mostly 1x2 plates, so it'll be awhile before I can afford it all. Streifen, you can find a breakapart of the bench at my Brickshelf gallery, it should be moderated already.
  3. Streifen, permission is freely given to steal anything you want from this, thank you for the compliments. It took a long time to figure out how to elegantly represent that type of bench in Lego. They're based loosely on these, from King Street Station, Seattle (they still use some of them, along with questionable newer style benches). Legocrazy81, thank you for your kind words. One of the issues I've always had with official Lego sets is their lack of detail, which I guess is why I have never managed to keep a set together longer than a week. My parent's were not happy about how my Space Shuttle (1682-1) go torn apart so quickly when I was a kid.
  4. So I've been futzing around in LDD to make up for my current lack of access to the real deal and decided to start on a terminal station for 8 wides. Here's some screen shots. Exterior Window Detail, not all of the windows have this as there were some missing bricks when I moved the walls Cafe Bench Detail Ticketing Counter Baggage Check, baggage retrieval will be outside somewhere Boarding Kiosks Platforms, those phantom overhangs and random red constructions are part of the building that didn't migrate with the walls, the overhangs will go directly over the doors and connect to the platform shelters The station will be 3 stories as I envision it now, with most of the floor open all three stories, a restaurant balcony, and third story office space surmounted by a clocktower. Let me know what you think, criticism and suggestions are always welcome.
  5. I've been fooling around in LDD with a reimagining of the classis Metroliner. Due to some confusion on my part about how automatic resizing for hotlinked images works the pics got pulled, so now here's the EB compliant ones. Here's a link to my Brickshelf Gallery of the larger pics. The rake: The engine, which I think I'd rather see with the classic nose: The Baggage and Bar car: Coach: The Observation Car: And finally, the Sleeper Car:
  6. Your MOCs don't even look like Lego, I'm stunned. They remind me of summers in Newport, OR. Good work, keep the pics coming.
  7. Going along with everyone else, that espresso machine looks nice. Could you post some detail pics of it? I'm really curious about how you made the grounds cups.

Stunning, effective use of the faux brick around the windows. My only criticism would be that I think it would look better to add a capstone brick above the windows where there is room. Your MOC is amazing.

Your attention to detail is amazing. I am especially struck by that black car (from in front of the Citroen dealer and hotel).
  10. Very creative. I especially like the details of the ladders and sink. One question, have you thought about moving the base plate for the coal on your coal wagons down some? Looking at top down pictures I think it would add a little more realism to the coal wagons if the coal pile extended beneath the sides a little. Great job.
  11. I love the design of those buildings. Your kids did a fantastic job.
  12. I am so thoroughly jealous. Your layout looks awesome, have fun filling it out.
  13. I don't have any flex track right now as I'm currently a 9 volter. But, in my fantasy terminal station I'm mocking up in LDD and BlueBrick the flex track has been useful in creating a nonstandard track layout. The track spacing will end up as sets of two tracks with 4 stud gaps and 10 stud gaps between the sets for platforms. Without the flex tracks I wouldn't be able to ahieve this more realistic (IMO) layout.
  14. Hi all, I'm Scott and I've been a Lego user since I was a kid in the 80's. My only train right now is a Metroliner (in pieces) that I got when I was a kid. Love seeing all the MOCs and layouts here.
  15. Thanks I Scream Clones for editing the first post with the answer to the question so I didn't have to slog through the entire thread. I did see the post about how the 10 post minimum has been added to the TOS, however I couldn't find anything about it in the Help section of the site. It would be helpful if the isssue were addressed there as well.
