I was initially VERY unimpressed when I saw pics of the large Hulk figure. After actually getting my hands on him my opinion changed and I actually really like him. While his articulation is limited (I really wish he had a movable head) I don't think you can have a true Hulk character unless he's bigger than the regular-sized human folk. To me, the minifig version of the Hulk is just silly looking when placed alongside the other Avengers. So I am all for larger figures when appropriate. The idea of a mid-sized figure is certainly intriguing and definitely would have applications, especially for the comic book universe.

American Pickers go to Tatooine - Episode I
Brickscape replied to Brickscape's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
Thanks everyone! I'm still trying to work up the energy to finish the series (out in the larger junkyard). I went real simple when putting the comic together. I just created dialog balloons (and other text effects) in PowerPoint and pasted them into the images in Paint and saved them as new image files. -
I'm just psyched that the female alien is an official part of Alien Conquest with the proper logo on the chest and everything. Bring on series 8!

Here's my first foray into the world of LEGO comics combining one of my favorite TV shows with one of my favorite movies. I made minifigs of Mike and Frank and then got the crazy idea of them picking Watto's junk shop and thus this comic was born. The pics below have been reduced in size which has made the dialog balloons a bit fuzzy, but check the link at the end for clearer pics. Enjoy! The original can be found here and the rest of the series (so far) can be found here.

I agree with everyone here, awesome job! Yours is a drool-worthy true Transformer. I'm gonna go back and stare at the pics some more now.

After reading through several pages of back posts, it seems like I've finally found "my people." It's nice to find other folks who love Alien Conquest like I do. I got absolutely hooked on the theme about a year ago when I broke down and bought the Earth Defense HQ set (it just looked too awesome to resist). After that, I made several MOCs because I felt there were just too few ADU vehicles in the official line. Here's a link to my AC MOCs. Hope you like them and would love to see any other AC MOCs, too (like that huge display from a few pages back).

Oh man! I need that female commander fig! That is awesome! I heard there would be a "female alien" in series 8 but this is the first pic I've seen. As to the hope of a second wave of AC sets, I remember reading something somewhere (I cannot remember where) in which one of the AC designers was asked about the future of the line and he was cagey with his answer. If anyone else remembers reading this and knows where it came from, please remind me. Could that be an indication that there might actually be more to come? I know that it would be highly irregular for such a gap to occur in a theme but I would certainly be the first in line to buy any new sets should they be released. AC is at the top of my list of favorite themes and I was very sad to hear there wasn't going to be a second wave. Here's hoping that maybe there will be a surprise for us AC fans in the future. **EDIT** Did some digging and remember where I read the above. It was the AC thread at FBTB and the author was talking about an interview with designer Mark Stafford in issue 17 of BrickJournal.

ROTJ has always been my favorite of the SW films (it was the first one I saw as a child) and this Rancor set (along with the new version of Jabba's Palace) are a real dream come true for me. I was always bummed that I missed out on the first Jabba's Palace sets but these are WAY better. Good things come to those who wait I guess. I know this is a Star Wars thread but good catch on that one! Now I'm really curious....

Thanks for all the kind words everyone! As I said, this remains the favorite of my Star Wars MOCs (and maybe of all my MOCs) and I really wanted it to look like it belonged within the Separatist family of craft (along side the Geonosian fighter and Flitknot speeder). I totally get what you're saying and here's my two cents: The ion cannons are a secondary weapon system included purely for salvaging enemy vessels rather than destroying them. Each fighter's ion cannons are not hugely powerful. In the case of a large salvageable ship, the fighters are meant to act in concert to disable it. Even if one wants to argue that ions cannons would be a drain no matter what (which is fine with me), that simply provides a solid weakness for this class of ship. In my opinion every ship has to have weaknesses and I'm perfectly happy with Gunray's desire for salvage creating a weakness among his escort ships. There's something a bit poetic about that. I agree that such a droid would look better with the overall color scheme but I actually wanted a droid that looked a bit more "Geonosian" in color (as the ships were designed, built and often piloted by Geonosians).

I created this earlier this year and it's my favorite Star Wars MOC. I'm a big fan of the Separatists and the Geonosians and wanted to do something that fit in with that design aesthetic and the Separatist Escort Starfighter was born... Click here for more pics. Background info on the starfighter: CIS Vespex-Class Escort Starfighter Commissioned by Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray shortly after the start of the Clone Wars and designed and built by the Huppla Pasa Tisc Shipwrights Collective, Vespex-class fighters serve primarily as escort vessels for Separatist shuttles and supply ships. While he would never admit it, the cowardly Viceroy wasn't willing to trust his security to droids alone as even the most advanced droids have limitations and are no match for a truly gifted pilot. Vespex fighters are usually piloted by members of an elite group of the Geonosian pilot caste but the control systems can be modified for use by other species. The fighter's weapon systems include two pairs of lasers and a pair of ion cannons. The ion cannons can be used in those instances when salvage of a valuable enemy vessel is desired (Gunray never misses an opportunity for profit). Each fighter is also equipped with an auxiliary astromech droid socket. Although they are not necessary for operation, astromechs are often employed on long duration missions to prevent pilot fatigue. The model features a hinged canopy, folding wings, a removable and repositionable hatch for the astromech socket and a small storage compartment (accessed by removing the tail piece).

Hello Eurobrickers! I'm an AFOL from the U.S.A. (Wisconsin). I'm a complete comic book and sci-fi nerd. In the world of LEGO, I'm particularly fond of the Alien Conquest, Space Police III, Star Wars and Marvel Superheroes lines. I've been on MOCpages and elsewhere for years but was pointed in the direction of this fine site only recently and I've been enjoying my time here so far. Glad to be here and I look forward to getting to know some of my fellow LEGO enthusiasts.

I made these years ago and it was the project that brought me out of my dark ages. I was really into Farscape and for some reason I decided I needed LEGO versions of the characters and vehicles. First, a wide shot of all the figures... A closer shot showing (from left to right): Aeryn Sun, Pilot, a DRD and John Crichton... Ka D'Argo, Pa'u Zotoh Zhaan, Chiana and a Halosian (from the episode "Out of Their Minds)... And lastly, Captain Bialar Crais, Commandant Grayza, Scorpius, a Peacekeeper pilot and Dominar Rygel XVI...

That black suit Spidey is sweet looking. Here's hoping it sees a wider release in the future. If I remember correctly the black suit did make an appearance in the "Ultimate Spider-Man" cartoon so it could happen (fingers crossed).

I don't really care who the characters are or what they look like as long as LEGO gives us MORE stuff. I had my doubts about this year's Marvel stuff when it was first shown, but now I'm definitely hooked and I need MORE. I'll take anything from the Marvel universe!

Here's my LEGO version of some members of my favorite super team - Marvel's Runaways. The Runaways are perfect for a purist translation because they don't wear costumes. In the pic below (from left to right): Old Lace, Chase Stein (w/ fistigons), Karolina Dean (doing her Lucy in the Sky thing), Nico Minoru (w/ the Staff of One) and Victor Mancha. Still hoping for the right pieces to make Gert, Xavin and my favorite Runaway, Molly.
