  1. Helm smiled. Ah, you wish to battle with the mind not the dice. Points to a nearby chessboard... Do you play at all? If so, then I challenge you, name your bet and then make your move. You may play as white.
  2. Helm flips a coin from hand to hand and wonders if any heroes want to lose all of their money gamble a little. He sets up on a table against the wall, placing three cups upside down and places a coin on the table. Then he waits for an unfortunate fool curious character to approach.
  3. OOC: I know I probably won't be chosen, so this is mostly just for RP. Helm watched the pikeman enter the hall and make his announcement with obvious interest. Judging from the looks the other people in the hall gave the uniform of the pikeman, he gathered it should have meant something to him...only it didn't. Regardless, any chance at a fight was a chance at a fight, and if the battle so far had been large enough to render a heroica adventurer incapable of fighting, all the better. He loosened his sword in his sheath and bravely signed his name on the parchment, again writing it a large and bold HD.
  4. As nothing of importance seems to be going on, Helm sits on a bench in the corner, folding his feet under him. Out of his pack he pulls a piece of charcoal and parchment, and proceeds to draw one of the many statues...
  5. *Nods sadly* That is a hard position to be in. My own land is far from perfect, but I am also drawn to it. I may return anytime I wish though, I cannot imagine being stranded from all of those whom I love. If there is anything I can do to help...
  6. Helm turns from the quest board and returns to conversing with you. "Interesting, I have never heard of this place. Tell me, where can it be found, and what is it like?"
  7. "The horn of Helm Hammerhand shall sound in the deep, one last time." Favorite part of the whole movie! It is funny you mention it, especially since my character is basically a homeric version of Theoden.
  8. It seems that once I hit 10 posts it went away. *Points at better formatted signature* As for the face, I wanted something distinctly...barbarian. Wild and unkept. Plus I have been looking for a good use for that hair piece for ages.
  9. Helm approaches a large board set prominently in the hall. It quickly becomes apparent that it is where people in need of aid post an advertisement. One, larger that the rest, catches his eye. Foul demons? In need of a sword? He hissed softly at the thought of demons, he would love to sink his blade into some lesser spawn... And as for swords, although he was not a smith himself he was familiar with the art and had even overseen the creation of the blade he now carried. Finding a piece of charcoal, he plastered a large HD across the main text of the paper, obscuring most of it. He examined his handywork and chuckled softly. Helm signs-up for quest #25!
  10. A wild Sloop approaches!

  11. Oh, thank you! *Adds to sig* Now I just need to get past the board signature sensoring so I can properly format my stats... On other topics, hello everyone! This RPG is the main reason I joined the site, I have been lurking for a while and finally got around to typing up a backstory and digging through the lego buckets. Hopefully I can get into a quest fairly soon and I even have a few ideas for running a quest or two of my own (once I get a little more experience of course).
  12. To your surprise, the barbarian turns towards you both and speaks in clear *whatever the hay language is spoken commonly in the free islands*, () "Hullo, yes I am new to the island, I have traveled a long way to find myself here. I am Heyerlan, but most of your kind call me Helm. Word has reached even my lands of the glory that is to be had in joining the ranks of heroica. That is why I am here."
  13. A lone traveler approaches the gate to the hall, his dress shows him to be a foreigner, and his choice of weapons proves him to be a vicious fighter. Heyerlan, gurantara'stah. He mutters under his breath as he enters the gate, staring with ill-concealed wonder at the many relics and experienced adventurers around him. He scans the crowd around him, looking for someone who appears to be a guide or a teacher of some sort.
  14. I like the spiky look of the fins, and of course the water effect. The minifigs are also well chosen.
  15. I have tried all three of the methods posted here. The eraser is the one I use as it seems to work on all parts and doesn't involve fiddling with washcloths and brasso. The toothpaste only suceeded in flavoring the minifig () and the brasso works very well but can be a little fiddly.
  16. I am amazed by this MOC. I believe the parts that make me the most happy are the hands and the helmet, I might have to borrow some of your techniques for a statue I am working on.
  17. There are several things I am excited about for this theme: -The highly ornate minifig parts. -Uruk-kai shield. -Gollum -'Ring' accessory.
  18. Or you could open a new extended creation and then import the old file into it. Either way should work fine.
  19. What I like best are the pastel colors, they are spot on! Hope to see some more soon.
  20. Hello All! I'm the latest member of this rather...interesting looking community, and I'm guessing I will have lots of fun! I have been playing with Legos for as long as I can remember, and my favorite sets are some of the old castle and classic space. I have not been building many MOCs lately, but I'm hoping that looking around the site will inspire me to do so. Likes: Computer Programming, Hats, Cheeseburgers, Roleplaying Games, Lord of the Rings, Writing, Cooking, and pretty much any other Nerdy Pursuit. Dislikes: Calculus (It is the bane of my college existence!), Babies, Snobs, Jocks, Preppy People who have Goaties, and Poorly Written Horror Stories.
