Finished my "10188 Death Star" last night after four evenings of afterwork building. What a great build! I can't stop staring at it and turning it around... Now, there is the problem of a proper display place. Where to put it? It can't stay on the coffe table in our living room or the desktop in my workroom, and there is not enough space on my shelves. I hadn't thought before of the storage problem after buying and building the beast of a Star Wars set (I just longed for it). I have disassembled most of my sets and stored them in resealable plastic-bags, but there is no way I would do this to the Death Star. How do you display your Death Star (or plan to do it) and how do you arrange the minifigs of the set?

Will it be an US-exclusive set or will it be available in europian countries, too? It is a beautiful LEGO SW set, a jewel for every collection. I hope, that everyone gets the opportunity to buy this set in his country...

ISD. I've build both. The ISD looks more impressive, it's an iconic ship of the Star Wars universe and comes with a great collection of imperial minifigs. Don't get me wrong, the sail barge is a great set, but the ISD is just a bit better.

I added some brightness to the pics to get a better look at the ship. Meh, looks awkward and chunky...

Help choose a Lego Star Wars 10th annaversiry set (2009) Part 2 - Voti

Don't forget Captain Raymus Antilles, imperial officers (in black uniforms) or a silver 3-PO unit, but you're right, it would not be the most exciting set minifigwise... -
Help choose a Lego Star Wars 10th annaversiry set (2009) Part 2 - Voti

My vote: - OT - Minifig Scale - Tantive IV It seems that the fans of the OT divide their votes between the "Endor bunker battle" and the "Tantive IV". The PT voters agree on the "Jedi temple"... -
Good job! I like the storytelling effect - e.g. one of the clone troopers ducks for cover with his back leaning at the wall, waiting for the right moment to open fire again. *y*

Well, I redid the background of the first pic (and reworked some of the speech bubbles). You're right, the blurred background looks far better. Thanks again!

Thanks for the advice! This really is helping a lot. :-D I will bear your tips in mind when working on the next part (but it will take a lot more time than the last part, though)...

Beautiful and elegant! I envy your talent. Your MOCs are masterpieces. Great storytelling, too! *y*

That's hilarious! And it looks cool, too. *y*

Thank you for that! Sure, I'll work again on the comic, just as I said, it's fun to do stuff like this. I'm glad, that some people like it. Thanks for the interest...

I'll second that! *wub*

I have to admit that I like the new bley better. The old grey looks a little bit "washed-out" in comparison.

Maybe Solo has some german ancestors... :-D Meh, there are better sets to spend your money for...

Best year and set: 08 and the Rebel Speeder, without question. Those rebel minifigs are just superb and characterful.

Since there is no way that you suck as bad as I do when it comes to MOCs, I think you'll do great. I need to use a crutch like photo editors to get along (my scenes are crude, I know - it's a lack of time, parts and inspiration). But it's just fun to fiddle about a little with some favourite parts or sets... :-) Your project starts with a great idea and strong cast of characters, I'm really looking forward to it. Thanks for the feedback and have fun! ;-)

Great work, looks amazing! The fine detail, the lively and lordly expression. It's a minifig, yes, but it is graceful... *y*

Wow, great! It's really fun to look at it. So many rare sets (I love the geonosis battle diaroma and the sandcrawler trek). Thanks for showing us!

Most are stored in resealable plastic bags with the appropriate sets. Some are displayed in formation (e.g. stormtroopers with officers) or within the appropriate sets in my showcase. I also have a sorted collection of spare minifig parts within plastig bags.

Space and dust. I replace display sets from time to time and dedust older sets with feather duster and q-tips. It's really pesky...

I had some time to work on the second part of the comic. Here are the new shots so far: I would like to hear what you think about it (advice is appreciated), thanks! EDIT: I reworked some speech bubbles and the background of the first pic.

I would like some gothic horror line, something set in the victorian age with several classic horror themes intermixed, with vampire/witch hunters (van Helsing anyone?), werewolves, vampires, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde minifigs, Frankenstein's laboratory, graveyards, ghosts houses or castles etc. Maybe with some Halloween special sets... I would also love LotR Sets! *sweet*

Thanks again for the feedback! @imperialshadows At first I planned to decorate the Walls and the floor with all sorts of different grey tiles to hide the studs, but I made one test shot without tiles and was satisfied with the result (the shadows on the surface). With some dirt smeared on the wall plates (I used old and heavily marked plates I bought at a flea market someday), the whole scene looked grimy and shadowy (and the studs emphasize the whole look, I think). Oh, and thanks for pointing out that I made a mistake with the name "Nar Shaddaa" (geez, I've read so many Star Wars novels, own some SW lexica and still I confuse and mispell names of characters and places). I will correct it. I don't know when my job and my studies (or my fianc

@imperialshadows Thanks for the links! @SlyOwl I like most of the classic & the current castle sets, but the classic sets are more charming, I think. *sigh* The good ol' days when the only choice had to be made between raven and lion... ;-)
