I've had one ParcelForce and one DHL order so far. DHL were easy to rearrange delivery. ParcelForce were a bit of a mare (they sent it to a Post Office that I can only get to with very expensive parking and refused to send it to the Post Office I wanted them to).

I've collected my delivery of Cafe Corner and Market Street. :-D

I don't physically own either yet (Cafe Corner has been dispatched but I haven't got my paws on it yet). I've obviously made my choice when I was trying to decide what to buy and picked CC over Town Plan. I did take a reasonable amount of time to consider. Town Plan is an awesome set, it also has that special 50 year anniversary appeal. To me, the biggest advantage Town Plan has over CC though is playability for kids (which doesn't apply in the same way to AFOLs like us). Even although the buildings could be separate sets, there is something very appealing about getting them all in one big set as an instant bonanza. I especially like the 50s style architecture on the cinema. However good as Town Plan is, the modular buildings such as CC just stomp all over it. They are breathtaking. They are on an entirely different level. The size and detail of these sets is astonishing. They are a townie AFOLs dream sets. So my basic result would be: Town Plan (wins as a set for kids and adults who want to play with driving cars around Town Plans :-) ), CC (wins for adults).

When I had one of those 3-4 piece floating hulls, being able to play with in the bath was very important to me (I was a little kid!). Later on, a group of about 4 of us build a huge brick battle cruiser and ceremonially "floated" it on a pond (of course, it went down with all mini-figs and we had to get someone's Dad to fish it out). Since then, no boats on water (I was quite disappointed in the Viking boat set I've got).

This isn't really about attacking bricklink, it's preventing other people using bricklink as a precedent for the use of "lego" by other companies other than TLC. They could have been much nastier about how they chose to go ahead with this (e.g. demanded bricklink got taken down, immediately deletion of accounts containing "Lego").

Thanks, everybody. I have indeed seen the new Town Plan but I had to stop somewhere or else not eat *sweet* (Cool hat on that minifig, Bonaparte).

I like the minor detail of the fire tool(s) clipped to the side of the fireplace. This is just such a fantastic looking set. Even the empty 2nd floor is a good size and well-proportioned for doing your own interiors.

Hi! I'm brickbrick. As a kid I was a big Lego fan and then I had a very long Dark Age (now mid-30s). A few years back I did buy a bit of Lego again (Blacksmith's Shop, The re-release of Black Falcon's Castle) which was a lot of fun but there wasn't a lot of new sets around of interest to me and I sunk back into a mini-Dark Age. However... I've just seen the new pictures of the 10185 the Greengrocer's and I'm just blown away. I hadn't heard of any of this modular town stuff but it's just like the Lego I always wanted (and failed) to build as a kid. I've just ordered Cafe Corner and Market Street (ouch!) and I'm can't wait for it to be delivered. And then I need to start thinking of doing some interiors for them and maybe doing a modular MOC or two. And, of course, getting the Greengrocers as soon as it's available in the UK.
