Finally I was able to pick up a 8043 in a TRU. After thinking about what to do with this set (to wait for the already pre-ordered Service Pack from LEGO) I decided to start building Jurgen's entire modification of this set. And I know I did it right. Many thanks to Jurgen for everthing he did to bring us the instructions for a really working 8043. Awesome job! Lifting and lowering the large arm works excellent with this mod and is definitely not longer a problem of this set. The probs I still have is a rattling sound from inside the two upper LA's. I'll still try another LA swap or have to wait to get the replacement LA's from Lego in the Service Pack. Also, the Excavator has the right speed, the drive itself is very jerky and could be smoother. Now I just hope for a mid-size bucket in one of 2011 Technic Sets. Thanks again to Jurgen. WTG! Great to have such awesome people in an awesome forum like EUROBRICKS. Ralph

Was really happy when I found 8258 right after christmas in the BOD of a big grocer. Believe it or not - I got it for Euro 12,99. The price of a Star Wars Battle Pack or, if it sounds better, I only had to pay for the XL-motor of the set. Box was still sealed but the cover was missing. But for that price ...

[REVIEW] 8043 - Excavator
Routemaster replied to Blakbird's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi there, Piece Count isn't all what counts. With the new Excavator you get alot of big parts. Okay, I'm a little disappointed to get only M-motors with this set. At least one XL-motor would have been nice. Just checked bricklink and Peeron: For the new Excavator you only have to pay for 120 black Technic Pins. Last year's flagship had 360!!! incl. the extra ones. I still have to wait for the release of the new Technic sets in local stores. Don't want to buy online. Maybe it's good to wait this time. Hopefully TLG gets the problems many of you have fixed. Anyway can't wait to get my hands on this set. Ralph -
[Review] 8076 Deep Sea Striker
Routemaster replied to Plissken's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the review! It's size is really impressive. Just awesome. As a fan of brickbuilt creatures it's a must buy for me in the next couple days. I've already seen it at "Real" but first had to pick up the Exploration HQ there. -
A really fantastic set without a doubt. I don't have a problem with the bottom pillars but I really have a problem with the missing towers to the left and right of the London Tower Bridge. To me this landmark set is incomplete.

LEGO 8684 Minifigures Series 2 (Official Pictures)
Routemaster replied to GRogall's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'll buy them all again! My favs are the Mime, the Mexican, Vampire, the Spartan and the guy with the black clown's hair piece. Looks like a comedian from TV, Atze Schröder. Does anyone know if there are more series in progress? I think for most of us it's time to ask. We need replenishment after Series 2. -
Many thanks for this review, starstreak. I really like this set and it's right behind the Western Train Chase on top of my list from all sets of the 2nd Toy Story wave. What I like most are the rare dark green parts of the truck, all the new minifigs and of course the play value of the set. Really great set!

And they can add a Power Functions XL-Motor for the wings (plus IR-Receiver of course) and a Sound-brick for the parrot's voice.

Hehehe......would be really excited to see a 1200-pieces Parrot maybe in the Creator line. Why not? I mean after all those houses, helicopters, cars, etc. it would be a seasonable change - IMHO. The Creator Monster Dino from 2007 is still one of my all time favorites.

Thanks for the great review. I'm glad I got a set at Kaiser's/Tengelmann. I really like this parrot. For the back of the parrot I replaced the 1x2 red brick for a red Slope Brick 45 2 x 2. This set is really one of the better polybag sets. Hope to see some more sets of this size and quality in the near future. And may everyone be able to get one of these sets.

TECHNIC Sets from 2010
Routemaster replied to LordGalewind's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Can anyone tell what it is on the 8041 box in the orange Power Function stripe? Right above the Lego-card? Battery box, ok. The two remote controls, ok. But then. What is it? Looks new to me. -

After 15 min in the 0-position really NO visible rotation. I'm surprised myself. -
Review: 8258 Crane Truck
Routemaster replied to starstreak's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi Enilder, I guess you have the white 24 gear clutch in mind . I'm talking about the 16 tooth gear with clutch . If this is upside down the transmission driving ring can't go in the 16 tooth gear with clutch and you don't have an idle. That's the reason why my crane didn't stop rotating. -
Review: 8258 Crane Truck
Routemaster replied to starstreak's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hello everyone, just finished my 8258 Truck with all MOD's from designer-han's site. I had the problem that the crane always rotated. After two days checking and rechecking I found out I placed the lower 16 tooth gear with clutch upside down. While checking the building instructions I found out that the two black Technic Axle Joiner Perpendicular are not leftovers. Check building instructions book three, picture 115 or 116 and you'll know where they belong. Happy building! Ralph -
REVIEW: 8188 Fire Blaster (Power Miners)
Routemaster replied to CaptainRex110's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the Review. Nice little set. I really like the little monsters and of course the silver outfit of the miner. The vehicle itself looks great. What I dislike: No yellow christal that fits to the colour of the monster .... and can't see those rims anymore. Would finally like to see some new rims for this wheel size in the near future. Will definitely buy this set. -
Thanks for the pics. Can't wait to get all Toy Story Sets. This year all new sets showed up two to three weeks earlier than expected. Maybe we'll find a few of the Toy Story Sets right before christmas? That would be great. Can't wait, can't wait any longer.

Sign me up! After the pirates it's time for cowboys and indians again. Great idea Klaus-Dieter.
