Thanks for your excellent suggestions Mister Quidditcher! I was thinking of using the Hogwarts Hermione Granger Microfig as the imperial queen. Leia is indeed a problem - The Lego Champion Female Microfigs would work in a Return of the Jedi themed chess set though.

My 7-year old son and his friends are crazy about playing the LEGO SW Chess MOCs I made for him.

Would a SW Chess set with theming and microfigs from the Battle of Hoth gameset have a better chance at being made by TLG?

So if you have to build your chess set that could technically pass the loophole?

I understand that there is no LEGO Star Wars Chess yet due to licensing issues with Hasbro. Anyone know more about this issue?

Thanks Fuppylodders! I hope TLG releases this as an affordable series with unique configurations for every Star Wars episode. Thank you JackJonespaw! For now I've ended up with doubled Lukes and Vaders as the King and Queen for each side. More Star Wars microfigs to choose from would indeed be awesome.

I made a LEGO Star Wars micro chess set using the microfigures from the awesome new Battle of Hoth gameset: The only catch is that there is no Princess Leia microfigure for the Rebel Queen:(

Please explain why?
