LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion
h-7 replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Will future series contain a super rare figure like Mr. Gold? While I did find a Mr. Gold I would hate to see Lego keep the trend of very limited figures in theses series. On a side note I received the Lego Minifig encyclopedia the other day and the page for Mr. Gold said something like " Its Rumored that those who find Mr. Gold will have a lucky day" Oddly enough the Saturday I found one I also bought a powerball ticket and a scratch off. The powerball ticket won me 7.00 and the scratch off won another free scratch off. Just thought it was kinda funny. I was unusually lucky as I never win on those things.- 1,076 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion

I would have been happy with the set without Mr. Gold. However I am excited I found one. I actually figured I had slim to no chance of finding one in my state. Looking at the Mr. Gold tracking there have been none reported anywhere close to me. To be honest I really wish Lego would not do this sort of thing. I find it annoying and it just screams for scalpers to pick over the product. I rank it right up with Con exclusives. When you look at how many lego collectors there are adult and child, exclusives that are super hard to get are just a slap in the loyal customers face. It sickens me to see how much Mr. Gold fetches on ebay in most cases as much as 25,000% profit (based off 2.99 cost.)- 1,076 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion

The box packout seems odd this time around. My dad picked up 38 packs for me and out of those I ended up short 3 minifigures (grandpa, Medusa, Librarian. I had over 6 Roman soliders and 6 Bikers. I go to my closest target and they had the 120 case. They pulled it fresh from the back I spent an hour feeling up packages and completed my set. Out of 120 though there were only 2 Medusa figures. This past Saturday I went to 2 targets and 1 toys r us. At the first target they had the 120 pack but it was picked through and only about 16 left. I felt them and found no Mr. Gold. I go to the 2nd target and they had 2 120 pack cases out. Since I was only look for Mr. Gold I was able to go through them in less than a hour. I felt through the first box and no Mr. Gold. I down to the 12th pocket on the box and thought I was imaging things but I found a Mr. Gold. I felt the rest just to see what they were. I checked TRU which had about 18 packs and found nothing special. I am totally shocked that I found a Mr. Gold. Now I feel my set is complete.- 1,076 replies

That sucks I would rather buy from Game Stop. There is a chance I could have gotten 2. I guess I could pre order multiple from Walmart and maybe return the game. I just want 2 so I can open one and keep one poly bag sealed.

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
h-7 replied to Piranha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I found a box at a Toys R us in Louisiana. I found 14 then had them check the back to see if they had an unopened box. Luckily they did so I was able to find the other 2 needed. I feel proud I had 100% accuracy. -
Yes I agree I spent a bit much for the mini figure. Its unfortunate that supply and demand dictated such a high price for the figure. However this is a figure I really wanted and I do not want to miss out on one. I originally set a price to spend at about 75.00 but obviously that was not going to happen. I do not feel I over paid as I have seen Bizarro sell for much more then 132.50. I do however take issue with the sellers lack of an accurate picture. The seller was willing to take it back for a full refund after he "inspected it" when he said that it made me kinda worry that just sending it back for a refund might be more difficult than necessary. I opted to keep the figure with a refund of 32.50 which put the cost at an even 100.00. I feel at that price I believe I could flip it and recover all cost even with me pointing out the marks. I on fbtb.net I noticed the pictures they posted had face print issues on the sad looking face. Even with the flaw I am just happy to have one and content to not have to keep watching auctions to get one. Thank you all for your input.
-
This is a real Bizarro. I only paid 132.50 so kinda average price. The seller while not overly difficult to deal with just does not want to come down much. I called Lego and was told since this was not mass produced. There are no replacement parts for it. So thats out. Its either keep or send it back and try again. I am kinda leaning to sending it back and try again. I like the angry face more then the sad face and the missing tooth kinda bugs me. Especially since the pictured item was perfect looking.

So I bit the bullet and bought a SDCC Bizarro on ebay. I paid 132.50....way more then I wanted but I really wanted the mini figure. The seller had 2 of the Bizarro's and only took a picture of one and used the same picture for both auctions. Well the picture posted to the auction Bizarro looks fine...however thats not what I received. This is the sellers picture. The problem is with the face printing. There is a spot missing under the right eyebrow and on the lower right side of the mouth. The defects are not present in the sellers picture which is why I actually bid on it. I am trying to work it out with the seller. The seller is offering a discount, unfortunately I have no clue how much of a discount is fair. Any suggestions? It kinda bugs me, especially the mouth. Thanks.

I think they reject projects more due to the cost of license. It could be the cost of the license will exceed expected purchase. Say the "Shaun of the Dead" license is 3 mil.... The Winchester set would retail for 199.00. There are 10,000 likes with the project so saying if all 10,000 of those people bought it for the 199.00 price they would only return 1,990,000. That kinda comes up short in the profit range. You also have to deduct cost of production as well.

I am kinda disappointed in the DC offering. I really expected to see some new mini figures. I want Manbat, Green Lantern, Flash, Cyborg, Clayface to name a few. I really do not need a 3rd Ivy. While a Joker is always welcomed I have 2 and would not mind waiting for the 3rd. I really do not think Penguin or Scarecrow needed updating either. The Marvel mini figures are a nice surprise. I wanna see more Avenger or X-men related figures though.
-
Actually they do come from his back. I noticed this while paying Lego Batman 2. Manbat has actually become one of my favorite characters in the game. The wings are on his back and it also forms a tail like piece.
-
Err, and now it begins..... I hope no one pays that much for one of these mini figures. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-Shazam-minifigure-mini-fig-San-Diego-comic-con-2012-dc-exclusive-/360473043938?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53edde23e2

So you like paying 100.00+ for a minifigure? I do not. These are characters that are part of marvel and dc history. They appeal to lego collectors and comic collectors. They should not be exclusive to a con and never appear in a set. From a business stand point it makes no sense to limit these to 1000 and give them away, when you could shove them in a polybag, put them on your website with x amount purchase required or put them in a set. I realize this is to drive interest to the lego panel's but to never include these in a set is ridiculous. I would love a shazam mini figure but at 100.00+ for something someone paid nothing for....I dont think so. Thats not to say it has no value. Hopefully these make it to a set even if they have to make some change to the minifigure so they can keep the other exclusive.

I waited late to order the game. I went Saturday and one Gamestop said I could order it but I would not get the mini figure. So I went to another and they let me pre order and get the figure. They actually had the figure in stock so I got one Saturday. My father went to pick the game up for me today and to my surprise they gave him a mini figure with the game too. I ended up with 2. Now I can open one....yay!

What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars minifigures?
h-7 replied to Darthking623's topic in LEGO Star Wars
My favorites are Kashyyyk Trooper, Shadow Arf Trooper, and Kit Fisto -
Hulk misses purple pants There has to be a set of purple legs to put on him. The tan pants look good just not classic enough for me. It pairs well with the larger figure though.

agh, after I make my orders lego puts the monster hunter stuff on the site.

I found Series 7 at 2 different Toys R Us stores. Saturday the TRU I normally visit had about a box and a half. I picked out all the figures I really wanted plus a few extra for a friend. I completely planned on completing the set I just did not want to stand there and pick them all out that day. I got home and realized I actually picked out 11 of 16. So Sunday I went to another TRU. They did not have the box out with the rest of the lego's. I asked and was told to go to customer service. They had about half a box at the customer service desk. I went through it and while doing so a girl who worked there asked who I was looking for. I told her and she pulled out another unopened box and started going through it looking for the 3 remaining figures. I really love this series. The Bagpiper is by far my favorite. I also like the Bunny and Grandma Visitor.

Most of what I bought over the weekend was not on sale. But it was a very lego weekend. Saturday went to Toys R Us and they had about a box and a half of CMF Series 7. I picked out all the ones I really wanted plus a few extra's for a friend 17 total. I also picked up the Star Wars Advent Calender 2011 for 19.99. Went over to Walmart next door and they had 2 Police station 7498 marked down to 49.00. At that price I could not resist so I bought one. Sunday after realizing I had bought 11 of the 16 minifigures I went to another Toys R Us but could not find CMF Series 7. I ended up asking a clerk if they had them and was directed to customer service where they had about half a box. I oddly I only found 2 of the 3 I needed. A girl who works there asked who I was looking for and I told her and that they were not in the box. She pulled out an unopened box and started to help me find the Bride, Viking and Swimmer. I also went ahead and bought Deadpoo'ls Helicopter.

No I kept the modulars. The once I called the 2nd time and verified my information customer service processed the order. I ended up making 3 orders in the last 4 days. I have really no idea what happened with the customer service review. But they told me the same, it seems random. But all worked out no big deal. Luckily with about an hour to spare with the double vip points the 999 points from the 3 modulars showed up and I was able to order the Fire Brigade and get double points on it as well as 60.00 off of it. I was trying hard not to get into the modulars but all the reviews and discussions on this forum just made me cave. I really admire the level of detail that they include in them. Sadly I missed the cafe corner and green grocer and they are just way to expensive now. If anything I can always consider this an investment. I never normally consider toys as investments but lego seem to hold their value and appreciate. I would love to see a Police station to compliment the Fire Brigade. I am also getting my orders really quickly. My order shipped on the 14th and was delivered today. I hope the order with the modulars comes as quickly. Although it probably helps that I am in Louisiana and they are shipping from Mississippi.

I placed the order right when the free shipping went live 12am Monday. The order status was customer service and I called late Monday afternoon and was told that it might be a security check and Lego would call if they needed anything. They said that it could have been because the value or the different billing/shipping address (billing is home address, shipping is my business since no one is home) But that it should be fine after 24 hours, so I waited. I called Tuesday afternoon since it had been over 24 hours and just had to confirm billing address, shipping address, and last 4 digits of credit card. I don't think its the credit card, I have never had an issue with it and I have made larger purchases at one time. I also never received a call from my credit card company either. I think it was just a hold up at Lego's end. Its all processed now and shipped. I am not complaining. I actually have nothing but good dealings with lego customer service. Everytime I have called to order over the phone or have a questions its been easy to deal with. I had a few issues finally getting my vip card number but that was worked out after a phone call. It just took longer than I was hoping. I planed to buy that Monday then after the vip showed up buy the Fire Brigade and still get double points on it. Not that big a deal, I think I am going to have enough lego to last me a few weeks I am just newly back into lego's...the last set I bought was the starwars pod racer for the phantom menace. I just started back late January. Its a bad addiction but fun at the same time.

I just ordered the Town Hall, Pet Shop and Grand Emporium. My plan was to order them get 999vip points put that with the 149 I already had and get the Fire Brigade 55.00 off. However since S@H decided that 499.97 should have a security check its taken longer to process the order. I got impatient and ordered Batman Twoface 6864, Lego truck 3221, 7280 and 7281 road plates and used 100vip points on that order. I did get 219 more points to bring the total up to 1267 so I still plan to get the Fire Brigade just now with 60.00 worth of vip points. I hope my vip points update before the double points ends.

Last week I lucked up at found 2 at TRU....however their system has 2 different prices. The shelf tag said 44.99, but when you checked the price on an isle scanner it said 49.99. This was during the spend 50.00 get 10.00 off so the scanner actually read 49.99 today 39.99. When I took them to the checkout they rang up 44.99. I took the lady back to the scanner and showed her that it came up as 39.99 so she let me have them for that price.
