Bionicle 2009 Images and Discussion
Makuta'sdarkslave replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Wow, it's been a while since I've posted. I've got to get back into the groove. *cracks knuckles* Here we go. As I mentioned to someone (who corrected me in his own words) "It's a great time to be a Bionicle nerd.". This is because of all the great stuff we're getting. Now I'm, for some reason, REALLY optimistic considering how bad my day's been. Getting on topic, these sets look AMAZING. I did a little bit of research earlier with my currently mask-less Vultraz set and realized that the Gla-toran's heads could in fact be Av-toran heads, turned. As someone pointed out, the holes do appear to be on the top of the heads in most of the sets, and I also agree that they look like flip-masks in some cases. I very much agree. I was looking real hard at that picture of the Toa standing on the beach. He sure does look like Matoro, and I don't see an Ignika on his face, but I'm blind basically, so don't bite my head off if I'm wrong. And I probably am. I love the sets, I must say. The thornax fruit, as my friend pointed out yesterday, is like the word "thorax", so it could be derived from there. I'm glad that the launchers and the ammo changed from Zamor Launchers. It would've been nearly to launch THOSE pieces from the Zamors. What with the spikes and all. I'm quite pleased with these sets, if I may say so. I like the new designs, the weapons, the masks and everything. I'm quite interested in these life counters. Whatever they are, they seem to be very interesting. I saw a video before we had quality pictures of a guy making a guess as to what was up in the corner, and there was writing at the bottom of the canisters, so he was trying to guess what was in them. Well, now he doesn't have to. =D As my friend and I were discussing, now we need to see the backs of the canisters. X3 Anyways, I need to get some sleep, because my current depression is aggravating and I have a serious headache. Bleh. xP Anyways, these sets are amazing, can't wait to get them. Glatorians FTW! -

Okay, I've been meaning to post on this thread for some time, but I totally keep forgetting, so here I am. These sets look pretty cool, but I'm a little disappointed on some levels. Gresh looks pretty cool in the pictures we got from the catalouge. I especially liked the extra claws on his upper torso/chest. He's completely lost those, apparently, so it's very sad. This whole thing that people were talking about with the small sets being good and bad: I doubt we'll really know for sure until the actual sets, or at least some information about them is released. Someone told me they had information on the fact that Skrall is a female, but this was a little confusing to me. I asked them where they got the information but they never replied. On a side note, BS01 isn't loading for me. Anyone else got this problem? It's been like this for the past couple days on my computer and it's really pissing me off because I need to check up on something. ~Makuta'sdarkslave -

There's a 2009 thread?? I guess I missed the memo. Sorry 'bout that. Man, I guess you guys shot me down. But you didn't just shoot me down, you shot down my entire squadron, sunk my entire fleet, and blew up my entire platoon, that's what you guys did right there, I'll tell you what. Sorry. -

What do you mean "are their oranges the same"? That confuses me. I really like these new canister sets. But in truth, the only one that looks like a "good guy" to me, is the blue and gold one. Well, in the case of the big sets. The small ones, blue, white and maybe black or red look good. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. ....Aw man, I was gonna say something else, but I forgot... OH YEAH! Now I remember. The white canister set, it's head looks almost exactly like one of the monsters in that Tim Burton movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas (I watched that movie for the first time in a long time yesterday, not half bad). Which, to me, seems kind of strange. Also, I was looking at the small brown (YES, BROWN IS BACK!) set, and noticed it's similarity to the lion thingy that attacked Padme in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones which also seems a little fishy. I have to admit, I like the hands. They look pretty cool, and I guess they work some more. You just can't use the joints (used for hands) for any other purpose now is all. They seem pretty cool, as I said before. I especially like the new Titans. The green one looks like he's wearing the Mask of Shadows, but you never know. One more thing, and someone else probably already knows this, but I was thinking, the fourth Bionicle movie WON'T be taking place in the Bionicle Universe. I look at it another way, after my research on BS01, and think "The Red Star". It's not in the Bionicle Universe, and apparently some "strange beings" live inside of it. Put 2 and 2 together, and I think the Glatorians are the things living inside the Red Star, and that's where the next movie will take place. -

Man, those are some wacky prototypes if I ever seen any Anyways. I've been meaning to do some reviews on the Mistika sets, but unfortunately, I started to get into MoC-ing with them, so now I have to put them together again to review... right after I finish taking pictures of my MoC and send it to my friend, he needed something new. ~Makuta'sdarkslave -

Well, I finally ordered the Mistika sets, and they will be here on Tuesday. I'm hoping to do a hands-on review, and of course use them to create another retarded Youtube series. My first one was "Phantoka Gatherings" and was very stupid on it's own. Sorry, I got a little off-topic there. Anyways, for some reason, and you could try to tell me, but I want to wear Krika on my shoulder, Bitil on my head and IDK where Gorast should be yet. I scare myself sometimes. Uuuh, to choose who's better. I won't really know until I get them, so I'll wait for now. 5 days isn't so long... well it is if you anticipate it too much. -

Yeah. I want to apologfor all my "cussing like a sailor". Its true, I was having a bda day and thought it make my post seem like I was pissed... which I was. Anyways, the disc drive is all messed up (after we finally figured out how to work the thing with screwing up the internet), so I don't know what to do. It makes me kinda sad how nothing is going my way lately. Yes, but it's weird because apparently the sets were not re-called anywhere else except from the store that had them (I have contacts outside my state, just in case they spot early sets), so I don't know what's going on there. Weird. -

Aaaah, man. No one has the Mistika anymore. The store that I went to that had them last week or whatever, apparently told me they were re-called. I told them to.... well I don't want to discuss that here. Point is, I got so pissed, I made a deal with my mother (unfortunately) so she can buy the Mistika (goddamn credit cards!). But then another problem arose. The security program had to be re-newed, so we got the disc and uploaded it, then it screwed up the internet, so we took it off and don't have any security protection, and she's too afraid to give away any personal information now (URGH!). But I will be getting them soon, hopefully. ~Makutasdarkslave -

DAMN! I was so close, I almost got two of the Mistika sets today, unfortuntely, I came up about $14 short.... not even enough for one. Damn my generosity, I gave too much money away as a loan yesterday (gas prices and all that) and thus, came up short. I could've sworn I had $8 dollars more this morning though. Weird. Anyways, Just thought I'd let you know how close I was. -

In reply to the reply of my reply earlier ( ) uum, why is it so bad? Well to tell the truth, I was thinking selfishly and it was in the morning, and to tell the truth, I'm not a morning person. Anyways, I forgot about all the MoC-ists out there. I don't think about them too mcuh because... well I'm not too much of one. My friend is however, but he can make anything out of... anything pretty much, though they usually end up being a mis-match of pieces and caolors, but that's not really importnat. Someone mentioned that its a good thing you have to build the Ghost Blaster. Or was it the easy part that was good? Anyways, it's still bad that you have to build it, unless you need two medium rods, but anyways. Sorry. -

Man, that pic IS awesome. I saved it so can oggle at it for a while, it's amazing. I notice you have to build the rotating blade t hing. I thought it was one piece. That sucks. I don't know if any one noticed, but all the Mistika Toa Masks have that thing that Ignika and Maxilos had, you put the rod in the mask and put it on the head. Blah. The Mistika Makuta have odd heads IMO, I mean, joints with eyes? What is that? Gorast has a joint with Bohrok eyes on either side and the Mask over it. Krika has a joint with Barraki eyes on it and the Mask over it. Bitil's is probabbly the strangest with the Vahki head, his mask and then the eyes. The new site looks pretty cool IMO as well. The video is interesting, the ends of Krika's blades are shown to be like claws, but that's just the CGI right? I thought Gorast's mask went farther back on her head? Maybe I was looking at the original pictures wrong? IDK. I also can't believe you have to build the Ghost Blaster either. And the build for it is too simple. I saw the instructions for all six. They all have some fairly unique builds, which is pretty cool. I still wish the piece on Gali's mask could flip down. I talk too much, I know. ~Makuta'sdarkslave -

Thanks for the pics. Those MoCs were retty interesting, to say the least. I'm currently busy cussing out the stores in my local area, because I've been calling every 2 days for the past week, trying to find them, in fact, yesterday I went out on a limb and asked the stores down in Seattle. Nothin doin. I need to kill someone, cause I have too many jittery feelings about these, or what I should say is I still can't wait to get my hands on 'em no matter what. I choose what I want, and I want all 6 of 'em. TRU? Damn, out TRU was mauled over to make room for some kind of clothing store of some crap. And the closest one is down is Seattle, over an hour and a half drive from here. Must. Kill. Shipping. Companies. -

All right, I'm not gonna ask about the 2009 stuff, cause as was said, it's not totally confirmed, and we still dont know, I mean, Glatorians could be anythig, but whatever. What I'm really wanting to ask about is: Can anyone prove to me the unofficial release of the Mistika? Like pictures, cause I know a lot of people are goin into to BZP and saying that they saw them, I get some contact information on those guys, some tell me they were lying, some say they were telling the truth, and SOME tell me to mind my own business. But can anyone prove these reports? I can't find any pictures online (probably cause my computer sucks and wont update the search engines), so if you could, y'know send 'em to me, or post 'em here, that'd be great. And since that messed up Krika picture picture was posted earlier, that got my hopes up. Thanks ~Makuta'sdarkslave -

First of all, pretty mcuch every set we get (and have been getting) are mostly just a mixmatch of pieces, and thus, they are pretty mcuh the same, I agree, but (somehow) have their own individuality. Pohatu Nuva? Seriously? He had, what, 3 new pieces, and some orange? Sheesh. I noticed someone else said that it was a "great way to end the year" or something (sarcastic on their part), but you know, there ARE a few more years left in the Bionicle line. Who knows what could happen? Maybe it'll be the same as the past years, just a "mishmash" of pieces, or maybe something a lot better. WE. WILL. NEVER. KNOW. UNITL. THEY. COME. OUT. Gawd. -

For some reason, the more I like the Mistika, the more I think I should hate them, *shrugs*. I agree with some people. You are all arguing about whether it's good or bad. Here's an idea, wait for the actual sets to come out. Who knows. Most, if not all of you, have not seen them up close, held them, tried them out, you don't know, pictures just never work for Bionicles. On a side note, and I don't know why I'm saying it, but I'm gonna buy all the Mistika in groups, instead of buying them all at once, and wasting money. I will buy 2 or 3 at a time, most likely in the same order I bought the Phantoka in (yellow/orange and black, red and white, blue and green). Yeah, I guess I just had to get that out. -

I definitely have to agree with you there, BZP can be pretty stupid sometimes. And yet, strangely, I go there every day. Odd. Anyways, you're right. crushing the leak is better just to pretend you're letting it alone, but in truth, you can hunt it down and try to eliminate as many possible one's you can without letting anyone know about it. I'm starting to get that feeling too, in fact, I had it from the beginning. Who leaks videos, anyways? It was a weird, retarded video, and they even messed up in a lot of places, ex. they switched Pohatu's and Onua's powers. But yes, this vid is definitely haunted.... no there's just something wrong with it. But I doubt that we'll ever hear anything else about it in the near future from TLC. *shrugs* -

Ok, first of all, I think Mata Nui stuff is currently bogus. If I were you, I'd just forget about putting up ideas that may not even be real and think about putting it all onto paper to support yourself, so you can gather ideas as more information is relased. That body, my opinion isn't quite set. I mean, the Toa Nuva ARE currently working on waking him up, ne? Maybe that was a scene of the pre-product move. i don't know. Second, many of you have critised my last post. I appreciate everything you have said. Let me make myself clear, sonce I was just rambling then. 1.) When I said "Greg is in on it" I meant he's part of the story team and the developers and crap, so he'd be part of whatever happened. 2.) I noticed someone said something about the Val being dumb in 03. I say people didn't buy it, because it was just shinier versions of the Bohrok, and thus not many people bought them. 3.) Miserix's reptillian form technically IS original and no one asked for a humanoid, however a humanoid would make more sense story-line wise. I know Greg said in MC that he likes to turn into them, but I mean, what is the FoF team gonna see him as? The dragon or the bipedial form that people (not just me) kinda thought of him being. Sorry for the inconvinience. BTW, that video, I didnt really like it, no. EXPRESSION IS OK! -

Makuta'sdarkslave replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Action Figures
TLC didnt make that, it was a girl named Sarah Newkick You think I don't know that? I know and I think that TLC should have looked harder on this, I mean, I definitely agree with that other post on the should-be winner of the Miserix model, it's more HUMANOID. Somebody said that the Makuta are shapeshifters and that this could work, well what the HELL are we supposed to be getting, I mean, we want something more... Oh, I don't know, worthwhile? A lizard: sure MC said that he liked turning into reptillian creatures, but what about what he REALLy looks like? When we first got MoMN he looked very humanoid and over-all good, probably his original form, we want ORIGINAL FORMS! The Phantoka and Mistika are different, the storyline, right? But Miserix hasn't exactly left Artidax in a LONG time, so he should like his original self, not THIS. And as some of you have pointed out, the Bionicle universe has... to put it lightly, been going downhill for the past few years. The original Tohunga... err... I didn't really get them, so I couldn't enjoy the disks, and the Mata only moved their arm(s) and one's leg. Then we got better funtionality, the Bohrok and the Va, more stuff to work with, then of course the Nuva and the Kal, each shinier and SEEMED more interesting. Then we got the Metru. So much better, I thought. The disks were AMAZING at the time, since I never really got the Mc-Toran as they could be called. I liked that. FUNTIONALITY. Weapons at the time were in my interests. Then we got the Hordika and Visorak. Glorious, glorious Visorak (If you haven't realized by now, I'm just rambling about). Again, WEAPONS. And then the Piraka. I got the box, I knew about the launchers and I thought to myself "Oh, cool, a new more functional weapon." and of course, the Inika. Same deal. But we finally come to the Barraki and storyline that's been going on. Where the HELL were my favorite heroes, and what the HELL was the storyline doing? I mean, first we had a tropical Island with some bugs and ferocious animals. Okay. Then we had an industrial city place with crazy robots. And then we had a freaky ugly teeny, tiny island with monsters on it, finally we went UNDERWATER? And in a place that was once connected to Voya Nui? What happened to the trees and stuff? And we never get to see inside of it! And under the water are FEROCIOUS SEA MONSTERS! WITH ODD LAUNCHERS! The launchers were bad enough then, but when we got the Mahri.... I only bought them because I wanted to further my collection... and I promised I'd get them. I mean, in 06 I found out the Nuva were coming back into the picture... as hopeless nit-wits compared to the Piraka, probably the most mentally retarded characters we ever had. So the Nuva are hopeless, and the Inika are underwater...? All logic was gone. We were told that 06 would be like 01.... the only thing that was even CLOSE was the fact that it was a small "tropical" island. And the weapons got more and more dangerous. First it was just disks that hit things and had different powers, nothing that could kill, then we had some other weapons that each had a different power and creatures were being brutally mutated. And then more mutation, but only to enlave or to fix. Next we had something that could kill you by sucking the life out of you. FINALLY we had explosive rocket launchers. This year.... well you already know... My point is, functionality and originality.... and what we really shoul have are all just bogus things that TLC thinks they have for us. I mean, the squid launcher and the Cordak blaster, how hard were those, eh? They think their giving us what we want, but they're WRONG! And Greg's in on it. We had a nice little storyline in 01... now we have evil monsters jumping around, enslaving and killing. What happened to the good ol' days when TLC was run by good, kind, thoughtful people who had very good ideas when it came to MoC contests? I know some of you don't agree withy me on originality and all the above, but I am freely expressing myself as I know I can here. -

Okay, well, my software sucks, but i checked out that picture of that piece-of-crap rahi thing causing a whole bunch of fuss, and found that around hit's back, or the lower neck, is a Metru head w/ green eyes, i see it has 4 pairs of those Gorast claws used by Thau and Bitil as armor, and some Phantoka Wings. I see the Mistika rocket boosters, and what appers to be some kind of mask holding up the claw on the front. The torso appears to be an Inika back. The pic is really blurry, but it's all i got. -

Okay, thank y. I know I'm so bothersome. But those were awesome... well some of them. The unknown mask, I originally thought it to be a very early Avsa prototype, but now I read the stuff and think it might be a Nuva mask becasue of the jet air intakes on the sides. They should've stuck with the prototype Kopaka adn Pohatu in my opinion, they look WAY better than the current ones. -

Okay... My new reviews are in... You kir all gonna be pretty optimistic right? Good. Tahu: Okay... I LIKE IT! He seems to have less armor than I want, but if it works, I'll just trun the torso around (I do that when I don't like the pieces the was they are, ex. Rahkshi leg for arms, when they are upside down and empty, TURN 'EM AROUND!) The mask seems like a cross between a new Knight's Kingdom Head and a ninja mask, still kinda resembles the original one, though. Gali: Oooh, so shiny... in this... picture, yeah. Anyways, the "ears" look okay, kinda like aero-dynamic wings or somthing... fins maybe... For the torso, I'm gonna say the sme thing for Tahu... I'll proably turn it around. Scope/Crosshairs are nice, not like the preliminary messed up Toyfair pictures. She needs to hlod the Blaster with both hands. Kinda sucks that she doesn't have any other weaons. V.V All in all, she's nice. Onua: IT'S A MORE ANGULAR, LESS KRAHKAAN-RESEMBLING MASK! OMG! Sorry, but it's true, ne? A new fron torso piece, and an extra piece on top of the Blaster, which has a laser-thingy on it, and stuff. Those red things on his legs, yeah, it's not ammo, it's umm... It's jet booster thing-a-ma-bobs. He has a shield and wings or fins or something. Not bad, not bad AT ALL. Bitil: I thohgt those "nipples" were normal studs, but now I can see they are those umm... rods-with-tiny-studs-on-the-end. Double-jointed neck, not too bad there, but in my opinion, he is STILL a yellow Takadox, and will never be anything else. Those wings are pretty cool, but seem to heavy and wide. Gorast: BAH! She looks kinda creepy like that... and ugly, but I think it's not bad. What kind of armor is on the other side of that upside-down torso? Nothing. For shame. Sharp claws. The needls mouth seems to have been moved BELOW the space. Krika: this makes him seem... taller. Creepy, but awesome... Don't like the extra limb for the blaster, makes him look like a... filthy vagina... Takanuva: HIS MASK LOOKS... LIKE... SHIT!!!! I don't like it, nor do I like what you guys (or girls) have been pointing out. Blech. Rockoh T3: Pohatu went through a change, now he is TALLER, AND THINNER which is good. The T3 can trap stuff in an energy field, so that's okay. Jetrax T6: Whether it be Antroz, or the more Tahu-resembling being, he is odd. Axalara T9: well... It's like a stealth plane... and I LOVE fighter jets. It shoots lasers, has "tri-arms" and yeah... =_= anyways. 'Nuff said, I guess. Nynrah: It's hard to tell too much about it, the Toa's colors are more gunmetal based, or black, the Makuta's are a weird green. I guess we'll have to wait until we get more info on them, ne? P.S. I just finished construction on my 100% gunmetal dude, so... Yeah. He's awesome and will be appearing in the story I'm writing. -
