Clever mechanism! And the rest of the MOC is cool too. I like the fireplace and the melted snow around it! :D Great job!

It is also possible that the minifig is a male. I can see legs in the picture of the tan fig, no skirt. Now of course women wear pants too, but in HP Lego they mostly wear skirts (mcgonnagal, bellatrix, trelawney). However, cannot think of a male with such a hat really...

Nice entry! I like the roof, and the chairs. I think it's the first entry nót in minifig scale. And also good photographing, with the light and background!

I just wanted to open a topic about this. My question is if it is possible to remove hands from belville and technic figures? From above posts it seems that it indeed is possible. If so, what kind of pin is there on the 'arm side' (the wrist let's say)? And secondly, what pieces can the hand/the fingers hold? A bar? Or a round 1x1 brick? I really want to know, and bricklink doesn't show inventories of belville figures. Thanks in advance!

Good work Matn! As a Potter fan I like it how you keep so true to the books, and you did it again here! Good luck in the comp.

This is outstanding! It's so big, and detailed. The colors fit great! And the overall design is amazing. Most likely a winner if I'd choose! (no joke)

It's amazing! It looks wonderful from the outside and inside alike. At it's so playable! LEGO should use such layout for a WWW set! :D

Lol! Or "You still haven't read Hogwarts: A History?!" By the way, Harry Potter Wiki uses the movies and games as canon sources. In the movie there is a statue of the 'architect of Hogwarts'. However, no mention of such person is made in the books. Okay, back to topic.

Professor ERCWLFF LEIGHTON WILBERT SCAMANDER Order of Merlin, Second Class Commonly known as: Prof. Hercule Scamander Famous Magizoologist and professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (Born 1928) The Scamander family is famous for its contribution to Magizoology of the Wizarding World. Hercule's grandmother having bred Hippogriffs, and being the son of famous Newton Scamander, author of "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them" (Obscurus Books 1927), Hercule Scamander followed in their footsteps. After graduating from Hogwarts Hercule travelled across the globe to experience different kinds of magic, and to encounter unknown magical creatures. Having met no less than 13 different species on this first journey, one of them being the Antipodean Opaleye in New Zealand, Scamander decided to make this his profession. In the following 20 years Scamander discovered another 117 magical creatures. In the '60s Scamander decided to stop travelling and became Proffssor Care of Magical Creatures at Hogwarts. He was known to be a strict teacher, but also very passionate about his profession. The school was very content with him as professor, but after less than a decade of service at Hogwarts Hercule Scamander made place for his successor, Silvanus Kettleburn. Professor Hercule Scamander outside of Hogwarts castle, in front of a class. Next to him today's subject creature. A close-up on prof. Scamander. His strict face shows no weakness. "Today's creature, boys and girls, will be the Levitating Dog. Please all stand up." "I shouldn't have said that. This dog obeys me somewhat too good..." "End of class, students! See you tommorrow! NO PHOTO'S!" "Now, boys and girls. I lost my dog, but I want YOUR vote! Vote for Hercule Scamander! Now I'll try to find my dog..." Thanks for this comp! Jan/Mr.Brick!

It's massive! Amazing how you could make this build within the piece limit. I personally imagined Shell Cottage to be more a little cottage, so smaller than this. But nevertheless I like this building!

Rest in peace, Dieter. You left the world too soon, but our memories of you will remain here forever.

Well, with this I agree with you. TazManiac (now talking to others) attended the person very gentily on it's (possible) rule-break. And he even turned out to be right! When the rules don't allow us to have overlap outside of the vignette, even if it's very little, (something with which I agree by the way) I think it's not less than reasonable that TazManiac doesn't get 'treated' the way he's now... Anyway, back to building now, I think! EDIT: To not doublepost: I absolutely love Skalldyr's and Ingrimm's entries! They're amazing, but the others definitely too! Matns techniques for the Seeker are pretty original! (the legs, arms, perspective, etc.!) And so on! :)

I think your changes worked out very well!

I'm not really an expert on batman to be honoust, but the tumbler looks very cool! detailed and true to the original model! keep up the good work!

I agree completely! :D

This looks very good! (Even) Better that the Three Broomsticks. I like the angled door a lot! Original ideas in a MOC are a great plus! I don't know if you're still going to adjust it here and there, but when I comment I always (most of the time) give constructive criticism. If I may suggest, I would do the following two things: - move the upper (tan) walls one stud more to the front, so that the walls under and above are in the same line. I know you probably build it this way on purpose, so feel free to leave it that way. I just think that it would look cool if the angled door would be overlapped by the upper walls. - let the roof-bricks stick out one stud to the front. It often looks good. I hope you don't feel offended by these tips! I really like your creation and it is also great the way it's now! Good luck in the comp! greets, Jan / Mr.Brick

Winter Break: Slug & Jiggers Apothecary
Mr.Brick replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I love this building! Especially the stairs are truly amazing. That looks so much better that the standard brick-spiral-staircase! All the other details are nice too. Do I see a unicorn horn? :D One thing, which isn't really important but... I think the MOC would look even better if you'd use a more uniform set of colors. Because now whe have green, light bley, brown, black, white, dark bley and tan (for floor) as main colors. However, I don't see an easy way to change it in this building, and I think you should let this one as it is! Good luck in the competition. I think you also make high chances. -
The URL's for your pictures are actually NOT the direct links to the image. They are URL's to the page with your picture. You can see this when there is a '/' at the end of the URL. Be sure to copy the direct link (which ends on .jpg or similar) of the picture.

That colour is amazing for a roof! Great idea! It so detailed, but large at the same time! Great MOC!
-
Wow! Really amazing. This is one of the best entries so far! Unfortunately no interior, but for the 1000 brick limit very big!
-
Good work! Detailed and big! I like it.
-
Wow, that's really cool! Really detailed and finished off well. Alhough I personally do not imagine Privet Drive as this, it looks good anyway. I like the TV antenna and rainwater pipe/drain.
-
At the moment I don't see any pictures... Did you forget them? Anyway, I was thinking about #4 Privet Drive too. Curious what you made of it! ;) EDIT: I only read now that you're resizing them. Sorry!

I love both entries until now. TazManiac's fig is really dynamic and fits well in it's vignette. But I think the 'serious' (stiff) pose of Geertos' entry is very well for the character. It looks like a photo of someone in his study, like you see more often taken after interviews or in biographies. Great work both!
