Is anyone else really happy that Onua is clearly the strongman of the group? As a kid I always assumed that Onua and Pohatu were equally strong, but one was all about upper-body strength and the other about lower. I was never a fan of that Greg-ism that Pohatu was the strong one, and Onua was just a regular-strength Toa with a Pakari. Seemed really unintuitive.

I haven't really paid much attention to the Defenders, but yeah. I meant the Toa. I couldn't stand those bulky projectile weapons toward the end of Bionicle's first run.

I imagine everyone already noticed this ages ago, but somehow it just occurred to me—is anybody else shocked that there are no projectiles? I hope that this is a trend in later waves.

They're likely to use the same themes and ideas, but there is the question of volume. 2001 introduced an insane amount of worldbuilding, and it's easy to see them going for a less fully-realized world. Probably no Hoi Turtles this time around.

Fun fact: "Okoto" is the name of the giant boar in Princess Mononoke:

Also, I'm looking for a good face for this character. I have the rest of his body worked out, but I can't find a head that has glasses, a mustache, and an idiotic look.

I decided on a whim today that I'm going to make minifigures based on characters from movies that my friends and I make. I'm a little stuck on this character, though, played by me: I'll be using Uncle Vernon's head and hair, but I can't find any torsos on Bricklink that suit him. This isn't really a town-specific request, but as you're the board that's most devoted to normal, realistic minifigures, I figured I'd ask if you had any good torso suggestions.

If this staff ever comes out in red, we might finally have a weapon for the Ta-Koro Guard.

I love old-timey LEGO cars, so I'm disappointed that the only two in this line come in bigger sets that don't interest me much. I hope I'll get more luck with the second wave. The biplane is nice, though.

Help with identifying parts/sets!
Wrinkledlion X replied to WhiteFang's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Check this third picture out. It claims to have been built entirely from the 10210 Imperial Flagship set, but after looking through the Bricklink parts-list and a number of set photos, I can't identify those giant Gali claw-looking things on the front. Can anyone identify them? -
The orange guy looks like he's wearing a disgruntled Miru.

Why are we whining about a dead toyline that no one's reading anymore? Jesus Christ, give it a rest.

I think this is the first time in a few years that we've heard those motor sound effects coming from the characters.
-
It's an awesome picture, and I'm happy to see the airships again... But why are the latest updates all out of order?
-
It would probably need (at least internal) gravity control just to keep its machinery from collapsing in on itself due to its immense weight. Also, we wouldn't really need ground conflict if the Agori went into the prototype robot... Makuta could easily send his minions into Mata Nui's domes. It would raise the stakes, too, as the heroic Stars would have to protect Mata Nui's spirit from the evil Stars from the inside.
-
Awesome chapter, but I still wonder why Greg chose not to give the Prototype robot domes and nanotech. It would be so much easier for the Agori to just enter Mata Nui's body and work in it like Matoran... They'd be better protected, and there'd be no need for an inadequately explained energy source.

I'm actually happy he finished all those loose story threads up, even if it's pretty sloppy... The new serials will have less baggage now.
-
Reminded me a bit of the 2008 serials at times... Which makes sense, given that Greg is trying to resolve a ton of excess plotlines that started in that year. I applaud him for trying to wrap them all up, though honestly I barely remember many of them. I had completely forgotten about the Virus subplot, and everything about TSO's status. Also, Kapura should've teleported on his own. He don't need no stinkin' Vezons.

The scale is as off as ever, but that is an awesome picture.

Nice to see the MU again.

EDIT: Just saw the latest MN Saga update. Awesome picture, but so incredibly, incredibly out of scale.

So, I got the comic yesterday. It was really rushed, but I think Greg did a good job, all things considered. Nice illustrations, too, even if the scale was off. EDIT: Just read Chapter 3. That was AWESOME. Very ominous.
