Last year i started out with the Grand Emporium as my first modular, through the year i bought the other modular sets except the Market Street. Something about that set i don't like. Maybe im anal but to me it doesn't look right with the other modulars.

Oh man did i miss out! Well maybe in the future they could sell something similar in a complete set. They are so popular now i don't see how it wouldn't be profitable. Maybe make it a limited production?

Hello everybody. I'm obviously new here, just found the site about a month ago. How does everybody use their VIP rewards? Save them or redeem them? I have a habit of just saving them up. My girlfriend always asks me why i don't redeem them. I guess im just saving up so one day my trip to the LEGO store will be free. I went back about 5 pages and tried using the search function, nothing came up, so if this already has a thread i apologize.

It was my "dark period" as well. I was lucky enough to find a used set on ebay with box/instructions for about $200. Washed it, looks new to me! It was my favorite train as a kid theres no way i could pass it up.

March 1st eh? Sounds good to me! I wonder if people from LEGO see these comments about "hints" and laugh. I hope they keep the modular line going for a long time, its definitly my favorite.

I wish they would come out with trains like the BNSF GP38 or the Santa Fe Super Chief. Were those sets profitable for TLG?

Very well done. I recently picked up this set off of ebay. After building the modular sets i was thinking the train station needed to be doubled up. I like what you did with the front, nice work.

Hello everybody! I always enjoyed LEGO as a kid, mainly the town sets. From 1986 - 1994 all i could think about was LEGO. Like most, i had to give it up as other life things had come up. Fast forward to Christmas of 2010, it all came back. My girlfriend bought me a Ferarri set and i was amazed at the amount of detail it had. Over all it was a nice set but the scale seemed to be a little off. I started looking at LEGO.com and came across the Grand Emporium... all i can say is WOW! 2011 was a busy year for me. I became addicted to buying old LEGO sets on ebay that i couldn't afford to get when i was a kid. Anyways as a kid i was never able to get a LEGO train. Well things changed and i can now afford the trains, i bought a few. I picked up the Emerald Night+ PowerFunctions, Maersk train 10129 + PowerFunctions, Santa Fe Super Chief, Red Cargo Train 3677, Cargo train 7939. I also picked up a few 9v sets but i cant think of them at the moment. I will never step away from LEGO again, i love this stuff!

This was my favorite train when i was a kid, when i returned to LEGO i couldn't believe they made this model. To bad i had to pay 4 times the original price. Oh well i love it.

WOW, awesome work! I wasnt collecting LEGO at the time the Super Chief was released so i missed out on picking up a set for the original price. I'd love to add your designs to the lay out that im building.
