  1. I check the box/building instructions and I found no code for DLC (is it a kind of code similar to the POTC's cards?)
  2. Thanks for your help : I'm not used to imagine a good English title.
  3. Thanks for a so great review ! I heard about "Reviewers Academy" : your work is so instructive for me (I'm new and French... it's not so easy to express my opinion in a foreign langage). I will pick up some technic elements in order to improve my own reviews. The pictures are GREAT (the back ground is sober and uniform)
  4. And what about : 5 a lion (zoo set) 4 a wofl (castle set) 3 a sheep (castle/farm set) 2 a turtle (pirates set) 1 a stork ! (zoo/farm set) [my favorite animal : indeed, I live in a France's region where they are so numerous]
  5. Indeed, LEGO® Creationary is so cool : why nobody did it before? My best friend and me (we share a 20 years old passion of LEGO® bricks) try to be imaginative each party we play. I will post in few days other MOC made with the elements inside the game.
  6. Thank you, actually, it's my first English review : the main difficulty was the technical vocabulary. I take a look at the "Reviewer's Academy" : it sounds very interesting and reminds me my teacher's advices (how to comment/photograph ancient documents/objects - I have a master degree in history studies). I also take a look at "Barnes and Noble" (unknown in France) : is that a kind of books seller? Do they sell LEGO® sets too? Lastly, I compared my pick-up truck with n°7848 "Toys 'R' Us Truck" and you were right about the size. I agree with you about the design (in particular the mix of "New Dark Red", "Medium Stone Grey", "White") and the solidity. Originally, I was interested about reviewing n°4433 "Dirt Bike Transporter", but I really wanted that sheriff's new short (and sunglasses).
  7. Thank you : actually I hesitated a long time between the "Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape" (with Iron Man !) and this set. The price decided for me, I just wanted to share my first English experience of making a review. The main difficulty was to express my whole opinion, unfortunately my English skills don't allow me to do everything I wanted : so I made it brief and straight to the point. Thanks to your post, I'm enough motivated to keep on doing this : I be back soon, with a new - and longer - review !
  8. Set Number : 4437 Set Name : Police Pursuit Theme : Police forest Pieces : 129 Price : 12.99£ ; 17.99$ ; 14,99€ Introduction Hi ! Please, take few minutes in order to read - and comment - my first review written in English (inspired by Svelte's work and technical vocabulary) : I took my pictures with the back of the Heroica boardgame (a sober, large and homogeneous surface). If you want to support my personnal reviews, take a look on my French blog http://lego-legis-legere.blogspot.fr/. I decided to review this theme because it is a very innovative way to introduce the old relationship policemen/thieves (in a forested context instead of an urban one) : I couldn't help to think about Twin Peaks and David Lynch when I see LEGO® sheriff's shirt, wild northern forest and mountainous tops. Part 1 : Box, Parts and Minifigures The back of the box shows 5 small vignettes with the classical pattern robbery/pursuit/arrest : I noticed that the policeman who intercepts the thief isn't designed as the the new forest policeman. The edge of the box represents the two minifigures (1:1 scale). The set contains a small instruction book and 2 bags(car and quad bike). At the end of the instruction book, there is an ingenious picture which links the 2 main themes (City Police/Forest Police). The 2 minifigures are very detailed and colourful : take a look to the thief's sleeveless shirt (he's dressed like a hillbilly) or the sheriff's radio and badge. Part 2 : The Build - The quad bike The design is rather simple and convincing with only few bricks (31) and the "police brick" is printed (I really don't like stickers, why T.L.G. doesn't provide extra stickers in each set? Are they too expensive?). Part 2 : The Build - The pick-up truck Colourful and massive, the pick-up truck is well designed according to my opinion, because it looks powerful, resistant and its size is accurate (as a pick-up is supposed to be). Nevertheless, the trunk isn't handy : too deep and therefore it is very difficult to reach the money and gold once inside. There is enough place in the car bonnet to allow some modifications, so that you can improve the motor's aspect : indeed, the car bonnet (as its roof) can be removed easily. Part 3 : Conclusions According to me, this set is a very good one. Indeed, it is rather cheap, well-designed and playable. Price : 10/10 Play : 8/10 (because of the trunk and the lack of weapon for the policeman). Design : 9/10
  9. I post here my best M.O.C. made with a Creationary Game. Any suggestions are welcome.
  10. Hi, I'm French and I noticed that LEGO® community was essentially Anglo-Saxon. It doesn't disturb me because I'm able to understand almost everything, but much of my fellows don't. So I decided to make French reviews 3 days ago : my education (Master in history studies) allows me to write an objective paper, even if I'm not used to that kind of thing. So, would people give me some constructive criticism ? Indeed, I want to keep writing every day about LEGO® sets. Here is my new blog : http://lego-legis-legere.blogspot.fr/ Thanks !
  11. The design of the tower is awesome ! Dovahkiin, Dovahkiin, Dovahkiin...
  12. Hi, I post my first MOC on this forum (I already posted some MOC on the Pirates forum). Forgive my English, I'm French. Okay, this is a MOC based on my own studies in University : this first part represents the exhibition of the dead, in the familial domus, with musicians, family members, black cypres, funerary bed, cups and presents, funerary torches and the very famous wooden chest in which one the wax imagines of the ancestors were kept. Enjoy it (This first MOC is inspired by the famous relief of the Haterii, which represents a dead rich woman an her family)
  13. Excellent ! I'm a rather good specialist of Roman history (actually I work on Roman burial) and I share your vision of a Mithraeum. There is just missing the sacrifice of a bull ^^
  14. Looks pretty good indeed !
  15. Nice ! I think using medieval sets is a good idea
  16. Nice ! Good idea
  17. Hi, I post my second topic, after the custom Black Pearl, and this one is a MOC I made few month ago with LDD (all bricks were buyable, so I had to do it with a poor choice of bricks and colors). Enjoy !
  18. Great MOC and nice picture. It is also a good source of inspiration for a MOC based on "Monkey Island".
  19. The design of the back is interesting, nice work
  20. The golden eagle you made are very interesting for a LEGO Roman adaptation
  21. Very impressive work ! Nice colors and great details !
  22. Hi ! First forgive my English, I'm French and this is my first topic on Classic Pirates(actually, it is the first time I publish one of my MOC) I made a alternative version of the LEGO Black Pearl because I was not satified by the official LEGO version (I think it looks to small and the design is too rough). So I bought two of them, and with some extra pieces I made this one with four canon (as LEGO pirate big ship used to have some years ago) and the place for six other. I modified the bow and the stern (both inspired by the QAR and the Black Pearl designed for the LEGO video game). With time (and money...) I will make something better ! Enjoy
