  1. Thanks guys ! I didn't notice it was the first review of The Orc Forge. I'm glad you like it.
  2. Lurtz, the Uruk-Hai, has a double sided head with the print of a white hand (similar to the minifigures of the Uruk-Hai Army set).
  3. An other review of a great set. Soon a French translation (more detailed) will be here. Name : The Orc Forge Set number : 9476 Theme : The Lord of the Rings Pieces : 366 Minifigures : 4 Ages : 8-14 Released : 2012 Price : 39.99£ / 39.99$ / 49,99€ Introduction Few month ago, when I heard about the Lord of the Rings theme, I was very excited by all the possibilities of such a great movie. I was wondering if there will be Orc/Elf/Human army, new weapon mold and detailed minifigures. If I'm still waiting for an Elf army (and Gondor soldiers), today I'm rather satisfied by the L.O.T.R. theme, except the price of each set. The packaging is well-designed : the Middle-Earth map is colored in blue (similar to the P.O.T.C. theme) and orange because of Sauron's ring. Personnaly, I want to keep boxes of such a quality. The back is completed by 7 nailed scrolls with few descriptions of the content : the printed shelds/helmets are very cool and accurate. The presence of a red light brick is welcome. The building The set is composed of 3 bags and 1 building instructions. What a shame there is no poster as in each P.O.T.C. boxes. The 4 minifigures are very detailed, especially the Orcs because of their facial piercings and sharped ears. Lurtz is cool, unfortunately his legs aren't printed with more muscles. The pieces are rather common, except the weapons and few special bricks : there is also an orange LEGO tool, fun but useless (according to my opinion). The building is really easy. Here is the red light brick in action... ... and then turn off. The rock base is easy to build and very convincing : I really like the mix of medium grey/dark grey and green. The Orc Forge is designed as a modular set, in order to be easily build. I'm not a fan of the building technic, but is doesn't disturb me in this set. I'm so happy there is no sticker in this set : each wooden plates are printed with nice details. Conclusion Minifigures : 8/10 they are detailed, expressive and colourful. A fifth minifigure will be welcome (as in 9471 Uruk-Hai Army), especially Saruman (it is supposed to be Isengard !) Building : 9/10 : the set is very easy to build, there is no challenge. Playability : 7/10 it could be very fun to create an army, but the set lack of minifigures/weapons to be perfect (only 2 Uruk-Hai). This is clearly a collector set (hard to find). Design : 8/10 the set looks very good, especially with the rock base (what a great idea !) and the red light brick. Price : 6/10 49,99€ for the European market (the French price on the LEGO web site) is really too expensive ! I can afford it because I work, but I don't think it will attract the parents of a young public (especially with the world financial crisis).
  4. Yeah, it was very impressive ! I was here ! Actually, I took some picture of the Capitol Hill (and also many other pictures, such as a M.O.C. of the Flying Dutchman, Titanic, trains etc.) you can see them here : Fana'briques
  5. Good review ! The comparison with the old LEGO vampire/coffin is welcome. Usually, I don't like stickers... but this time, it could be a good thing : am I the only whou don't like the glow in the dark sticker? (to much tuning for my taste). So I can remove it. Good job !
  6. Poor little goat... I remember well what happpened in the movie. Very nice/fun M.O.C. !
  7. Great M.O.C. : it belongs in a museum ! (okay, that was my Indiana Jones' minute...) Keep bricking on !
  8. It is so cool ! I like such small boat, because it is very peacefull. Nico M.O.C.
  9. This is truly awesome ! There are such great details and certainly many building skills. The interior details are so cool (especially the water distributor : what an ingenious idea !) Good job, keep being so creative.
  10. Maybe very soon (this week-end) because I will take also my friend's pictures (we were both here).
  11. That's an awesome M.O.C. ! I like everything, especially the glass roof and the black concrete sticks (sorry, I even don't know the French for such things) : they are brillant. Good job !
  12. Nice M.O.C. The stern looks great ! It makes me think about the Flying Dutchman of Fana'briques 2012 More pictures are disponible here Keep bricking on !
  13. Nice ! I especially like the 2 spots in each hand of the Libery minifigure : it is brillant to use the garbage containers for the 2 spots. Great M.O.C.
  14. Great review "CopMike" Keep on sharing other such as this one.
  15. Available in September 2012 ? Argh... the wait is too long ! I already know were my summer job's monney will go !
  16. Thanks, I tried to put a space between each steps of the side ladder, but it disturbed the proportion between the hull and the piece (what's the LEGO name for this?) which made the link with the rope ladder of the mast. When The Black Pearl 3.0 will come (why not if I feel inspired) I will work on it.
  17. Thanks : I agree with you. Indeed, the official set was too poor for such a great ship (only 2 cannons ! Now there are 4, and the place for 6 each side of the hull). If it can help Eurobrickers, I will post this week the instructions (with L.D.D.). Thank you guys for commenting my work.
  18. And the female goat too (visible in the third movie). Thanks for your comment Thanks mate ! Actually, I was inspired by many M.O.C. when I desgined it : your version of the Queen Anne's Revenge was very useful (it is such a great ship !)
  19. [pid][/pid] 138B Hi, I already posted few month ago a preleminary version of a modified Black Pearl 4184. Without further pieces, it was not yet satisfying : now I can show you the end of my W.I.P. which started in December 2011. I was inspired by P.O.T.C. video game and I added modified P.O.P.'s minifigures to the original crew. Any suggestions are welcome.
  20. Hi, I post some pictures from the famous LEGO® convention Fana'briques which took place in Rosheim-France last week (29th, 30th of June and 1st of July). Enjoy it.
  21. What a great Black Pearl ! You are such a good M.O.C.er ! I feel so inspired by your amazing work ! Keep bricking on !
  22. "We only wish To catch a fish, So juicy-sweet !" Very nice M.O.C. ! Great job.
  23. Cool ! It reminds me the movie "Space Cowboys" ! Good M.O.C., I really like it.
  24. Great M.O.C. ! (and a so bad movie...) The destroyed road is very convincing. Keep bricking on !
